His duty is not to the player but the team's success so he shouldn't have to cater to one's discomfort at the cost of it. In this way, ukai isn't yelling at yamaguchi - he's yelling at his pinch server. Because as it is mentioned, ukai swaps him in for tsukki at a critical point in the rotation since his backline d is below average. Whilst yamaguchi discontinues the floater to do a normal one, in addition to it being the only reason for being subbed in it makes ukai look foolish on the account of taking an established starter out when tsukki could've done the exact same serve. Yamaguchi not only wasted his moment; he inadvertently insulted ukai's coaching, risked the team's success and it'll be an important lesson for him to take into the future.

Now that I've rewatched this show so many times, there were so many scenes where he was helping Daichi keep the boys in check. Just to help clarify what a "southpaw" is, it's basically an athlete that uses their left-hand, rather than their right, to play the sport. Common in baseball, boxing, and volleyball, in this case. (e.g. I'm left-hand dominant, so I'd be considered a southpaw if I played a sport. Pretty sure this applies to legs too.) "I need the next episode now!" "I'm need to binge S2" Yessir! That's what Haikyu is all about! This show has a different kind of hype from other action/shounen/seinen shows like JJK, AOT, etc. Literally like watching your favorite sports team play. I don't follow sports, but I have a friend who is a diehard Barcelona fan, and he acts just like Ange whenever he gets heated about his team. Also, always good to see the tradition for Daichi's RIP moment never goes away in the comments section 😂

If you ever do a rewatch of the series, you'll see him here and there, especially outside of gameplay, keeping the second-years and first-years under control. They definitely think ahead when setting up character arcs in this show. Also glad Daichi got some MVPs! There were a couple episodes this season I thought he could have gotten it, but I knew when we got to these last two episodes it would HAVE to be Daichi. We love our captain!

2023-11-09 21:59:25 +0000 UTCthey revealed it after the match with 2m guy that johzenji was in top4 (semifinals) in inter-high preliminaries which means they either played against great king's team or the roids team and lost to them before finals. they are certainly not weak for this prefecture but karasuno have bigger advantage because they were training with some of the elite teams from the posibly most advanced prefecture aka tokyo. to simplify it, think of the teams karasuno trained to be all in A tier (some higher some lower ranked in A tier) and johzenji is in top5 teams in B tier. thats why there is discrepancy in what people say about them and what we as viewers see

Anyone who has played sports long enough, especially as a kid, can think of a moment like this where someone gets hurt seriously enough that you immediately freak the fuck out. By ending the episode on that quiet scene it really gets the viewer on that same headset. I know you guys normally skip openings, but if you notice, from now on, Daichi shows up with a bruise in the OP for the rest of the Qualifiers.
