Veldora and the Hero are also clearly better than he is, and presumably Leon. It's a bit harder to see the differences in power, but Milim's introduction makes it very clear.

2023-11-12 21:16:23 +0000 UTCI do like slime and I would recommend them watch it eventually too. For me, where slime excels over other isekais/animes is economy-building. Slime falls under the "power" isekai/fantasy genre where the MC is OP and you never really worry/stress when the MC enters the scene. A little too safe and not as entertaining for me. I personally like stories with a little more spice (physicological/controversy) and a flawed MC (i.e. Subaru, Rudeus, etc)

2023-11-12 20:06:11 +0000 UTCOne of the smaller things about mob's character that showed improvement that I loved is his work with the body improvement. We all remember that sloppy out of breath running he did early on because he was out of shape but now he can easily keep up a brisk jog with his fellow club mates and I love that. He's been doing the work no matter how hard it's been and the results are showing.

So glad you guys watched Mob, and it’s the cherry on top to know you two enjoyed the way it ended. Seeing Mob as a confident and reliable Body Improvement senpai makes me feel so good; after seeing him struggle and collapse for so long. Followed by the Reigen’s bday surprise and the final shot of Mob laughing whole heartedly. Amazing show all around. Next show is Re:Zero? Sheesh, we eating good (when are we not here 😋)

Mob finally coming to terms with his emotions, crying over Tsubomi WITHOUT exploding, something he COULD NOT have done in the beginning of the series. And then the end of him smiling, showing that coming to terms with his feelings will cause hurt but will also cause much more happiness than he had before.

I implied that you should probably research a bit more especially with an anime like this one that might be a bit controversial. Also, I know the anime will follow the Light Novel version of the story. Which I heard is very different from the manga.

Some of his actions in regards to his perversion further along do not follow your idea of "character development" and Rudy's "growth" haha. Don't get me wrong I've kept up to date with this show, I do like the ideas behind it. But seriously I'm not too sure about Rudy's "growth" in terms of perversion that you're talking about.

But Rudy’s growth from season 1 to mid way season 2 is noticeable. He “acts up” less. Probably due to the ED, but those kind of experiences can shape/change a person. Especially an emotionally/socially stunted person Rudy was in his past life. But the MC and character writing might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Respectfully

The show handles him overcoming his trauma as well as the development of his interpersonal relationships beautifully but his sexual deviancy comes off as gratuitous since the show never depicts it as an issue that he needs to overcome.

Like y’all said, EVERY ARC has a satisfying wrap up, and it ends on the boy who was too scared to show his emotions, laughing for the first time in the whole show. There is something special about this anime. Thank you so much guys, really means much and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Seeing Shigeo finally laugh and express his feelings was amazing. This is one of few shows that actually ends so good. Edit: BTW can't wait for you guys to react to the openings! I'll end this comment with a quote from the author of Mob Psycho, ONE or also called Tomohiro. "What I have in mind is to "tell a big story of one little step". I don't believe our lives changes completely for the better at a short notice. It's all the small progress we make that's important - that's what I think of while drawing this manga."

The author purposefully made the MC very despicable and morally unethical to test the viewers/readers if he can be redeemed by the end of the story. Yes, the MC does a lot of controversial and uncomfortable things at the start. But it's up to the viewers to judge if the MC's experiences in his new life have changed him into a better person. Lots of grey areas and great conversational topics in the show. Which is why its great imo

2023-11-03 17:24:59 +0000 UTCi 100% agree with you. Both are great in their own right. I would recommend they try Mushoku Tensei next, then try a power isekai like "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" and then finally get to Konosuba. Would be a well-rounded experience through the isekai genre

2023-11-03 16:29:00 +0000 UTCAs far as isekai anime goes I think Mushoku Tensei is better than Re:Zero albeit more ecchi, would love to see you guys react to Mushoku at some point, Re:Zero’s anime is a lot further along so there’s more to react to, but story-wise I don’t think it’s even a close comparison
