I don't think that it does. I can't comment further for spoiler reasons, but suffice to say that I think it's entirely consistent. (*despite*, not *because*)

I won't spoil but I'll just say in the video game arc there's a scene that disproves everything you just said.

2023-10-31 18:23:58 +0000 UTC
given 1 by pinhead, given 1 by kurapika/leorio, taken 1 from the guy he killed before gon snatched his own tag. that is 3 tags worth 3 points, and guy targeting gon was hisoka's target woth 3 points.
there is nothing asumed, everything is shown and told and no he was not given couple of badges by kurapika, the whole kurapika's speech was there to explain why they are only willing to give one badge without fight, not a couple of them.

2023-10-31 18:22:42 +0000 UTC
as for hisoka's count.
his own tag is 3 points worth
the black dude that poisoned gon in the end was his target so his tag is 3 points worth
every other tag he has is 1 point worth each.
he has 1 tag from sniper guy that pinhead person gave him.
he has 1 tag he took from kurapika/leorio (monkey trainer's tag)
and he has 1 tag from person he killed under effects of his dry spell
hisoka leaves his tag to gon cause he already has 6 points withouth his tag

some easy numbercrunching here, hope it helps.
We know kurapika was following tonpa cause he was kurapika's target, and tonpa said leorio was his target. that means tonpa's and leorio's number 100% are not hisoka's target. that means out of 4 tags they have hisoka's target could potentially be kurapika's number or the monkey trainer guy's number. since kurapika's tag is worth 3 points to him clearly he won't give it up without a fight, meaning only tag they are willing to give that also has a chance to be hisoka's target is the monkey trainer guy. That tag is only one that is worth 1 point alone to both kurapika and leorio so they decided it is worthy sacrifice if it means not fighting hisoka.
so hisoka's choice is either to fight both of them or take 1 tag that is either 1 or 3 points worth to him without checking the number before they leave. those were the thought process and terms

Hisoka is most definitely a p3do he’s sexually attracted to strength no matter if your a kid or a adult ppl try so him saying he’s tingling definitely means what you thought it did and ppl try and say no he’s not but he is. He is still like the top character when it comes to hxh tho.

Regarding Hisoka, its most definitely sexual. But it has nothing to do with anything outside of fighting a worthy opponent with their lives on the line. Fighting the urge to kill someone before they have achieved their potential is sexual frustration because they are worth fighting now but holding out until later will only multiply the sensation. It just gets icky when the person he has acknowledged as a worthy opponent just happens to be a child, because he wants to kill them now for the pleasure but he wants them to grow for the more worthy fight down the line. When he agreed to kurapikas deal he denied himself a pleasurable kill one to many times and he had to kill someone to relieve himself in any capacity. TLDR; hisoka main drive, kill worthy opponent for gasm

Hey! Thanks for these suggestions and the feedback. We're going to look at cleaning up the Patreon page as well as making our page easier to navigate in the coming weeks as there is a lot involved and it would take AGES to organise the hundreds of videos we have on here.

There’s a lot of discussion (or screaming argument if you prefer) amongst the HxH community about whether Hisoka is a p***e. Personally, I don’t see it. The definition of p**e is someone with a sexual preference for pre pubescent children (and a lot of this is connected to power differential). Yet again and again, Hisoka talks about wanting Gon to grow up before he kills him, to be powerful enough that it is worth it. Hisoka is a pervert, for sure. He gets turned on by killing, and the more powerful his opponent, the more he gets turned on. He likes Gon *despite* the fact that he is a child, not *because* of it.
But I think Hisoka’s most basic code is that he does whatever the f*** he wants 😂😂😂
Either way, he is a deeply problematic character, but also very strong, intelligent and graceful. I think it’s that combination that makes him so popular. If this was a Western animated series, there is no way someone like Hisoka could be included, or at least, not without significant character alteration. So let’s hear it for anime!

Hi guys, new patron and HxH fan here. I have a few observations:
- At the start, I didn't know exactly the difference between the terms you used: Reaction, Full Reaction, Sync Reaction. It'd be great if you had a pinned post explaining things for starters like me.
- Also some HxH reactions don't have a proper label, and I had to use the search bar to look for older videos. You could add labels to the missing ones.
- But some reactions have different titles (Hunter or HxH), and Patreon doesn't organize them as from the same type, so it took me more time to find the reactions I missed. You could use similar titles for the same show.
- And you don't have Collections in Patreon yet. That would've been a great help for me. So I think you should start with that at least.
PS: Excited to follow your reactions :)

@Astor Lefflinker To explain. kurapika and leorio had 4 tags in total: kurapika, leorio, tonpa, monkey man. We still didn't know who hisoka's target is. We do know that it's no leorio because the person hunting him was tonpa. Kurapika's target was tonpa as well. So that leaves 2 tags with the POSSIBILITY of being hisoka's target: kurapika's or monkey man. So kurapika made hisoka a deal, take monkey man's tag, or fight because kurapika didn't want to give him his own tag. Hisoka chose the former

At the beginning of the story, Hisoka's personality is very problematic, because of this ambiguity in his lines (and for the record, in the older version, he was worse). But, as the anime progressed, his personality was better explained as an insatiable desire to challenge himself, fighting against strong opponents or opponents that he sees potential. This makes him an easier character to like and, consequently, one of the most popular in hxh.

@Douglas Kelley it's not annoying. It also took me a while before I understood how Hisoka got 6 points. It's also because we didn't see him get the tag from the person he killed when Gon stole his tag. When it comes to numbers, things can easily get over people's heads. I've watched this series several times in my own time and with reactors but until now I'm still not 100% clear on Kurapika's explanation to Hisoka about their tags 🤷♂️

Idk if Hisoka is actually hunting for "sexual gratification" per se... I think that's just a (very unfortunate) side-effect of his desire to fight only the strongest opponents. He sees potential in our main characters and therefore doesn't want to "harvest the fruit before it becomes ripe."
Hisoka is a gross, creepy, and mega interesting character.

I always feel so bad saying I love Hisoka as a character 😭 obviously he's a terrible person. but I think it's a well written character, very important to the story and fun to watch whenever he's on screen. that being said, I do not glorify his behavior nor ideals whatsoever

I don't think it's annoying - they're watching several shows and this is something around numbers - whether you count it out and realize that Hisoka has enough, or you think he's confident enough in his ability to get 6 by the end, the result is the same and doesn't make a difference in the long run. I'm just stoked they're starting to really get into the show~

Personally, the best way I can explain Hisoka's motives is in real world terms. While hunters irl hunt deer and foxes for sport, hisoka only hunts lions. He sees Gon as a baby lion and so he's not going to hunt a cub, what a waste! And THEN the final bit is, unlike irl hunters that hunt for sport and glory...hisoka is hunting for his own sexual gratification. Yuh.
Ange you're fine in thinking hisoka is the thing that rhymes with "nail file", but yeah hisoka is a real balancing act of wtf is his deeeaaal.

Hisoka has his prey's tag (3), pinhead gave him last episode (1), Kurapika gave him a tag (1), and the guy hisoka killed before gon stole his tag (1)
