People who are complaining aren't even watching JJK for the show, they just watch it for pretty animation and then complain when it's not flawless in a weekly anime with production issues and mistreated animators. Real fans should be happy we are getting such a fire adaptation. You could always be a Tokyo Ghoul or Promised Neverland fan.

2023-10-27 18:19:24 +0000 UTCIt’s really not a story that can make up for average to below average animation. This is the peak of it, but 95% of the story is just fighting. If that isn’t entertaining then it is gonna be rough. Season 1 had great animation and a great style/flare to it. They completely changed that in Season 2 so far. It has more “artistic” direction and cinematography, but I honestly feel like they’re trying to change the formula too much when it literally worked well in Season 1. Other studios have managed to put together high octane arcs like this one with great animation nearly every single episode. It’s doable, but not with the time table MAPPA is forcing on it’s staff. Season 1 really felt like a labor of love and Season 2 has felt like a cash grab so far.

2023-10-27 15:37:01 +0000 UTCHonestly for me JJK was only ever REALLY good because the animation on season 1 went super hard, like it's not AS mid as demon slayer story and character wise, but this season with the animation being so inconsistent and generally just way worse than season 1 I feel like i've lost a lot of the hype for it.

2023-10-27 14:59:49 +0000 UTCYeah it’s disappointing, I’m not really putting any blame on the animators. MAPPA as a whole is just doing too much. Madhouse had twelve episodes of Frieren done before the season started airing, and you can definitely tell a difference. If you’re a fan of the source material, you just really want to see it elevated when it comes time for it to be animated. Shibuya so far has not done that outside of the Choso fight. I think they should have kept more of the aspects from Season 1 imo.

2023-10-27 14:46:02 +0000 UTCMappa is really rushing the animators, I saw a Twitter thread of one of the animators complaining and he was beating himself up over it because he feels like he ruined a masterpiece. It’s unfortunate but I’m just grateful that we’re getting an adaptation that’s releasing weekly, the animators are going through hell.

He has anti-domain techniques and he’s the second fastest sorcerer (currently first since gojo is sealed) and has decades of experience fighting. He could’ve killed Dagon, had Dagon not opened its domain. And he survived through death swarm which was much more powerful than the one nanami got through since Dagon mentioned he would focus 70% of his power on Naobito. Not to mention, Dagon is a strong ahh curse that shrugged off Nanamis hits. Naobito was an absolute badass this episode.
