So even if kageyama one day becomes the best player in Japan, he wouldn’t be one of the top 5 aces because of his position as a setter. Although, there is a best setter award, so he could always end up getting that

Spring tournament is just another name for NATIONALS. Which means: IF Karasuno wins these next few games, they're going to be qualified for Nationals (Spring tournament). 🫶

Reminder about tempo: It's all about when the spiker starts their approach vs. when the setter makes the toss. It has nothing to do with the positions along the net where Kageyama set up the water bottles. That was just him trying to practice getting the ball to land in the position he wants it to every time. First tempo: The spiker starts their running approach BEFORE the toss goes up (making the time from toss to spike very fast). Second tempo: The spiker starts their running approach AT THE SAME TIME the toss goes up. Third tempo: The spiker starts their running approach AFTER the toss goes up (which gives the most time for the spiker to see where the ball is going and adjust, but also gives the defending blockers more time to get into position and block). A lot of the time, wing spikers like Asahi will do the slower tempos, especially if the receive was wonky and might make for a harder toss. They wait to see where the toss is going before they start the running approach into their jump. On the other hand, middle blockers often do the quicker tempos in order to throw off the defense and outspeed any blockers. This is one big reason they put Hinata in the middle blocker position, so he could be an effective decoy and be in a good position for quicks.

My MVP on episode 9 is Yachi. Yachi is the one who helped Kageyama train AND she's the one that gave Hinata the final push to go talk o Kageyama in the first place when she said she wanted to see the completed quick.

Just to clarify again, the Tempo has nothing to do with the way Kageyama set up the bottles. The Tempo is just the timing in which the hitters start their running approach. The water bottles Kageyama set up were just markers to measure distance so he would know how much force to put into his sets so the ball would stop where he wanted it to.
