Blue Lock?

Who’d be interested in seeing our reactions to Blue Lock?? Even though we’re currently watching another Sports anime in Haikyuu. Just trying to gauge some community feedback!!

Comments

I care about other anime much more

Kong Fuzi

Blue lock is not my Cup of tea

MoD+

Please

Icy_WIllow

Yes please!!

Angelica

probably finish Haikyuu first because Blue Lock is vastly different in writing and approach to sports. it's more flashy shounen than a sports anime imo, something to keep in mind in case you start Blue Lock expecting a Haikyuu type of story (that was a mistake of mine for sure 😅)

apothecary maomao

Yes please! Blue Lock or Kuroko no Basket would be really nice.

xSerry

Blue lock sounds great but if I may say Kuroko no Basket is pretty solid too. Done by the same production company as Haikyuu

Cyrus Gaperi

BLUE LOCK RULESS

Alpy

Yes let’s go !!!

Maryam186

Yes please

Nashop

If y’all want great story telling, I’d say Hajime No Ippo. If you want goofy and funny—Eyeshield 21 and Slam Dunk. If you want flashy and hype—Kuroko’s Basket and Blue Lock.

Gino Urcia

For K-Drama can you guys do Vincenzo next?!

Md Sheam Bin Sayhid

If you just want to have fun, you should check out One Outs.

Angelo

blue lock is just as hype

Duckl

I really enjoyed Blue Lock as I play soccer and it's interesting. Nothing can touch Haikyuu, but learning the different skills that each player brings to the game is a LOT of fun.

Jonathan Soronen

Blue Lock is a lot more shonen then Haikyuu (more emphasis on the wow flash bang of it all) which is great if you like that kind of show. 'Run With the Wind' is one of my favourites next to Haikyuu because of how well the character development is written - but because the show is about long-distance running, people don't find it as exciting to watch. I would still highly recommend it even if you decide to just watch it in your own time :) love from QLD.

Bobby Hanson

It was a very enjoyable and hype, its definitely a show that people would enjoy watching a reaction of. Maybe wait until the next season (confirmed, date unknown) (i'm a giant fan of haikyuu aswell)

Valandril

I am biased towards haikyuu cuz I'm a volleyball player and I can personally relate to pretty much everything in the show, but I definitely agree with you, in terms of hype and competitiveness, I'd say Blue Lock is top tier.

hugolima05

YES OMG! Such a fire show, knowing how much you guys are enjoying haikyuu, I'm very confident you guys will love it as well. It approaches team sports in a totally different POV from haikyuu, but it's sooo good.

hugolima05

blue lock for the win

astral_

If it's football series then Ao Ashi is the best imo

slahser

please do!

bee

that would be so cool !

Maximilien Leymonerie

Wait a little longer, Season 2 is in development, so it can be more bearable the waiting and a longer reaction serie.

Manuel Eduardo Diaz Cabrera

It’s a slower burn but I think that Ace no Diamond is soo underrated!!

David S

I personally find that Blue lock is way less well written than Haikyuu. It’s also hype but more in a OMG it’s so edgy and cool than real character work and theme exploration. So I would rather see something else

David S

I would recommend kuruko no basket

Ebrahim

would love that! very exciting show

bubbaburto

YEAH!

prinze15

Yes please!

Mikaela

More interesting than Haikyu IMO

KnightOfCarim

Not sure if it was already commented here, but I've read somewhere that ISAYAMA HIMSELF recommended Blue Lock. I haven't watched it yet, so it's a good first time for me as well if you're going to next this after Haikyu!!

Raymund Angelo Robles

Would love to watch your reaction to RWBY too! music and fights are so good

Tenzin Dikyikhangsar

You should wait though, Ange’s heart is going to explode if you watch blue lock and haikyuu at the same time.

Pranaw Bajracharya

Absolutely! One of the best animes out there

Shobith Bandaru

If Ange gets crazy over Haikyuu he will love Blue Lock.

Kriss

Totally Agree with you!

DRACO

Blue Lock is a good anime - I would watch. My personal favorite sports anime is Chihayafuru - greatly underrated. But I understand it doesn't have the viewership for a reaction series.

K Cianci

No one thinks u can do it without teamwork, because even BlueLock, in a very roundabout way, shows you absolutely need teamwork to win. I was just talking about the mentality that the best players in the world have, and how BL tries to replicate it

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Bluelock was created to be a critique of the Japanese mindset in sports after their elimination in the 2018 WC. I agree that the football element is very exaggerated but if u only look at it through that lens and not the one it was created for, then you’re selling yourself short.

LuciusArtoriusCastus

blue lock is amazing, definitely recommend reacting to it, but warning you guys that we don't know when season 2 will come!

Aman Gupta

Bro, Blue Lock was the TOP 1 new anime of past year. I personally like it more than Haikyuu. No anime had me hyped chapter after chapter since AOT. It's intense as hell and VERY competitive.

SeiferJaeger

Definitely watch blue lock please

Ty

Yes please!

Siba Zitumane

Someone down below mentioned Baby Steps which I had completely forgotten about, but that is another top-tier sports anime. Maybe above both Hinomaru Sumo and Yuri on Ice tbh. I just forget about it because it deserved another season. @beannieswife Yes I think of all of these Your Lie in April might have the most "reactable" moments if they made it all the way through.

Khalayx

Oh snap I forgot about Baby Steps when I wrote my reply the other day, that is definitely another top sports anime in my book.

Khalayx

blue lock and haikyuu are like the ying and yang of sport anime they are both good but take different take on it would love to se you react to it

millecamps

Also peak pain 😭

QualityFreak

oh yes, it's a really good story. Ideally it should be higher in my list but my top 3 just invoke my competitive spirit a bit more than Run with the wind

Girish

This list is great all around but Run with the wind doesn’t get nearly as much love as it should so I’m happy to see it in someone else’s top 5!

Lord Mongrel

I think it'd be awesome to see you guys watch Blue Lock its definitely different from Haikyuu and a lot of other sports anime but it is still a great show and is full of a lot of really hype moments and great character arcs.

radguys

Your lie

Eric Chandler

Not a fan but Ange would probably like it.

Matt Rhinehart

Blue lock is good!!! Of the sports anime that I watched, my personal ranking is 1. Haikyuu 2. Blue lock 3. Ao Ashi 4. Run with the wind 5. Kuroko no basket 6. Baby steps (tennis)

Girish

Note: English isn't my first language If technical faults in writing don't bother you much, and you have a strong tolerance for edginess/cringe, Blue Lock could be a fun, braindead-hype sort of series. I'd prefer Run with the Wind or Ace of the Diamond for sports, but BL could be interesting for you guys after Haikyuu since they run so opposite in ideology. (optional read/just personal experience) I read 180-something chapters of the manga before the anime was released. While I didn't necessarily agree with the ideas introduced, I'm not the type to overlay my own values onto fictional media, so that wasn't an issue for me. As a former athlete and general fan of sports media, including manga, I was just going in for a good time. I thought the concepts were interesting, but they fell flat because the author's technical writing skills couldn't flesh them out into a believable world. It ended up feeling flimsy and shallow. Character writing in particular was really weak. I found it unconvincing, inconsistent, and contrived, which kept breaking immersion for me. And once I got bored, I couldn't continue ignoring other annoying things like how disrespectful his portrayals of women were. My tolerance for edgy/cringe content also reached a breaking point at the "I'm fucking amazing" chapter. I physically cringed and averted my eyes from the panel. That said, I likely won't be following the BL ride but hope you guys enjoy it if you decide to watch it.

Mysbis

Have you guys seen kurokos basketball?

Victor Martinez

blue lock is definitely interesting and a different take than Haikyuu on athletes and their resolve! It's also only one season released for now, so it'd be a great short anime to pick up :)

# vivi

I would say that the anime’s in future watch list should definitely be, my hero academia, bleach or one piece or Naruto, Ima throw this out there Sword art online, it’s pretty good series’s, season 2 probably the “worst one” but after wards they have really good sword fights and songs because Lisa did make a lot of music with them and there really good.

John duran

Blue lock is a really good anime that’s gonna get better over time, definitely after you finsh haikyuu definitely watch that, of course if you guys want to.

John duran

Honestly, wish they would redo the old bleach episodes so it's the same quality as the new arc.

Queen

Rather than blue lock... I'm sure more ppl would love to see ur reaction to Charlotte

Syahidir Hassan

Blue lock is good and I think ange will enjoy it soo much especially by the end of season 1. It hits you in the most unexpected way. Not your regular sports anime.

Dinesh

Kuroko no Basket is great for reacting.

Kae

ohh cool, eng is not my first language so i dont know slangs that much. thanks for the explanantion

bebe

no, "based" is a co-opted slang term that means an opinion that someone thinks is good and agrees with. it's used a lot when the opinion is the minority or can be a bit polarizing. i 100% agree with your comment too

uchenna

Yes, really weird that I can't recommend a show I didn't enjoy and that I would not watch the reactions of. Really weird way to go about things 🤣 blue lock fanboy logic I guess 😅

Phil

The only arguments I've seen so far are "superpowers and lack of realism in sports anime" Since when is anime supposed to be realistic? It's meant to entertain. Can't blame people for not liking some anime but some people take it too seriously with their haikyuu supremacy

MPM

You also have real sports to enjoy realistic things. Wanting anime to be realistic to be good is such a weird take.

MOB12

So many Haikyuu fanboys say that if you watch haikyuu first you wont like Kuroko and every reaction ive seen proves this wrong. People can like two different kinds of shows, crazy, i know.

MOB12

Good death note ending is trash

MOB12

Counter point: if you want to watch super realistic stuff, watch the real sports. Why you watching anime expecting stuff to be extremely realistic?

MOB12

I like blue lock but the animation actually isnt that good. It has its moments for sure, but it uses too much CGI as the season goes on. Now if it had animation like Kuroko No Basket does from S2 onwards? Now thatd be insane.

MOB12

Haikyuu is better so you cant recommend a show you dont find as good? That's such a weird way to go about things lmao some of you haikyuu fanboys are limiting yourselves by being so inlove with the show lol

MOB12

Tbh Haikyuu fans have a problem with any sports anime that is a bit exaggerated lmao like you see multiple comments saying its too different so don't do it, like a lot of them think you can only like one time of sports anime and its just silly. I see it everywhere. But also Kuroko no Basket would be the best one to do next, and then blue lock after

MOB12

Yes we need Bleach reactions :)

Ryo Kurosaki

oh yeah i didnt mind that, but some people just didnt like teh sound of it :(

tsumusamu

I would love to see an October anime OP video so many good anime’s released this month

Jake Barrett

As much as I enjoyed Blue Lock, it definitely doesn't sit at the same table as Haikyuu. It's exciting in a completely different way. TBH I felt a bit rushed through the character developments and arcs. You mentioned that you enjoy reacting to Haikyuu because it's one of the easier animes to fill because you can just enjoy it. Based on that comment I'd offer something like: 1. Salaryman's club 2. Backflip But they both only have one season. No one suggested Kuroko no Basket?

Belinda

That’s fine, but I saw a comment somewhere of someone who dropped it after a couple episodes because they didn’t like their personalities, like damn u didn’t even give them a chance 😭 edit: I just found out it was u 💀 u should give it a shot because there are characters who become very likable, even the ones with “shitty” personalities

LuciusArtoriusCastus

u mean biased? well ofc it is, arent eveyone here cmmting with their biased opinions here? it's not new.

bebe

They wont do Death Note, they object to it, so no point in asking for it

Aaron Wright

Or they just dont like shows with unlikeable people, thats not 'not getting it' thats just not liking that type of show, which is fair.

Aaron Wright

Ippo is so good

Aaron Wright

I think people would rather they keep the show variety a bit thinner, and watch more of them faster, then do new ones after theyre done, rather than having a huge variety of shows coming out slowly...Id rather get 4-5 episodes of the anime I like a week, then 1 episode of the anime I like and then there 9 other anime 1 eps i'm not following.

Aaron Wright

this is a based take

Aaron Wright

we do need bleach reactions tho

bebe

Bleach do be popping off since it came back

Favian

Can we start bleach 🥹🥹

Karan Reddy

please react to Sound! Euphonium it’s so great

嘉铭 李

I see Ange has gotten a taste of Haikyuu and wants more :)

Frozenbozo

Blue Lock is only 1 season right now so it wouldn't take too long to catch up. Blue lock does a good job at quick character development that make you a fan .it really is a crazy cool concept. Also super excited to see you all doing HxH it's on my personal top 5.

TrueHeater3

Blue lock is so gooodd

Max Briggs

If you want a sports related anime I suggest Major! It's soooo good

Jjaein

do you see all of them proving my point LMFAO

Brandon Gomez

I don't think that's the case. I finished the whole season of blue lock but it's still not comparable to other sports anime in terms of entertaining in my opinion. And yes I agree they should watch couple of episodes and decide for themselves BUT after they finish Haikyuu 😊

Bibi

Only if it doesn't interfere with the Haikyuu upload schedule. I couldn't really get into Blue Lock, but maybe it'll be different if I watch along with you guys.

Rae

Haven’t heard of this one but don’t want you guys to spread yourselves too thin! I would always prefer getting more episodes of a smaller pool of shows than less episodes of a pool of lots of different shows. I feel that a good sweet spot is 2-4 eps a week of four different shows (:

avalon

blue lock is cool but i want more HxH ! :)

Maximilien Leymonerie

Blue Lock is more of a battle shonen than a sports anime but it's still hype as hell

zzip711

I'm a vote for the "no thanks" collumn

Sharles Davis Kendy

Hell yeah blue lock imo is the best sports anime and the manga is hella lit

Sparky

Can't watch both at the same time... 2 different approaches to a sports anime. They will interfere with each other.

googlek1 .

i dont hate the show. I think youre not grasping the sexualization of Marin and you’re minimizing it but thats besides the point now. No, most people here dont think they would enjoy this show and thats okay. You enjoy it and thats fine. Period.

Lau

This is peak romance

Coils J

After giving it some thought I would say that if it was for the manga blue lock is a must read, but the anime doesn't capture the essence of the manga, it has a couple of good episodes but that's it. For recommendation I would say Yuri on Ice, is an 11 episodes anime about Ice Skating, there's no manga so no worries about spoilers. And also Hajime no Ippo and dunk slam are good options too, a bit more serious but with a lot of humor. And for calm enjoyable watch I would say Sk8 the Infinity, pretty charming characters and good pacing

Edmon

You will enjoy blue lock for sure, I see some people recommending ao ashi, and while it is more realistic anime sports-wise, I didn't find it quite as fun as Blue Lock.

Денис Куличенко

I think a bit of people bad impressions comes from only having seen the first few episodes. The show has a “striking” premise (wink wink) and can be hard to stomach at first. But as the show explains itself I find it has deep layers of realism about the world of competition that are quite wise at times, and not to mention it’s extremely hype. I wholeheartedly think y’all would like it a lot.

CastSenpai

Ao Ashi is much better and actually talks about football. Blue Lock is a battle royale where football is just because its the most popular sports in the world.

Maxime Goettelmann

Been tempted to dive into the manga for Ao Ashi, since we've heard nothing about an additional season at this point.

WuXian Suibian

Tbh I think Ange will probably enjoy Ao no Ashi more than Blue Lock, and it'll be fine for your content flow if you replace Haikyuu with Ao no Ashi after it's done because it's a decently short series.

Nymph

omg i love your lie in april!

beannieswife

I'd love to see you guys react to Ace of the Diamond, I think that would be a better one than Blue Lock in all honesty

Mully997

Idk whatever you do about BL, as long as haikyu uploads dont change, i will be here. but i can see other supporters from your community are gonna complain about lack of variety since you are watching a long run HXH, a sport anime Haikyu and if you add one more sports with mobs and 86 ending soon, majority of the non-fan sports anime will leave ur community since there aint anything to watch and enjoy for them. and personally, i dont enjoy watching reactors who dive into a variety of animes at the same time. I have seen some couldnt handle the load and just messed up. I also stopped watching from them because they watch a lot and they dont even remember what they watch in the last episode becasue of so many animes they are watching, really spoils the mood of the audience. Just enjoy the anime you are currently watching, the other new animes wont disappear even if you delay them a bit.

bebe

lmao u said insecurity issues, lmao, an anime deviating from most sports anime wouldnt mean it's a good sports anime anyway. even KnB still has better plot.

bebe

Hell yea

Mohamed Nasser

it's not a hate, because after haikyu, it doesnt get me like haikyu does. Nothing exicting about it after watching a few eps and reading a few manga chps, if i want some superpowers and egocentric issues, i can go watch other animes. Haikyu influence over the audience will make BL look inferior anytime. It's gonna be good for those who enjoy superpowers and who havent watched a good sports anime before. Yea but definitely not for us, mainly me

bebe

its not about the hype or best arc, i just got bored of the egocentric issue in the plot so if the content is still gonna be centered around that, it's gonna be a no from me,

bebe

well if i dont feel like continue reading after reading up to that much, it means it doesnt get me feeling to continue and i dont think whatever the best arc up there wouldnt excite me either.

bebe

they can think they are the best but there is no one to support them, they cant win anyway so unless u are playing a solo player sports, idk whatever u say about it. if its a team sports, it gotta have teamwork.

bebe

YES, PLEASE!!!!

Harukawa

Finish haikyu first

Clément Creton

Yes, for sure! It’s a different type of sports anime than Haikyuu but I love them for those differences.

Lord Mongrel

I mean blue lock isn't really something crazy, before i haven't even watched sports anime since it bores me. But its funny how people suddenly care about logic and realism in anime

MPM

would be nice to see you guys react to kuroko no basket!

TiredRen

Yeah but I prefer hajime no ippo

Ibraheem

Except they are 😂 look at the interviews of the best athletes in the world, they all have crazy egos. You don’t even have to go as far as the best, if you look at NBA rookies, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen players get drafted and when asked about their confidence in press conferences, they already think they’re the best in the league. Zlatan even said this in a recent video, he believes he’s the best player to ever touch a football, most people would disagree but this just goes to show how much athletes at that level have egos

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Says who? A bunch of 5 yos that watches anime for action and flashy animation? It only got the hype because Isayama talked about it. Nothing more

Vidura Lakshan

Feel free to react to it since that's what most of the fans prefer. But I realy didn't like Blue Lock. It was just not for me. Would be nice if you could react to Ao Ashi tho

Thorfinn's left nut

Finally someone like me. I too liked Ao Ashi more than Blue Lock and even I dropped Blue Lock after ep2. It was too cringy for me. Also, the Ao Ashi manga is seriously good

Vidura Lakshan

Personally I really loved Blue Lock and I think the characters would appeal to you to

Summi773

I really liked "Blue Lock," and even though it is a sports anime, it's really different. I would love to see your reaction to it!

Dawid Hebda

Bluelock is fire and as someone who competed at the highest collegiate level (D1), alot of the philosophies and such ring true IRL as well

Cassii

Your argument isn’t holding up, I never said I liked that I simply told you it’s something I can overlook because again it’s not in a sexual manner. I explained it’s from gojos perspective and he’s a loner from high school who gets puts in awkward scenarios where Marin is showing part of her body and he gets uncomfortable and awkward. I simply didn’t see this show as that perverted, there’s only one scene that is a bit sexual and I’m sure you know what scene that is but again nothing happens it’s an awkward situation. If Carlie and ange get bothered by stuff like it’s in this show then I agree maybe they shouldn’t try it out. But for me the reason I liked the show is the chemistry/dialogue in the relationship between the 2.

Raul Velazquez

Just throwing my hat in to say that Blue Lock didn't really grab me. Feel free to react to whatever you find interesting, though. Reactions are always more fun if the people are really into it, rather than going through the motions watching something other people deem better.

N

but its not, haikyu is just objectively better. I play football at club level mind you and should have a biase towards it but blue lock is just unrealistic and mid

souma shou

nah blue lock is mid ngl

souma shou

Personally, I dropped it on Ep2. The themes and philosophy of it were not for me. Of the two soccer (football) anime that came out in the summer of 2022, I liked Ao Ashi better. For me, I preferred the more realistic approach to the story, and the characters were more relatable - more like Haikyuu. In the past, I have enjoyed other sports anime including, “Run with the Wind, “an anime about a college track team that is centered around strong character development. RWTW had the same production team as Haikyuu, the same Composer, and several of the same VAs. Ace of the Diamond, is a nice slow-burn story with great character development and plenty of hype Baseball moments. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I am NOT a fan of Baseball, but loved the characters, and their story, plus I learned to at least appreciate the game more. If you like hype then Blue Lock is for you, and it is in the end your choice as a content creator, but it won’t be a show I watch. I was here for your Vinland Saga, and stayed for your Haikyuu and 86 content.

WuXian Suibian

Who? Blue Lock is the best sport anime? Said no one ever.

Nguyen Anh Quan

my problem with blue lock is I find it hard to relate into. It really looks exciting thats why i gave it a shot but it doesn't resonate with me. I thought it will be like KnB which I absolutely love but i dont classify it as a sports genre.

myel

No one says this 😭

le

exactly my opinion. Haikyuu is objectively better with a better storyline and cast of characters, but but Blue Lock is so FUN! and a concept a bit more interesting than "playing high school volleyball"

Martina

Blue Lock is REALISTIC?! What kind of super powered mutants are on YOUR sports team?!

Smash Bran'Discootch

oh no ofc jobless reincarnation is much more perverted in that manner; but Marin is exposed in many episodes in very little clothing in a very sexual way, even if in the end their relationship is pure. That is also fanservice, marin, a 15-16 year old, in purely a bikini with weird angles and in a sexual situation, is heavy fanservice. Dont get me wrong, youre allowed to like that, i dont even know you, but think about Carlie and Ange... do you really think they would react nicely to this? have you ever seen them react to something like that? The heaviest fanservice thing theyve ever reacted to is chainsaw man. thats it. And Id rather not watch those kind of shows bc it makes a lot of us uncomfy tbh.

Lau

also haikyu fans have insecurity issues with it bc a lot of people say blue lock is the best sports anime lmao

Brandon Gomez

blue lock is really good and different from most sports animes too

Brandon Gomez

I feel like most of the haikyu audience hates/has some kind of blue lock problem. Fact its not the best sports anime but definitely one of the most entertaining, there is constantly something going on. Watch one episode and decide for yourself!

MPM

If you guys want to watch a different type of genre later i highly recommend Fruits Basket ❤️

Frida BØ

we just had high expectations bro its not our fault

bebe

personally i think blue lock is worth the watch for sure but i would do it once you finish haikyuu rather than having two sports anime going at once!! i would love to see y’all react to it though

storm (kasey) !

I honestly don’t have any desire to watch another sports anime. What about an absolute classic like, “Anohana?”

The Great Santini

It very different from haikyuu

nongnong gs

everyonenis totally disagreeing which is disappointing— but its a really good anime, I highly recommend :)

tsumusamu

Moriarty the Patriot or Ranking of Kings tho Ranking of Kings not finished.

Lapisstories

I was episode 3 when I dropped it. Not sure if I liked it or I had high expectations cause I loved Haikyuu!! and Slamdunk lol.

Lapisstories

maybe finish more shows than add another. Im only here for 86 right now.

Finnishdoggo

personally not that interested in blue lock sadly, think haikyuu was a lot more enjoyable imo~ and as a lot of people have suggested above, kuroko no basuke would be a great option!

cherry park

I was prejudiced to Food wards at first but hell it was so good that i binged it from S1-S5

myel

I’d really prefer you watch a different genre and not watch two sports animes at the same time it won’t be that exciting and fun for y’all or us Watching a diff genre esp comedy romance or mystery would be a great variety of what you’re watching rn also I don’t think you have replacement for bocchi? Don’t remember After haikyuu blue lock is fine

Алта

Haikyuu and Blue Lock are polar opposites - one focuses on teamwork, the other one’s anything but that. But blue lock’s pretty fun too, just not as realistic to real life footy.

tanzim haque

I feel like almost everything that you watch after Haikyuu will look mid, because it is really a top tier sports anime. Personally, I found Blue Lock very entertaining but it looked like science fiction and I lost interest over time because of that. I would recommend 'Ace of the Diamond' (baseball), which had me crying of joy/pain more than any shoujo anime ever :'). The main difference with Haikyuu is that AOD has way more angst and is not always a feel good story. It is extremely realistic in showing the struggle of competitive athletes.

Vanessa

i think other sports anime are a better option like ace of diamond (baseball), hajime no ippo (boxing), yuri on ice (figure skating). in my opinion sports anime are better when they are more realistic (? i feel like it hits different and still has its epic moments (like haikyuu). blue lock is not bad ? but i don't think it's haikyuu level

karin をに

I think there are other shows that I would be more interested in watching you guy react to more than blue lock, atleast me personally

imvirals

Nothing to do with sports anime... but what about "My dress up darling"??? I would like to see Angelooouuu reaction

Fredi Mella

its definitely good but a little overhyped. u guys should enjoy it though

Redback

Always excited for what you guys watch. I just don't want you to take on too much! Adding another show to the reaction playlist seems like a lot, for both you guys and us (imo). But after Haikyuu, sounds dope!

Derek

Personally not as much of a fan of this one. I think the premise is kinda interesting for a sports anime but I didn't think the characters were as compelling as some other sports shows.

HyperionMist

I have to admit I was planning to watch it when it aired but never got around to it. Might be something to put on my list of shows to watch next. ☺️ March comes in like a lion is another great show. That I should have added to the list. Completely slipped my mind. Maybe I'll add it now.

Stefanie

Please yes, Blue Lock was so good and might end up being as good as Haikyuu. Sports anime are some of my favorites, Kuroko No Basket is another amazing sports anime worth checking out one day

Matt Golding

LETS GOOOO

Muni

Yes please, it is absolutely so much fun, and in such a different way than haikyuu, yall would love it

imersity

Yeah i hope its not a bonus series. Hunter hunter is already gonna take over a year at this pace amd adding another show to the line up will take away from alot of the other shows. Now i could see it happening if it was a replacement to something they are almost finished with and hopefully that's the case

Tae Kellz

hajime no ippo good old box anime

shion333

BLUE LOCK IS PEAK IDK WHY PEOPLE ARE HATING ON IT

Rameez Malik

PLEASE WATCH BLUE LOCK

Rameez Malik

YESSSSSS

Rameez Malik

I agree with a lot of the above comments on other worthwhile sports anime, Hajime no Ippo is goated. Or other anime in general. But if you are into the sport and crazy people, blue lock may be for you!

SharkSkin

PLEASE YOU WOULD LOVE IT

syd

Slam Dunk >>>>> All sports anime

Mojira

As a blue lock manga reader and haikyuu manga reader i would like to say that bluelock manga is by far better than haikyuu (haikyu is still so good) and the anime will not disappoint you the only problem i see is it has 1 season so you will have to wait obviously which could be a drag but thats all up to yall

Coils J

same, i couldnt finish blue lock either. it lost my interest along the way

bebe

I cannot speak for everyone, especially as someone who didnt finish Blue Lock. Their theme is not for me. :< I prefer you guys finished HAIKYUU first then Blue lock or other sports. I have other suggestions for sports anime tho: 1. Yowamushi Pedal (cycling) but its not "hyped" so idk if this will work well on YT if u had a time you can watch it on your own! 2. Diamond no Ace (baseball) 3. Hajime no Ippo (boxing)

myel

Blue Lock is not good. It’s mid at best. If you’re going to do another sports anime that isn’t even the first or second best when it comes to soccer, let alone other sports. Giant Killing and Days are both infinitely better, and even Ao Ashi is better. When it comes to other sports anime, Run with the Wind, Tsurune, Yuri on Ice, and Ping Pong are amazing, and short. Yowamushi Pedal, Hajime no Ippo, Daiya no Ace, and Kuroko’s Basketball are amazing, but longer.

Elli

YAy a fellow YowaPeda enthusiast! It's rare to find someone who likes yowapeda. :< And it's so good too! Agree on Dia no Ace ~ the first episode is a already a hooker!

myel

have you seen yowamushi pedal? for me this is the 2nd best after Haikyuu!

myel

Just a heads up is that Blue Lock would have very long wait times in between seasons since the manga is ongoing. So most likely will be years in between of waiting.

Edward Michaelle

I feel like the same things could be said for Re:Zero (popular series, unique premise, and new season coming soon), but that's a can of worms I probably shouldn't open. 😅 They've tentatively committed to watching it someday, so I'll be waiting patiently, but your comment reminded me of it for some reason. lol

Merfhew

Yes you should definitely react to blue lock. It’s a really popular anime and season 2 of it and new movie is going to come out next year so it’s best to watch it now. It will also help new people to watch ur channel as it it invites a lot of new people to your reaction because of blue lock and how unique it is. And u guys will surely love it

mohamed rafee

Question. Would this be a potential bonus series you're adding to the lineup, or would it be a potential replacement for something you're currently watching? If it's the latter, do you have any alternatives? I know you try to balance between genres and tones, so I'm not sure another sports show is needed right now. Sorry, but I'm firmly in the "No thank you" camp for Blue Lock reactions.

Merfhew

Well you said erotic content which is usually sexual things. It does sexualize a little bit but I think it’s in a tame tone because the characters are in high school afterall and it’s doing it to show gojos thought process imo and how he feels. If you were in gojos shoes as a loner high school boy I’m sure you’d feel the same way when put in the awkward situations he’s put in by Marin. Idk I just don’t think the show is bad in terms of that compared to other shows like jobless reincarnation. But if they’re bothered by things like that then I guess it’s not a good recommendation, I just really liked their wholesome vibe and chemistry to where I overlooked the fan service.

Raul Velazquez

weird? ecchi does not mean it contains sexual intercourse, thats called hentai. And its not just a little bit of fan service, it is a lot, specially in the first half of the season. And its fan service of a teenage girl. I agree that the relationship is cute and they are cute; but its not denying the bothersome sexualization they do with Marin. Ecchi is different from hentai in the fact that ecchi will include/focus on sexual content/situations, while hentai is directly porn.

Lau

Honestly i didn't like it so i would rather see you react to another K-drama 😊

Rubie

Yess, 100% recommend blue lock

Crescent

Might be more interesting for Ange since it's football, but I can't recommend the anime. Haikyuu is just better, so it would be a "no" for me.

Phil

Nah you gotta watch blue lock. During or after haikyuu, especially since ange got a soccer background

blr0n

I used to think I was the only one who loved it so much but there are a lot of us out there! It is really incredible. As you can kind of tell from some of my picks (Sumo, Chihaya, Snow White Notes) I particularly like anime when it introduces things from Japanese culture that we are less familiar with in the west.

Khalayx

this is an amazing list, i loved all of these titles :) !!

uchenna

I love Chihayafuru! I really would love if more channels would give it a try!

RPSiege

I think the anime is mid at best. I'd recommend Kuroko no Basket, that's a good sports anime. Also this is not a sports anime but I recommend JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Y'all would enjoy that anime.

vojeeisgaming

That is what I am thinking too.

Khalayx

I haven’t watched many sports anime, so I don’t have a lot of examples, but if you want a sports anime that has a stronger focus on characters(my cup of tea), Run with the Wind is great!

RPSiege

Snow white notes would be dope just to get ange's musical perspective.

Danny

I think Run with the Wind is the most satisfied I've ever been with an anime

Tina Dearing

Sports Anime: 1. Ace of Diamond (Baseball, incredible show, long running) 2. Hinomaru Sumo (Good characters plus learn about sumo) 3. Yuri on Ice (Not my favorite overall, but the animation quality is top tier) Other Shows about Competitive High School Clubs: 1. Chihayafuru (One of my favorite animes of all time. Will also improve your Japenese pronunciation just from watching. More romance than the others on these lists though.) 2. Your Lie in April (You will be sobbing. Individual rather than team competitions unlike the rest of these, but it would make great reaction content and is a very popular anime.) 3. Those Snow White Notes ( Listen to people shred on Japenese guitar, Ange might find this very interesting in particular. Probably a little less well-known, but very good.)

Khalayx

All of your suggestions are great. Chihayafuru is one of the best anime ever.

Tina Dearing

I agree! I would recommend Death Note!

Bibi

I'm hoping they do Ace of Diamond and I am guessing it is the more popular of the two, but Chihayafuru is one of my favorite animes of all time regardless of genre. Yuri on Ice has incredible animation as well. What I am saying is - good list! Food Wars is amusing and the first couple of seasons were good, but I'm not sure how these two would feel about how sexualized some of the animation is.

Khalayx

Not at the same time of Haikyuu if possible. Even for yourselves, for your enjoyment, and to avoid people going to either reaction comments and say "where Haikyuu? where Blue lock?" which people already do for other series but you get it lol

Araragi Senpai

Lol no they are not. There are people like that, sure, but not most of them. The Blue Lock system is the most stupidest sport development sytem ever created.

Nguyen Anh Quan

I'm pushing for Ace of Diamond but the animation quality of Yuri on Ice is very high, that's a good recommendation as well. Plus its a short show.

Khalayx

Came here specifically to recommend this. Ace of Diamond is a very strong contender for best sports anime of all time. Similar to Haikyuu (I think even better personally) as Carol Yu says.

Khalayx

Pass on Blue Lock. I would rather see you do Eyeshield 21. It is a fun one involving American Football. The manga it was based on was by Murata.

R2D2TS

Would've preferred Kuroko no Basket

CandykOh

I just waiting for KONOSUBA 😭😭

Adan Aban

Weird because there’s literally no sex in the show or even close to it. Just a little bit of fan service, I think their relationship is super pure either way.

Raul Velazquez

no, the anime is literally under the ecchi tag, which is a genre that CONTAINS fan service and is erotic content. Theyve watched anime with some fan service before, but they havent watched an ecchi before. If you knew them I dont think you would suggest this. Im not saying its wrong of you to like that anime, just something that does not fit the shows they watch at all.

Lau

Yes 100% watching it after Haikyuu is so interesting as it focuses on elements of sport completely differently.

RingoStarz

Be fr 😭

le

Na preferably not

fresh

Ehh blue lock has its moments but its a mid anime. The only peak sports anime aside from haikyuu is hajime no ippo.

Josh Migos

Personally, I don’t think there should be any rush for you to watch Blue Lock. It’s pretty different from Haikyuu, so I honestly don’t feel a lot of overlap(aside from being sports anime), and I admit it is fun, but I don’t love it by any means. Again, it’s just my opinion, but I love Haikyuu for the games/sport on top of the great characters. It almost feels like I’m not exaggerating when I say I love all the characters. In Blue Lock, I might be able to say I love one? And even that feels like I’m grasping at straws. With all that said, if you guys are curious about it, it’s still a fun show!

RPSiege

I would like to recommend a niche but super good anime called nurarihyon no mago.

souma shou

based

souma shou

true, should watch hajime no ippo or kuroko no basket

souma shou

not really. I would rather you guys watch hajime no ippo or kuroko no basket

souma shou

Heavily sexualized? Yeah no it’s not. Has a little bit of fan service but it’s definitely not heavily sexualized..

Raul Velazquez

YES, ABSOLUTELY! I binged watched the first season in literally 2 days, it's so hype! while objectively I think Haikyuu is better, Blue Lock has a more interesting premise and like I said, it's just very fun and hype to watch.

Martina

i dont think they would like that one bc of the heavily sexualised minors in it. Knowing them, I wouldnt say this is a good recommendation.

Lau

Blue Lock is an absolute blast. It's corny and over the top, but it is unabashed hype and it's really really fun.

JadonTheEternal

Should watch my dress up darling tbh

Raul Velazquez

I would but after haikyuu is over, it’s definitely not as good as haikyuu but the animation is great.

Raul Velazquez

Dianond no Ace (baseball⚾) is another great one! Good story plotlines, epic epic moments, and nice character arcs and developments. Also it portrays competitive players go through psychologically in a rather realistic way. And in a way like Haikyuu and it doesn't really have a main character and every character gets to shine! Yowamushi pedal is another great sports anime, and as the name suggests is about competitive cycling. It is fun and exciting and it also has really lovable characters!

Carol Yu

U miss the point, BlueLock is not saying teamwork is bad, damn near half the season was about finding “chemical reactions” or in other words, “teamwork”. It does however focus heavily on the individual and how that individual ultimately affects the team.

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Its my favorite sports anime its soo hype.

Casval

Ironically, Bluelock actually shows in a very roundabout way that you need teamwork. I swear people just watch it and completely miss the point it’s trying to convey because of the flashiness or selfishness of the players. I could write on and on about how Bluelock actually facilitates teamwork but in a very different approach than other sports anime’s and it’s main focus is in fact on the individual players confidence

LuciusArtoriusCastus

U legit stopped right before the best arc 😭

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Blue lock is fun :)

SunnyhuunS

Run with the wind is so good!!

Frida BØ

Lots of good sports animes but that ain't it

Muz

I think he means the mentality of really successful players, most of them are incredibly egotistical like in BL

LuciusArtoriusCastus

A lot of athletes are like this, you would be surprised. The higher the level you play (granted it’s outside of a school or college) the more selfish players are and also the better they are. I don’t think it’s a coincidence

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Definitely watch blue lock because it is very competitive

Maya Coleman

Wonder why u think it’s dogshit if you like the manga? The animation isn’t good but I wouldn’t say dogshit, I watched like 12 episodes and was so interested by it I couldn’t wait for the second cour and decided to start reading the manga

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Watch Monster first. You already have a sports anime. Time to add a harrowing grounded (why is this an anime) serial killer mystery to your list.

Amrith

i would love to see your reactions to blue lock but i would prefer that you finish haikyu first then move one to another sports anime. Though if you do want to watch another sports anime i would recommend Hajime no Ippo since that one is more grounded in the excitement and realism of real boxing. Mind you because it is anime they do over dramatize some things in the sport like haikyu with the spikes/serves/setups but it is up there with haikyu in my opinion in its portrayal of the sport itself. Can't help but want to go exercise or move your body after watching a fight.

paladar blade

You stopped reading right before the best arc 😭 if you ever pick it up again, try to get to the u20 arc, it’s one of the most hype matches in animanga I’ve seen

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Curious, what other football mangas you think are better? I like BlueLock because it’s just a different philosophy from the generic teamwork makes the dream work, woohoo

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Ping pong the animation (ping pong)

Queen

Hajime no Ippo and Major are highly likeable and are the best sports manga including comedy, romance, hype and incredible "reactable" moments. Its golden ticket for any reactors, but since they're not overhyped "anime of the season", they are often dismissed. Just like Slam Dunk because "its old" while its a far better sports manga and anime than Kuroko no basket.

Maxime Goettelmann

you also need to think about what they would like and would not, not only what you do or dont like. I havent watched either so idk but I think y'all forget this when suggesting or recommending. Not trying to sound mean or anything!!

Lau

lmao BL is the most realistic sports anime? lmao that's the most bullshit i have ever heard

bebe

mmmm while I enjoyed and liked Blue Lock, I'm not entirely sure you both would enjoy the whole season (though I'd still watch your reaction to it haha). I'd suggest stick with Haikyuu for sports for now and maybe introduce another genre or just keep with the ones y'all enjoy and know (: I wanted to suggest a couple titles (not sports related or intended to be substitutes for sports anime, but additions) for maybe future options: Dororo (demons and samurai, by mappa), The Ancient Magus' Bride (fantasy, magic, supernatural), Re: Zero (this one is an isekai, tbh I dont know if you would love this genre but maybe look into it or if someone else suggests it) and Made in Abyss (fantasy, mystery, adventure); I would also love to see you guys react to Alice in Borderland if you havent seen it yet, its not an anime, but adapted from a manga, its on Netflix and I am 100% sure you both would like it! I'd also suggest to react to some movies, even though I know it would be hard to edit them, maybe you can do timer reaction to these: A silent voice (drama), Your name (drama, supernatural), Suzume (same creators as Your name) and maybe some studio Ghibli movies! Sorry for the long long and boring text, this was just in case y'all ever need or want to think about new recommendations (for any time in the future) :D

Lauraa Rodríguez

Diamond No Ace > Blue Lock But my vote is for Food Wars! It'll be really interesting to see you guys try out some of the recipes too haha.

Charlie

I do believe two more "serious" type sports anime would not be well received, but you could always go for the more light sports anime, with less episodes and more slice of life things to it, like Hanebado! or Harukana Receive and similar.

すもも麻子

For me personally this is not something I would prefer. I don't like shows like Blue Lock or Kuruko no Basket where ppl have special powers/moves that look like they are from a super hero show. If I want to watch some teenager with special powers to level up there are a bazillion other shows that come to mind. I am with everyone who is of the mind to finish Haikyuu first and THEN pick up another sports anime. As for what sports anime, my choices are probably not as click baity as things like Kuruko or Blue Lock, but they are shows that I really enjoyed. 1) Diamond no Ace (baseball) 2) Yuri on Ice (figure skating) 3) Free! (swimming) 4) Chihayafuru (Karuto) 5) Run with the wind (Marathon relay running) 6) Stars Align (Soft Tennis) 7) Tsurune (Archery) 8) Food Wars (competitive cooking) 9) Welcome to the Ballroom (competitive dancing) edit: 10) March comes in like a lion (Shogi) I'm curious as to what you will pick next. 😊

Stefanie

Better sports anime are Run with the Wind and Yuri on Ice, both are nice and short as well.

Tina Dearing

No to Blue Lock. I would really really love to watch them react to Ted Lasso if they want football/soccer content it would be immensely entertaining, one of the great shows.

Tina Dearing

The show is miles from the manga, but I’ve seen a lot of comments here about personalities specifically, not a critique on the anime, but the characters specifically. In that case I think they are either misunderstanding characters or just missing the point completely

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Definitely not true. I own the manga, the manga is great. It’s just that the show is not. At least in my opinion. And many others

Floch

Yes blue lock

Hertog

Y’all should def watch BlueLock, it’s super enjoyable and thought provoking honestly

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Everybody hating on BlueLock because characters have a horrible personality are completely missing the point of BlueLock 😂

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Maybe you could create another vote? I personally would watch it but probably drop after a few episodes.. blue lock is great for sure but it's kinda mid compared to other sports anime.. especially haikyuu.. And yeah i watch and read blue lock manga until the last update, still think it's kinda "yeah it's good i guess" But i personally want you guys to wait until haikyuu finish.. to keep variety of the genre. There's other great show, and i'm waiting for it.. For example i'm waiting for someone to vote frieren from this season.. it's a beautiful fantasy anime that have really high score currently, and i think you guys would really love the show..

mpb

Fr, how he gonna discredit an anime after 2 episodes 😭

LuciusArtoriusCastus

I disagree, it misses out on the generic teamwork trope because it aims to showcase the ego that superstar athletes have. I’m not a superstar athlete but I play basketball and one of the things I wish I knew earlier was the confidence you need to be a good player, sometimes it’s even good to be delusional. Often times a rookie will get drafted to the NBA and in interviews you’ll hear about how they already think they’re the best in the league, obviously it’s not true but it’s that sense of self that got them as far as they did. Bluelock explores that aspect of the psyche and of course it’s heavily exaggerated and there are aspects of the anime that you would not see in real life football, but it’s still a good interpretation of the mindset of the best athletes in the world. It was originally written to critique the Japanese sports mentality after they were knocked out of the 2018 World Cup, I think it does a good job at highlighting a part of sports that nobody ever talks about in a good way which is ego.

LuciusArtoriusCastus

The reason I bring forth the idea of realism is because I thought it would be easier for Ange to relate to.

Queen

You watched 2 episodes and made that conclusion, you shouldn't be part of the discussion.

Cr33pit

I'd really love to see AO Ashi, a football (soccer) anime.

Kevin Seemangal

i think ange would like it since he is a cr7 fan . it's a good soccer/football anime

ARYAN SINGH

No, anime doesn't have to be realistic to be good. But not being realistic doesn't equal good either. Ao ashi is the superior football manga, blue lock is more of a power fantasy with football theme.

Nguyen Anh Quan

The team nature of the Japanese football is a strength not a weakness. No one likes the up themselves sports stats. They just kick a ball

Aaron Wright

You should finish Haikyuu first in my opinion. That way you can see the difference in these 2 sports anime

HN Tamim

Team is what makes sports

Aaron Wright

Blue lock the most realistic? The fuck? I cringed everytime i hear ego talk about his stupid philosophy.

Nguyen Anh Quan

the characters aren't terrible people, they're competing in a competition which is the entire point of the anime...

Mast

Only selfish people care about the individual over the team, sorry to break it to you.

Aaron Wright

I haven't watched any sports anime so it isn't something I'm excited for but apparently it's one of the better ones, so go for it if you'd like.

Noctislolig

I’d rather they wait and just keep one sports anime. As someone with no interest in sport I don’t want half the reactions to be sport. Let’s keep the genres diverse so everyone has something to look forward to

Aaron Wright

It totally misses the point on everything sports related imo

Aaron Wright

I mean an extra reaction is always good but if it's at expend of a different anime then i would rather not because there are so many better one out there.

Nguyen Anh Quan

same

Sergi Tubau

I would personally not watch it

Knight

As someone who doesn’t like sports anime at all, I’d rather they keep a variety of anime types than more sports, I already don’t watch hunter or haikuu. I think they should have a spot go each genre and then go through them that way. So we maintain a variety of shows to watch

Aaron Wright

Blue Lock is great

Torben Brüggemann

I found it not very interesting story wise and the characters all terrible people, I bounced off after two episodes, I’d rather they watch more of the absolute classics, and maybe watch bluelock in the sports anime slot

Aaron Wright

I personally really liked it and think you would really enjoy it! As an alternative though, if you liked Haikyuu you might enjoy Kurokos Basketball - one of the most popular sports anime and it has an actual end. Characters all have their own specialities etc.

Jack2142

To be honest I have zero, I’m currently only here for 86, so I’ll be around for that at least anyway. I have no interest whatsoever in sports anime. And I bounced right off bluelock, But you do you. I’d rather more 86 to get to the cool parts sooner but that’s me. I’d rather you wait till haiku is done since I already don’t watch that, or hxh

Aaron Wright

Ace of Diamond/Blue Lock but after Haikyuu

matchaa

Sure, but i'd prefer if you watched it after Haikyuu is finished

Sydonis

I would rather have you guys watch another show or more Haikyuu.

Stryfe

I'm surprised to see the Blue Lock hate in the comments, it's my favorite new anime since JJK and I think you'd both love it.

Mast

You mean Frieren here right? Yeah I saw the trailer and read a short introduction of the story then I soon started to read the manga, I just couldn't believe no one ever explored such plot idea before, you just know there will be good stories

Jason

Hard approve.

Wick

I'd like to see a Free! reaction. Or a horror anime for October like Another.

AttackRunRepeat

I have read up to 100 chp tho it didnt keep me wanting to read, its a shame

bebe

yea i was about to go read after that season man i was so sad to see those few starting chapters

bebe

I'd prefer if you have more diverse shows instead another sports anime, so a mystery or a romance or comedy or horror... But at the end whatever you'll enjoy will be the most fun to watch.

AiraKT

Blue lock should have made it the better show, but the pacing let's it down. Ao Ashi doesn't aspire to the same heights but it's executed better. If you want intense shonen football watch Blue Lock, I find the premise a lot more entertaining as a big football fan. If you want a good based story about a teenager in middle school wanting to be a footballer watch Ao Ashi.

JGaffney90

100% the next sports anime has to be Blue Lock!!

Mike Donohue

I don’t ever want to be negative, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Not very good. No where near as great as Haikyuu

Floch

as a blue lock fan, i do not recommend u guys to watch the anime, it is very poorly directed and animated, the manga is much much better

Adriano Cabral

Diamond No Ace would be better but Blue Lock is fine :)

Kolja

Yes I also like this part about Aoashi more than Blue Lock, but I think they need to work on their animation and the movement of the players. It's not that good in these aspects.

Aizensalami

W

Toidleboy

Yes would love to see Angelo get hyped up crazy with blue lock

Jamel Cornish

yeah i think aoashi has that realistic but hype energy haukyuu has

민준 김

Ehhh if you want something much more similar to Haikyuu i would much more strongly suggest Aoashi rather than Blue Lock. The themes and style is much more similar and realistic focused on soccer and not the unrealistic more "shonen-esc character powers" and setting/situation in blue lock. Blue Lock is not similar to Haikyuu really at all in the way its executed, while Aoashi is the comparison for a sorta Haikyuu soccer and much more character/team focused while diving deeper into how the game of football (soccer) is played and the aspirations of the players. Kuroko no Basket is also a great one for basketball on the other end of it, that's my feedback at least.

Toidleboy

After Haikyuu please! Watching two sports anime at the same time is not a good idea guys

Akhil Jonas

Ikr, and I think it would be the first original anime that is not based on any manga or light novel on this channel? I could be wrong tho

Jason

It's still nothing to lose your head over lol, calm down please. I only suggested it cos they seemed interested to start Blue Lock soon (I could be wrong though) and also I know people who like to watch different sports anime in parallel for the hype, myself being one of them.

Meg

ohh lycoris recoil, that one was really good.

bebe

no no it's still ridiculous to even suggest that

bebe

I was just thinking you guys should watch Blue Lock after that most recent heated debate on the Haikyuu reaction! There would be tons of discussion about individual versus team that I think would be really fun. Ange would get really into it I'm sure.

Kolton Nay

Relax my friend it's just a suggestion, not an expectation. Nothing to lose your head over :)

Meg

Would love to see you guys react to Blue Lock! Especially when Ange plays football, I think he would pick up things even quicker than Haikyuu. Although I do agree Blue Lock should be replacing after you finish Haikyuu. The slot can be filled with a different genre to keep the variety in the period of time, there are still a lot of great anime to choose from. Death Note, Call of the Night, Lycoris Recoil, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End... etc. these are the anime I wish to watch your reaction that I can think of atm.

Jason

Would be awesome!

BadTesla

You kidding? This would be EVERYTHING! 😂

Ordinary Guy

Lol, this would be something 😂

Queen

Instead of Blue Lock, I'd rather have you guys watch Food Wars 😂😂😂 Food Wars has the kind of competitiveness like that of Haikyuu Also I highly recommend Ace of Diamond. It's the best sports Anime (well, for me atleast) out there with no super powers or anything like that. It's Baseball btw.

Ordinary Guy

Would personally love to see ATLA

Nemo

Would definitely be down for Blue Lock but I think watching it after Haikyu is better!! :)

emma

Would Skate the Infinity be considered sport?

Edmon

I totally understand that. As a manga reader tho, BL will definitely get better in later seasons

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Honestly, yes. If they have the time for more reactions, I'd rather they use it for more Haikyuu episodes to finish it up sooner and then move on to another (sports?) anime, rather than add another sports anime right now.

Zakki

That's an awesome idea. Even if they're both about sports, Blue Lock has a pretty different tone about it and that will probably lead to some great conversations at the end. Ange mentioned in a video that football was his thing sports-wise, and due to how pumped up and competitive he gets, I think he would have a blast. It's meant to be hahaha Once you have seen some Blue Lock episodes, you start to realize that it's much deeper and clever than its "gimmick" would make you believe. I'm neurodivergent and what really got to me was the story's take on psychology and mastering your mind through conscious analysis. Also, it's a lot of fun. Hope you react to it!

ST Deville

terrible personalities lol yup

bebe

Overhyped. Not even the best football manga of this gen. Its fun, but nothing special. If you intend to keep a sports anime, Hajime no Ippo or Major are much much better choices.

Maxime Goettelmann

its not real tho?

bebe

It’s pretty good actually But I suggest you watch Kuroko No Basket it has top-tier animation and so hyped man or Hajime no Ippo if u want to SMASH SOME SKULLS!

SoNono

I'd rather you watch it after haikyuu, honestly I think it would be nice to give yourself some breathing room as well, though of course you know that best. But I've seen other content creators go balls to the wall with content, only to get burnt out and stop uploading, which would be the worst case scenario.

StackCanary

100% watch Blue Lock

Raden

DO U THINK THEY WOULD STOP AT THE END OF S2 OF HAIKYU TO WATCH ANOTHER ANIME BEFORE S3? i dont think so. of all these cmmts, this one is the most nuts lmao

bebe

Omg why would you even suggest a break between Haikyuu S2 and S3? You crazy? 😭😭 3 episodes a week for a 24-episode anime (like they've been doing with Haikyuu) is literally 2 months. Nuh-uh lol they can watch Blue Lock after they finish up what they currently have on their plate 😭

Zakki

Run with the wind is really good. I would say it's kinda slow but it's not bad for a good sports anime

bebe

fr, i enjoyed the manga up tp chp 100 but yea it gets meh

bebe

Great moments and also an engaging story. Not to mention the voice actors for Sukuna, Inosuke and Gojo being on it. Definitely a must watch

Nathan Kholamian

ohh yea yuri on ice and also the other anime with group ice skating? F i am forgeting the name, it's good too

bebe

Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of blue lock. Alot of the Characters have terrible personalities. But If you Two would like to watch it then, I say go for it

FatherWeeb

we have other genres to enjoy non-realistic things. so yea, i prefer to watch sports with more realistic plays. for BL, after ep 1, i even went to read manga but it got boring in the long run and i still havent turn back to it.

bebe

Agree with the people saying to check out BL after finishing Haikyuu. If possible, use that extra time slot for more Haikyuu.

MADHOUSE

i'd prefer if they just watch haikyu more and start those animes after finishing haikyu

bebe

OHH SLIME MY TOP ISEKAI tho, really enjoyed it

bebe

Absolutely down for it! I'm currently watching it as well. It's a hot cake for an anime on football

Amanda Sugatadasa

The real football, much needed

Ygjez

Let’s go!!! Yes plz

Chewiebacca

Absolutely down for anything from you guys ❤️

Callum

A SUGGESTION : why dont u double haikyu eps, finish it quick and then you can enjoy blue lock or any other sports anime because watching blue lock and kurokuno basket is fine because they are both sports anime with superpowers but watching haikyu and blue lock at the same time is A BIG ASS NO

bebe

OMG yes yes yes a thousand times yes! I would be so down for a Blue Lock reaction from you guys! Though I think it might be a good idea to watch it after you finish Haikyuu season 2 maybe? It's only 24 episodes so you could watch it after Haikyuu S2 and before you get to S3, or if you guys wanna watch it in parallel that works too. But yes, would absolutely love for you to react to it. It's quite different to the usual sports anime but I think you guys will love it (can already imagine Ange getting hyped by it xD)

Meg

yea i dont think it will hit as much as haikyu

bebe

Or you could start the Fate/Zero? Not a sports anime but that would be cool too 🥳

Danny

nah @cruel sun, the same shit old ME gmaeplay is what's boring, and football is still a team game irl

bebe

the start is hyped indeed but the mentality repeatedly incited in it gets boring

bebe

Blue lock is hype. also kuroko no basket. Both shows are very hyped shows.

THanaaa Krit

I'd be interested but I'd personally want yall to start blue lock maybe after Haikyuu or once yall get closer to finishing Haikyuu

Carlos Cantu

YES!!! Blue Lock would be awesome!

Danny

Hell yes!

BlackBeard

If we're doing another sports anime, would much prefer Kuroko's Basketball!

AP

because i watched haikyu before BL, i would choose haikyu anytime, when you get joy of watching the teamwork accomplishments in haikyu, the plot in BL is kinda lacking for me

bebe

i would say ONE AFTER ANOTHER, not at the same time. both are very contradictory because one is focused on normal plays with teamwork centered but another one has opposite factors.it's gonna SPOIL THE MOOD and if u compare to each other which i dont want you to because they dont have any similarities except for being a sports anime. But if u want to enjoy them both of the time, i guess it cant be helped then, but please dont reduce the amount of haikyu eps per week. thats all i ask

bebe

It's a pretty good show with a mix of superpowers.

Nasty

we neeed faster HK reactions but Blue Lock is cool

Ricsson

I wouldn't mind Blue Lock reaction but I would recommend doing it after Haikyuu! That way you guys don't have to juggle too many shows simultaneously. I would love to have more reactions of Haikyuu per week if possible (but that could be due to my bias of Haikyuu 😂). Also, I think blue lock is a good show with just 1 season so far but it isn't something that I would highly recommend people to watch. Other sports anime I would recommend are Aoashi, Big Wind up, Ace of Diamonds and Hajimne no Ippo. But in my opinion Haikyuu is the best sports anime if not one of the top rated animes of all time 😊

Bibi

Honestly, I am not a big fan of all the weird unbelievable moves the players can do. Also, I wasn't really into blue lock until the last couple of episode.

Queen

Hell yes blue lock is fire especially cuz I am a football fan and it has a unique take on football and I love it

mohamed rafee

Ange was legit practically quoting a lesson from Blue Lock in the most recent Haikyuu reaction about how Pro players think/feel. But be careful Carlie, it may unlock Ange’s football addiction even more. 😂

CastSenpai

i feel like they would really enjoy it though

alexis ♡︎

Yes blue lock is cool

Kenju Storm

100% agree, I wanna see their reactions to BL

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Meh

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Blue lock is so damn good 😭

Elder Rivera

YES PLEASE OMFG

CastSenpai

omg please do blue lock!!!

DandyZombie

I really recommend it because the characters are so well written even tho the anime only has 11 episodes, I think they would connect with them so much

Edmon

omg i would actually loose my mind if they ever watch yuri on ice, only a few reactor have watched it

beannieswife

I would love to Watch it among with you . The animation is not that great but the story incredible. It is the best selling manga this Yeah and a Life changer. What is true for football is true in others Things

Erdanxela

Wasn't my thing but I'd watch anything from you guys 🤷‍♀️

Thilde

It lacks the team aspect on purpose. Bluelock is a critique on Japanese football after the World Cup in 2018. It aims to highlight the egos of superstar athletes which the Japanese football team at the time didn’t have.

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Yessss

Nate Banker

I think it's a solid watch because it is different from the stereotypical sports anime. So keep in mind it is essentially polar opposites to Haikyuu. Still good but a different type of good.

Stephen Zdgiebloski

Yesss

Zana

Yesssssss

Zana

For sure!

Tutty

I love KnB, I wish they could watch both. But after haikyuu, it would be interesting to see them react to BlueLock because it’s very different from a lot of sports anime

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Yesssss. Please if you guys are hype now OMG Blue lock brings hype and the music is fire. Good characters to enjoy and starting now you’ll see some similarities in characters from Haikyuu

Ace B

Oh my God yessss, Yuri on Ice is great! It would be great because it's short and sweet, so it wouldn't really take a spot on their schedule for too long.

Zakki

I would advise you to make a quick poll to gauge the interest better. :)

Nessa.

wanna state why its 'dog shit'?

Majoz

Bluelock is supposed to be a critique of Japanese soccer and it explores the Egos that superstar athletes have. If you read the manga, you’ll find that in a very roundabout way, the selfish egos that are created in BlueLock actually facilitate a lot of teamwork. There are definitely flashy elements that you wouldn’t see irl, but I think it’s a great anime that looks into the mindsets of a lot of great athletes

LuciusArtoriusCastus

they would like it 100%

Chrisiyyi

I wouldn't... But if you want to, go ahead, it's your channel : )

Nessa.

rly not similar except they both sports tho hh

Majoz

i didn't enjoy blue lock that much but maybe ya'll will, so if it gives you good vibes, try it!

beannieswife

I also love Kuroko but I don't think that they would enjoy it, especially after watching haikyuu

Edmon

so now anime has to be realistic to be good? blue lock is realistic? im sure there are people that can pull off every touch the on the ball like they do in the anime, ofcourse some of the shots arcs ar a bit too bendy, aoashi is good but i cant say it even competes with blue lock

Majoz

my picture is out of Blue Lock, so yes, I would be very excited.

Nagi

Haven’t watched it but i’ll watch it if you guys react to it! Seems like a lot of people like it

Frida BØ

An underrated sports anime is Run with the wind. Really good. Haven't watched Blue Lock.

Wectoz

Yes also Kuroko no Basket

MOB12

if you start another sports anime i’d personally much prefer kuroko no basket :)

dani simone

Yes

Iosua Valean

The team aspect is what makes Haikyuu boring

Cruel Sun

Some background, BlueLock was created after the World Cup in 2018 and from what I’ve heard, it’s a critique on the Japanese football team and the mentality that Japanese have around sports. It aims to highlight the psychology of great players and the egos they have. Blue Lock is a great sports anime to watch next because it completely flips what you’ve been taught about teamwork all your life. It’s like a slap in the face and it explores the psyche that many superstar athletes (and anyone successful actually) have and showcases what separates a good player from a great player, and that’s their mindsets. The animation can be a little weird at times but if you can overlook that, BlueLock is an extremely enjoyable anime that critiques Japanese sports mentality and what a lot of us have been taught our whole lives.

LuciusArtoriusCastus

And then bluelock or hajime no ippo

Chrisiyyi

Wrong, but the other shows are good too, kuruko no basket too

Chrisiyyi

HELL YES so much better than Haikyuu sorry not sorry

Cruel Sun

I liked it, but preffer kuruko no basket

Chrisiyyi

don’t get me wrong, i like blue lock, but I think its pretty far from what soccer actually is and it’s missing the team spirit. It’s more like a hyped up squid game

johan wejdin

Agree with the blue lock after haikyu comments. BL not bad but I can’t imagine watching them at the same time as haikyu

EyePStanding

Omg please! It’s so good and crazy

Alexa Mauldin

Overrated

Jay Craig

Nty

Chrisiyyi

Yes. I liked it a lot

Bob Loblaw

Honestly there are far better soccer/football animes, Blue Lock is good for like 3-4 episodes, and after that it's just dogshit. And that's coming from a Blue Lock manga lover.

ImZeaT

If you want to watch a sport anime, I would recommend Yuri on Ice, is about Ice Skating and was one of Mappa's production before they blew up, is really short and I think that both of you would enjoy it. Oh and the characters are inspired on real athletes.

Edmon

Also watch kuroko no basket, its one of my favorite ones, its a team and single player shining, a bit of a mix

Chrisiyyi

As someone who performs in high-level sports I’d say Blue Lock is definitely the MOST realistic out of the sports anime I’ve seen, as far as it focuses on individuals more than a team’s success! It makes for an extremely exciting and dramatic watch and I couldn’t recommend it more

Adam Shah

I think it’ll ruin the experience of the other- I’ve seen it happen :\

le

Watch with us plssss

Chrisiyyi

I feel that they are better soccer animes than blue lock like aoashi. Aoashi is apparently more realistic.

Queen

Bluelock is good

Kevin

exactly why they might wanna see them at the same time? they are counter opposites, if it was the same formula, then it would be to much

Majoz

Hi guys. Blue Lock’s a fun watch, but a bit single note as the show wears on, and in the long run doesn’t carry the same pedigree as Haikyuu. My highest recommendation would go to Kuroko no Baske (a basketball anime) for your next sports viewing. It’s up there with Haikyuu but in different ways

Zarehl

Definitely 💯. Blue lock has some of the loosest units in anime 😂

Kouey

Blue lock is fire

Luiz Doria

I personally loved Blue Lock, though I like the suggestion some people are making of waiting for after Haikyuu to watch. Just like Haikyuu is a mix of sports & slice of life, Blue Lock is a mix of sports and another genre (which I don’t want to spoil).

Leah

There are so many others show worth a watch instead of this. Like others said, switch genres, go for isekai

Wick

blue lock is amazing, just know you guys would love that shit, its so good

Majoz

I think like I've seen some others say, I definitely think you should check it out, but I'd personally rather you do it after Haikyuu. Firstly, it will help with Haikyuu withdrawal. Second, if it's possible to do more Haikyuu in the week then I'll take that option every time. And thirdly, they are quite different shows, but they might be similar enough in terms of hype that I don't think you should waste that ALL at the same time. But if the choice is Blue Lock now or Blue Lock never, I say go for it!

Jordan Henry

You guys should react to kuroko s basketball 🏀🏀

TumeloKhrono99

It is fun

Нургазы Андасов

what? blue lock is sick? its totally a sports anime, what are you on about

Majoz

but also if u guys are looking to switch up genres i really would like to see u guys react to an isekai. my number 1 rec for the genre is “that time i got reincarnated as a slime” it’s so good and honestly adorable and if you like OP characters you’d love it!!

alexis ♡︎

I would love to see your Blue Lock reaction! But you should do it in your tempo. If you have the capacities to handle another show, let's go for it!

OSL-Taubsi

Blue Lock isn't bad. I mean it's got some great animation. It's hard because i inevitably end up comparing other sports anime to Haikyuu. In that regard, Blue Lock doesn't really hold up. But without comparing it to Haikyui, it's not bad. I mean if you two reacted to it, I'd watch the reactions.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Blue lock is definitely a fun watch

Night Sterling

Blue Lock is fun to watch! I think you'll like it and it will make for a good reaction series as it has hype moments and badass characters. But overall, it's like an 8/10 anime. In real life, I like football much more than volleyball, but Blue Lock is not as good as Haikyuu. However, I think it will be very interesting to watch your reactions to it especially because Ange plays the game! The discussions will be nice :)

Aizensalami

For your own enjoyment I would watch them at different times!

le

Mobs almost done so just a little while more

Night Sterling

Personally I would recommend watching it after Haikyuu I really don’t think watching them at the same time is a good idea because it’ll spoil your perception of the other. Blue lock will seem unrealistic or too dramatic when watching it at the same time as haikyuu or haikyuu may seem too tame and not dramatic enough- while I love them both they’re really not made to be watched at the same time as they’re two completely different ends of the sports anime spectrum

le

I think it depends on you guys. Coz you have quite a number of shows currently. Too many shows during a time period usually stress reactors out and that's when the quality declines. But in the end it depends on your schedule.

Daamon

It’s the perfect counterpart to Haikyuu, also hide any tissue boxes in a 1km radius from Ange if u guys decide to watch it

RoZiiii

Not really that good of a show imo

Wick

I'm not into sports anime tbh so that'd be a no from me

KaijinGarou

Blue lock is pretty weird, not an actual sports anime imho. I much prefer Ace of diamond or Hajime no ippo but you do you

johan wejdin

Blue lock might not be as good as Haikyuu!! But you really won't find a show that generated hype in each and every episode as blue lock. Focuses a lot on individual than a team.. I am sure it will be quiet refreshing

Sid

I'd honestly rather have more Haikyuu eps per week instead of having Blue Lock added to the schedule now 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️ you can always watch it later

Zakki

Would love to see you guys react to blue lock its litterally the definition of hype

KawasakiGPZ

I think you guys should check out parasyte the maxium such a good dark anime!

makotheQ60

If you want another sport anime, watch Kuroko no basket.

Enora

YESSSS BLUE LOCK PLSSS

Ryan Williams

I'd be down for Blue Lock, but maybe you still gonna wait for it a bit since it's likely that Season 2 comes out around Spring/Summer next year.

BDMax

ok YES bc ange is super competitive and he played soccer but i will say it’s not on the level of haikyuu in many aspects

alexis ♡︎

Blue lock is amazing even if you are not football fan

Александр Хвищук

not the biggest fan of the show personally

Mickey

Blue lock hype

Heikki Huhtala

Ange will like it cause it’s soccer and it is a good anime but not as good as Haikyuu. Would definitely like to see it on channel at some point

Trent Claycomb

Blue Lock is OK, should consider Kuroko no Basket as well but is 3 seasons + 1 movie

Kaiser the Elitist

im still waiting for re zero 😅💀

Monkey D. Tomy

It’s really good! Think you guys would enjoy it!

Nick

yess!!

Ash

Blue lock not as good as Haikyuu and it lacks the “team” aspect of sports. But you might like it cuz it’s soccer

MrYinYang

Part of me wants to say, doing one sports anime at a time makes more sense, but on the other hand, Bluelock is a pretty amazing show and I would be 100% down for those reactions

FTN Chicken

I think it wld be nice, but if it is too much on your plate it can wait😄

Aries F

ABSOLUTELY 👍🏼👍🏼

allan

Blue luck is super hype, you guys will love it

Tristan Scholtens

Blue lock not my type of anime

Laylyvfavv

Blue lock is too gimmiky

baja

Given Ange’s background with soccer that could be fun 👀

Daniel Molina

Please OMG!!! Y'ALL WOULD BE SO HYPED

LisanAlGareeb

Blue lock is kind of mid in my opinion

MoD+

Hell yes omg

shmeki

Yea blue lock is hype 🔥

Kellan Hendry
