What hurts the most is that it was always Dimple wish to put mind control on Shigeo early on when they met. And this time when he actually manages to do it, he saves him. That's why I love Dimple so much, he is Shigeo's honest friend from day one, even if he's a bit weird sometimes.

Also, one thing I always forget is that Dimple really is just a ghost/spirit, meaning he can't interact with any non-psychic, let alone be seen. I always forget cos it's anime and there's plenty of funny spirite-y side characters that never complain about being incorporeal. So yeah, Dimple's desire to hold onto his 'ambition', his raison d'etra, and to want Mob join the ride makes a lot of sense.

2023-10-14 21:07:10 +0000 UTCDamn it, every time I watch EP6, I tear up. Reigen may be the best shishou/teacher to Mob, but Dimple was most definitely his best friend. Although he didn't realize it, Dimple always showed that he cared for Mob as he gave his honest opinions whenever Mob was worried about something. This was clearly depicted with Mob's monkey-shirt, where everyone kind of tip-toed around the thought that it was a hideous shirt, but without telling him; then, Dimple sees it and gives it to him straight for what it is, a lame shirt. The animation is so good as well. In terms of favorite episode, this sits just above S2's Mogami arc. The way Dimple brainwashes and sends Mob home was so touching, as Dimple waves to him goodbye in reassurance that everything is fine. And the episode ends with Mob figuring out how everything concluded at the Divine Tree, and that Dimple is no more. SHEESH, someone do something about these ninjas with their onions... I'm about to tear up just from writing this. Sorry, but can I give it up for Dimple's VA, who is one of my favorite VA's (out of the dozens of other favorites that I have π ), Akio Otsuka. Love how you can hear his voice breaking when he yells out some of his "Godly" moves. You guys only know him as Thorkell, but he's plays a lot of amazing characters in anime and games (Snake in Metal Gear series). If you guys ever watch Fate/Zero, you will understand. Looking forward to seeing the dimples Ange π΄ππ΄

2023-10-14 18:43:24 +0000 UTCbit of a longer comment as always but what was important about ending episode 5 on that i think was to show that dimple was the ONLY person in mob's life to actually tell him the truth about that shirt being kinda lame π everyone else either white lied or side stepped around it by telling him to just cover up or whatnot. same with when he was under the impression that he was getting stared at by a bunch of girls, dimple was the only one to not encourage his delusions (π sorry mob ily) i think it's almost fair to say that dimple sees mob for who he is in a different way than the other characters do. to teru mob is a rival, to ritsu he's an older brother, to reigen he's a disciple, to the body improvement club he's motivation, etc etc. but i think dimple gains nothing from him rlly than someone he just enjoys being around and spending time with and watching grow without any of the extra baggage. i think because he lacks those attachments he can be honest with mob in a way the other's can't. as a friend and nothing else yeah dimple wants to be a god but he also just wants to bring mob along for the ride with him. even if it started out as him wanting to use mob: during the separation arc with mob/reigen, we see dimple stick by him even when reigen tells him he's just a pet without reigen around to give mob a reason to use his powers. and dimple still stayed, even saying that might be the last time he and reigen meet, which tells us he was more okay with it than he lets on. he's a really sweet character that ended up growing on me, but ange was on that from the beginning lol!! and despite dimple's brash and honest words i think he really does care about others a lot. after all, even though his methods are questionable (understatement), every time he's tried becoming a god it was with the goal of bringing the people happiness. cant wait for the next episodes, thanks again for another great reaction!
