One Piece (Live Action) Ep 7 REACTION!

Some of those end scenes were EPIC

One Piece (Live Action) Ep 7 REACTION!

One thing I love about One Piece is that when people think about the 'best scenes' or moments from the show, among the top are usually not any fights or super bad ass moments but these super emotional moments. 'Help me' is absolutely one of my favorite and the Arlong Park arc as a whole is what really cemented me in. If we make it to Alabasta and Enies Lobby in the Live action you'll def enjoy some other really great emotional moments

MrOuijaII

like others have said, Nami's backstory is much more developed in the anime, hope you two give that a watch in the future

Ang

If you remember from the very first episode, in the ´´monologue´´ that luffy had with the bird, he said something like ´´I wanna gather a crew for my pirate ship, something around 10 people should be plenty´´. Thats more or less where the series is going:) I just noticed that again once I watched the live action since the first anime episode came out sooooo long ago:D

Kema

Arlong Park deserves an extended LA version, in a feature length format.. same goes for a few other moments coming in the future. I really hope Netflix consider this getting their own OPLA Movies like how the Anime did it, to cover the most important moments of OP that just wouldn't hit as hard when experienced thru a seasonal LA series due to time and budget.

xplorick

What if I told u Nami's backstory and that moment at the end there hits about 5x harder in the anime 👀 they still did it reeally well here tho! Dope reactions yo

SomeoneElse

Nami scene in the end is basically 1 on 1 from the anime, great job. I still like the anime better, the build up from the episodes and then that moment really hits hard. Maybe its because ive seen that one first that i preffer it more. Wished you guys saw that anime one first :( but its too long and prob never happen on the channel. There will be more crew members, but the pace of new ones is alot less but we miss still some very awesome characters

Garp is just being a nice grandpa and trying to protect his grandson from going astray. Irl, if I were a grandpa and and my grandson watched Narcos and said I want to become the next Pablo Escobar, I would be concerned too. But Luffy may label himself a pirate but he is every in every essence a different kind. All that talk about a new generation makes sense.

Nami's backstory is really the best! I think it's written really well, they nicely set up Nami's character in the beginning so her not asking for help makes sense until the end where she just CAN'T do it alone anymore 😭. And Luffy is just, the best Friend for everyone of all time. Also about the Garp thing yeah maybe there is a bit of control freak in there, but you have to remember that he was the one who brought in Gold Roger. He obviously doesn't want to see his grandson get murdered by the marines. Anyway last episode next! The ending is really sweet and really makes you want to go on another adventure with this crew! Have fun!

Y’all are deff right cuz the context around the scene is completely different due to the changes they made to the story. I guess i shoulda said arlong park is deff worth watching 😂

Daniel Molina

Yeah same here, I suppose the anime hits harder if you've watched everything leading up to that scene, but not on its own

QualityFreak

I already said it: his acting. He's not very good. He's OK when he has to be goofy but doesn't cut it for the scenes that are a bit more serious, like when he finds Merry's body. You can't tell me that was strong...

KaijinGarou

Bellmere never fails to destroy my emotional stability

Alejandro Garcia

I love that they've managed to keep the essence of everyone's emotional backstories and still move you to tears with it in LA. One of the best things about the One Piece anime is that it's so funny and silly one minute and will hit you hard in the feels the next. Only one ep to go this season so safe to say we're not getting any more people's sad backstories, but there may be more crew members joining in maybe in the next season and they may have their own stories to tell.

To spoiler-free answer your question, remember that in the beginning scene with Luffy, we hear him say he wants 10 people in his crew.

Just for trivia, the Nami scene is pretty much directly adapted from the anime. the one difference in Nami's backstory from the anime is that her sister Nojiko does know and Nami creeps back home to see her and have a time when she can truly let her act down and relax and it's a really sweet thing that the sisters still love and care about each other, even when Nami keeps everyone at a distance because Arlong will 100% use that to control her. I do love the way her story plays out, in that she has literally been breaking into and stealing stuff from marines, pirates and everyone else since she was 8 years old by herself and she's finally hit her limit with what she can think of to do by herself and finally asks Luffy to help her by letting him in and Luffy's never had a microsecond of doubt that she's his crew and friend and he's got her back.

I like Usopp's actor a lot! what don't you like about him? I think all of the main cast is very strong

Martina

I watched the LA first, haven't watched the anime, looked up the anime scene and honestly prefer the LA! I guess it comes down to which scene you've seen first

Martina

make sure to listen to the song at the end of the next episode!

Martina

And plus I was talking about garp not the rest of marines

RunAwayCloak

Never said all marines are good people just like in the real world all cops are not good ppl luffy is literally a terrorist every were he goes he leaves destruction 99 percent of pirates are bad people not all gang members are bad ppl as well but there still part of a gang

RunAwayCloak

you must be stupid my guy, marines in this world is just as bad as some pirates lmao, *pirates* doesnt mean bad people dude, if youve seen the anime you should know this

Majoz

I don't get how people agree with luffy being a pirate garp is in the right for wanting to stop him that's like your kid telling you mom dad i want to join a gang and become a gang member because its my dream. Your telling me that you would be like that's amazing, as long as your following your dream its ok no you would try and stop him or her from doing it.

RunAwayCloak

It was an impossible task to adapt it better but I liked the scene for what it was. No one is touching Nami’s original VA 😭🙏🏽

Daniel Molina

I would like to recommend two K-dramas: The King's Affection, with Park Eun Bin (Woo Young Woo) and Bloodhounds.

Rubie

fully agreed, like the live action did it well but sorry it doesnt compare to how the anime did it lol

Callum

that scene of nami asking for help in the anime is even better than it was here (although ill say they did it decent justice) but my god on the anime its just on another level with the voice acting, appropriate flashback and certain changes to the way luffy replies as well as how much he didnt know anything about namis backstory in the animeand just simply wanted to help a friend no matter what shes done

Callum

Nami's actress is Emily Rudd. I hear she was a huge One Piece fan even before the show and she holds this scene ('help me') in high regards and wanted to do her part to make it as good as they could get it. I think she succeeded, she was superb!

Barion

also luffy did mention in the first episode he'd like at least 10 crew members so who knows ;)

greyxwaren

yea the scene with nami at the end is straight from the manga/anime it's an iconic scene and the LA did it justice

greyxwaren

That end scene is almost one to one from the anime and it's one of the most iconic, so they tried hard to give it justice. When you eventually end up watching the anime, it would be cool to do like a scene comparison.

Sydonis

after the hat to nami scene in the anime/manga, it was then people realized that this isnt the normal shonen type of story, hence 1000+ episodes and chapters. Eiichiro oda's storytelling, creativity is amazing and his work ethic is inhuman

forestmarmot

He mustn't have had many roles so there's room to improve, sure. I think he can get there eventually.

KaijinGarou

Usopp just needs to commit MORE, and he will be good.

Kevin Campos

I was waiting for this since sync up don't include discussions 😥. From what I heard, season 2 has already been greenlit and on the making and they plan to do 12 seasons if things keep going well. That could possibly be enough for all currently existing anime if they skip filler and abridge some parts, as they already did in this season. Emily Rudd (Nami) did great in that scene. I think all of them are pretty good actors (except for Usopp, he's good casting but the acting leaves to be desired) but she clearly takes the cake out of the crew members. And they did the scene very well too in general, although it's still better in the anime. Especially Nami's flashback. I don't think they captured Bellemere that well. Her character and that flashback is 100 times better in the anime. The actress did fine, that's just not her personality. Guess we didn't have the time here to flesh it out. But other than that they did a great job.

KaijinGarou

For those who are only watching the live action and are not planning on watching the anime, do yourself the favor of looking up the original “Help Me” scene. It is sooooo powerful 😭 still my fav scene in the show, even after 1000+ episode.
