Barriers can be made without those nails. The nails are for someone using a barrier that isn’t a result of their own skill with barriers. The sorcerers with barrier skills have never had to use those.

2023-09-30 14:04:42 +0000 UTCThe way Gege explained it, it isn't that Geto's soul is still somewhere in his body, i.e. that he's "alive" and trapped in his body. He said it was more the remnant twitching of the body left behind; more like muscle memory triggered by Gojo saying his name.

Gojo reminds me of Goku think about it every time a new arc was about to start in dragon Ball Z Goku would either die disappear, go train and leave it to Vegeta and the other Z warriors. We all knew Goku was the strongest but he wasn't around a lot until the final moment and that's kind of like how gojo is

That includes Yuji of course whose execution was suspended only because Gojo made it so.

2023-09-29 16:50:00 +0000 UTCJust to let you know, Ijichi isn't completely powerless. He belongs to a special class of sorcerer that is called a barrier specialist. It's why they always leave him to set up the barriers. Anyone can learn to make and maintain a barrier but it's very technical considering all the things you can do with a barrier; so a lot of skill and studying is required. So most people can't use barriers with any proficiency. Ijichi is useful for crowd control and incident containment but the reason why they don't pair him up with a combat specialist as a body guard is beyond me. Also, it just dawned on me that barriers can't be made without those specialized nails, which is why I think they ransacked Jujutsu High's storage shed in the Kyoto Arc, in addition to the fingers and cursed wombs.

2023-09-29 15:37:41 +0000 UTCGotta remember with Geto is that he doesn't hate the jujutsu sorcerers, its why he went on his genocide arc (kinda like Eren when you think about it) because getting rid of normal humans would also get rid of curses and then none of his friends would have to die fighting them anymore, so when he was fighting himself there it was less that he was back to being good and it was more that that was his best friend the brain parasite was messing with.

2023-09-29 15:13:14 +0000 UTCThe most heartbreaking thing about Geto is while he was definitely evil, he still had a noble goal of wiping out all cursed spirits even if it required the deaths of all normal people, and now his body is being used to work with curses to bring about a world dominated by curses, this would quite literally be his worst nightmare.
