2023-09-27 22:05:38 +0000 UTCalso the whole team karasuno along with takeda and ukai take the mvp this ep. the 3rd years stuck around wanting to see it through all the way, 1st years are reflecting and striving to be better, takeda providing solid advice and leaving it up to the 3rd years to decide what to do, ukai sticking around still wanting to make the garbage dump happen for real this time. peak writing and the best way to end the weakest season of the show (crazy i know) onto season two lets goooo!

2023-09-27 17:26:45 +0000 UTCYou guys are probably my favorite Haikyuu reactors. The genuine love for the boys and the game is so apparent in each video. Just to give a quick rundown on not-so-apparent/easily forgotten facts of the Seijoh players: -Iwaizumi(3rd yr like Oikawa), while not a flashy player, is actually the ace of their team -Kunimi(1st yr like Kindaichi, aka Turnip Head), plays opposite (position name for the right-side hitter). Although I think he's mostly put here for narrative and dramatic reasons, the fact that he and Kindaichi are able to be starters as first years on a pretty big team indicate that they're pretty good players. -Watari (the libero lol had to look up his name xD) as mentioned a few episodes ago used to be a setter, and was the one to pull of that fairly stable jump set from the line to Oikawa.

2023-09-27 00:09:17 +0000 UTCWelp, I would say for Japanese (and the East Asia I believe), going into university is really really a thing ( I'm not Japanese but in my family college even means failure as it would be so much harder for you to find a decent job after graduation). I'm not saying this is good or bad but just would let you know that it is very important to keep your studies good in such situations, study/life balance is not really taken into consideration as we need to focus on getting high scores on that one and only exam to undergraduate education, such 'hobby' cannot block the way. I felt both frustrated and happy when watching this episode, not like me, at least they could still manage to keep playing volleyball and fight for their dreams.

Yes, the rest of the team members helped but I wouldn't say they deserve to be MVP over Oikawa. The reason being is that I believe Oikawa was the mastermind behind how his team members played. For a top team like Aoba Johsai I expect most team members to be able to execute Oikawa's game plan. Also, I don't think Carlie was disrespecting the other team members from Aoba Johsai 😂 . She had very valid points in my opinion!

One point to add on towards his MVP is the fact that while Kunimi did a great job, the episode made it a large point to show how Oikawa was able to bring out the greatness in Kunimi like Kageyama never could. Also, I would definitely say runner up is either Iwazumi or Coach Ukai for sure. Iwazumi was clutch in bringing back a lot of match points from Karasuno, but he also was able to keep Oikawa from breaking down in a critical moment when he was trying to rush forward to future opponents. Coach Ukai was huge because while his team did lose, he knew exactly what they needed and wanted to make sure that while this experience was hurtful for the team, they could grow from it.

At first I was a major Tanaka stan then came Kenma only for Oikawa to grow on me and as the multiple times I consume any media of this series my favourite keeps changing. I love how much realism, depth and detail every character is given that its hard to not love them all. PS. as I am much older now than when I started the series Noya is hands down my favourite. His attitude to life is so rewarding as you go along the series

Iwaizumi was close as well but Oikawa edges it a little bit (I'm not an Oikawa fanboy but he deserves this one 🤣). Even the serve he missed was out by a hair, which can very normally happen to even the best servers in professional volleyball.

Oikawa was awesome overall and his last read on Kageyama's attack was on point, but he did lose focus more than once during the game cos he was too focused on Shiratorizawa (the school Seijoh lost to) and lost sight of Karasuno a couple times, one of which cost them a match point. Kunimi was a good contender too but he only had his moments towards the end of the game. Anyway Iwaizumi would be my choice :D Also pretty sure you guys will have plenty reasons to give Coach Ukai his MVP slot in the upcoming seasons (I can already guess which one it might be hehe). Loved your reactions as always. Can't wait to start season 2 with you!

That's why setters are like the conductor in the orchestra, oikawa can make the team a lot better when he's in there because he knows what kind of toss is the best for each player. and that's where kageyama is still lacking and also the another setter from aoba johsai. so the conclusion is oikawa and his bf iwaizumi carried the team for sure

2023-09-26 19:20:58 +0000 UTCCarlie is right. Oikawa is the clear MVP. This entire match was built to showcase just how good he is and exactly why he's the top setter in the prefecture. Kunimi's big moment only could happen because Oikawa takes the time to understand each of his teammates specific quirks and how to set the ball to them the best and most importantly WHEN to set them the ball. His understanding of Kageyama as a person on a fundamental level is what won them their last point. I'm not a huge Oikawa fan, but I think he definitely deserves MVP for episode 24.

He also gave Oikawa the words he needed to hear with the "if you can't see the enemy in front of you...". Oikawa may not have been living in the moment for that final play if not for Iwa. Can't wait for Season 2!!
