While Hinata is not entirely useless when paired with Suga, he doesn't bring anything unique or powerful to the table. Any of the second year could do what he did and more. Hinata's only value at this moment is his special quick with Kageyama, and whether it's a good thing or not, Kageyama is the only one who can enable him to get to that height. But that's what Karasuno needs right now so there's no time to think about Hinata's own personal development.

Ever since the Nekoma matches, Hinata has been doing regular quicks as well as the super fast ones. This just goes to show how many people incorrectly assume that Hinata is useless without Kageyama.

2023-09-23 03:46:15 +0000 UTCI'm glad you guys noticed the strong bond with Oikawa and Iwaizumi (aka Iwa-chan) It was briefly mentioned but they've been playing together since they were kids so they're very in sync and trust each other a lot hence why Kageyama was able to discern that Oikawa, instead of tossing to the center which was the ideal play, would toss to Iwaizumi in a critical moment. BTW Iwaizumi is Aoba johsai 's ace, so him and Oikawa make quite a dynamic and powerful duo. Can't wait see more Haikyuu reactions!

If they hit 25 when the other team is at 24 then it keeps going until a 2 point lead is earned by one of the teams. I recall Carlie saying this episode that “they must have played to 30” I may have misheard but just in case I didn’t :p

2023-09-22 01:12:48 +0000 UTCFor me, MVP has to go to Oikawa for Episode 22. What’s being highlighted between Oikawa and Kageyama is that Kageyama is a genius, while Oikawa is more of a hard worker. Oikawa has always felt inferior against pure talent, like Ushiwaka from Shiratorizawa and Kageyama. While he had always have to do some extra hard work to practice, practice, and practice to be able to stand at where he is now. Remember Oikawa’s first appearance? He was absent from the practice match because he had an injury. Apparently that’s a quite common occurance for him because he practices hard. He keeps practicing and pushes himself to the point of injuring himself. Oikawa is only 2 years older than Kageyama, so at that time when he almost hit Kageyama, he was also a teenager. A teenager with inferiority complex. I think for Oikawa, no matter how good he has become, deep down the inferiority always came back to him, creeping in his mind. And I think we have had these moments too in life. So yeah, MVP for Episode 22 is Oikawa for me. Because now we know that under that smiley-funny-annoying front he builds in front of other people, he’s a complicated character and he has worked hard to stand at where he is now. Also shoutout to Iwa-chan! He’s always got Oikawa’s back especially at times when Oikawa goes spiraling.

Like Suga was by the side all the time, but they gave him a good portion of spotlight in his episode, to show that he is also a good setter and can lead his team to get points. It made me so happy to see him be so happy.

2023-09-21 18:44:27 +0000 UTCWelcome back! The thing I love the most about Haikyuu is that it's realistic and somehow close to real sport, in the sense that no one is perfect. For example, after Oikawa's back story, I thought he'll win the next point because he just got a back story and it seemed like his moment to shine, but Karasuno took the point. Most other anime would've given Oikawa that point.

I do think oikawa and iwa have a good relationship, I take it as similar to hinata and kageyama - though they're constantly harping on each other and say things that can read as rude, there's no actual ill-intent. Like brothers :) And like Ukai said "how cruel" with how hinata and kageyama only recently met - oikawa had iwa to snap him out of his "i, i, i" mindset before it could fully claim him, while kageyama is just getting there. who knows what a beast our boy would be if he'd had a teammate like hinata (and all of our karasuno boys) even sooner!!
