2023-09-17 04:35:18 +0000 UTCThis arc, the Syrup Village Arc, is for many (me included) their least favorite arc in the manga and anime. I’ve actually heard of people that stop watching/reading because of it. Matt Owens, this show’s show runner and a huge One Piece fan, said in an interview that this is his least favorite arc in the manga and anime. Maybe because of that in the live action everything is so different. Originally there were no marines for example, Kuro had a whole crew invading, and a couple of characters were cut, like Kuro’s right hand man the Michael Jackson themed hypnotist Jango.
