I'm talking about Isabella being the older sister in the flashback. It happened too in FMAB with the dwarf in the flask being Father and not Selim. I've got to admit I thought she was the younger one and was awfully confused by the hair color ๐คฃ

2023-08-28 10:34:30 +0000 UTCWow, I can't believe I ended up missing this movie before watching the latest VE movie. Didn't realize I accidentally skipped it until I watched this reaction tbh. While I won't spoil anything for the next movie, I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie over the newest one. Don't know if that was a hot take, but Amy/Isabella and Taylor's relationship was just too precious and wholesome. I loved how they directed this movie by splitting up Amy and Isabella's arcs. They didn't end up together in the end, but they are sisters for life and their letters to each other provided the comfort they needed to move forward. Also, I knew I recognized Taylor's voice... it was Aoi Yuuki, which you guys would know from OPM's Tatsumaki. I've heard her in many other shows and she's insane with the range. Not throwing a recommendation here, but I do hope that Youjo Senki will be in one of your polls someday. Aoi is wild as the MC in that show. Anyway, thanks for getting me to watch this movie lol. Finished it feeling good and you guys are funny as always ๐

2023-08-27 21:50:18 +0000 UTCI really like how Ange compare VE animation quality to Demon Slayer, I have this thought as well, Demon Slayer is the best at action animation, and Violet Evergarden is the best at drama animation, although Demon Slayer seems more exciting and flashy, all the scenery and character micro-movements in VE are just unbelievable, I put both of them in the same god tier.

2023-08-27 21:20:30 +0000 UTCImo the whole show is so unbelievable well "composed". Everything fits perfectly. The music, the art, the writing.. Everything is perfectly timed and that is what wrenches the tears, no matter if you are willing to allow it or not. I agree with you two, sometimes it is just a "thank you" or just the theme coming in and I am lost. What is also special imo is that the stories are very "simple" (in a good way). Nothing overly complicated or never seen before going on here. They just write core stories that everyone can relate to in their special way. Not by own experience mostly, but you could still imagine to be in that position and how it would feel. And there go the tears.... ๐ Get well soon Ange!๐Don't like the feeling that you are maybe sitting there with temperature to create content for us (this adresses the two of you โ๏ธ). I fear the announced world tour 2024 is a fail then... ?! ๐ฑ๐ญ But Carlie (speaking secretly here): There are ways to get someone into flying even if they don't want to... I recommend watching a few episodes of "The A-Team" for studies... ๐ Thanks for the reaction guys. It was great as always.๐

VE was but an afterthought of mine, a "oh this dude looks like a soldier" kinda impulsive want to watch it since I am into military stuffs. And I got so much, I got so damn much from it. Even watched it all with my Sister who is not at all into anime and made her shed a tear or two! This is gonna be worth the wait I am sure.

Lol Also god damnโฆ it doesnโt matter how often I rewatch this series, I am guaranteed to get at least a little teary at the absolutely jaw-dropping animation quality alone. The fact that something this beautiful exists is just downright ridiculous. Animation deserves so, SO much more love and respect than it gets (and tbf the recognition has been getting better, but nowhere near where it should be imo).

They are very good at emotional stories that look incredible. ๐ Another of their shows that has a very different look from "Violet Evergarden" and "A silent voice" is "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid" (https://myanimelist.net/anime/33206/Kobayashi-san_Chi_no_Maid_Dragon)which is very wholesome and entertaining. No tears were shed watching this one.
