We’re sorry for the slight delay on the Patreon exclusive series that we’re doing. We have seen a few comments asking, so we’ll do our best to give you some estimated video release dates!
-Violet Evergarden (Movie) will release on Patreon toward the end of August.
-86 will be the brand new Patreon exclusive series which will begin in September! (No official day/date yet, but likely in the first few weeks!)

2023-08-19 16:40:05 +0000 UTCI think trying to convince them to commit to a schedule is something we probably shouldn’t do. This is their channel at the end of the day, and we’re the viewer. They’ve never had a set schedule, and it’s done them well since the beginning of their channel.

With copy right following, extra editing needed etc they still manage to do it, sure it may not be on the exact days but it’s always each week which technically is a schedule unless there’s outside circumstances that they couldn’t help (e.g. health reasons, which should be priority for any human over their work). If there was weeks where they completely ignored a show I’d understand these comments but I think you guys are being a bit dramatic lmao

Its because it doesnt take the editors long at all to finish with the full lengths. Having them sent in bulk works really well for us. The edited versions are generally scattered.

2023-08-19 00:34:55 +0000 UTC86 is one of my favorite animes for sure, gotta be somewhere in the Top 3. S Tier direction, sound design, character writing, dialogue, even CGI. It’s so good in every way. It does make some bold choices that I’m sure a lot of people aren’t much of a fan of, but I personally really appreciated. Imo that level confidence is very much earned. Also super hyped for the VE movie, it’s gotta have the most beautiful animation I’ve ever seen in anything.

2023-08-18 22:10:54 +0000 UTCI don't know this with 100% certainty, but I'm guessing their editors work on reaction videos as a side job. Their availability for editing videos could be limited to just a few hours once or twice a week. Your guess is as good as mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if the editor works on multiple videos in a single sitting. If that's the case, Carlie & Ange would probably receive the edited files in bulk. I've been told that uploading reaction-length videos isn't a quick process, so I wouldn't blame them for wanting to get it done in bulk instead of repeating the process daily or every other day (especially if all reaction videos are ready to upload and will need to be released at some point during the week). Perhaps they'll change the way they do things, but I think they do it this way for a reason (or multiple reasons). There's no harm in asking, but without knowing everything behind the scenes, changing the way they operate might not be as simple as it seems.

2023-08-18 21:58:14 +0000 UTCjust another reminder on 86, you guys skip the intros/outros to every show which you could still skip the intro to 86 and be fine doing it separately later (but it does have changes within it as the episodes go by), but i would highly advise against skipping the outros. especially as a patreon exclusive doing the whole show, the outros are completely different every episode for one, with many having different songs that fit into the vibe of the certain episode theyre within. plus as many people have informed you about, there is an after credits scene in just about every single episode as well, and you will really appreciate the music and the vibe it keeps you in while watching the show and watching the outros during each episode. not to mention the ost is one of the best anime ost's you can find, with Sawano and Yamamoto (same composers as attack on titan). like i said just another reminder you guys can do what you would like, but itll just hit a lot harder if you watch the outros in every episode too! cant wait for the reactions!

What i don't understand is why they can't drop each episode individually though? Logically the editor will work on the episode in a numerical order so they can just drop the episode that they are done with and keep working on the rest and don't need to stick to an exact schedule. What exactly is the problem in doing so? Unless somehow they are working 1/3 1st ep, 1/3 2nd ep, 1/3 3rd ep order, in which i would be very surprised if they do. And if they are ahead of schedule then they can still do just that and drop all 3 in Monday back to 1 ep in the next Monday. Nobody will complain about that. But if they drop all 3 in Monday then next week they are late and drop next 3 in Friday then that is a huge gap and people will be mad.

If they promise to release 3 episodes of Haikyuu each week, and this week they (hypothetically) released all 3 on Monday, you could watch an episode every other day like you want: Monday - Haikyuu (x1) Tuesday - Wednesday - Haikyuu (x1) Thursday - Friday - Haikyuu (x1) Saturday - Sunday - In this hypothetical, if I want to binge all 3 episodes, I can do that on Monday when they released all 3 episodes. In your scenario (1 episode comes out every 2 days), I'd have to wait until Friday to do that. In other words, 3 episodes dropping on the same day would be good for you and for me. You wouldn't have a drought because you could pace yourself. I wouldn't have to wait almost a week to binge.

That, Eighty-Six, and Bocchi (and SAO) are my favourite modern anime (else: NGE), even considering the greatness of Demon Slayer, JJK, others. And both series have great music to cover, figuratively and literally, too, more than just Op/Eds, Hiroyuki Sawano et al. Thanks for the update, hope you’re doing well.

2023-08-18 21:13:02 +0000 UTCI don't understand your point at all? - People who want to binge can still binge if the episodes were uploaded every few days, they just have to watch it when all was released that week, - People who don't want to wait can watch the ep when they just released. - I really don't understand how this model is supposed to work best for everyone? And how is it supposed to mitigate any risk of disappointing people? People will be much less angry if they have 2 episodes already in the week and the 3rd episode can't come later that week than if they just wait more than a week to see 2 dropped and only hear then that the 3rd couldn't come out in time. That's for sure.

You're asking them to change the pace at which they release their reactions, not to increase the total number of reactions they release in a week, correct? If so, I'm thinking their current model probably works best for the most people. - People who want to binge the reactions can watch everything at once. - People who want to watch 1 reaction at a time can pace themselves. - Carlie, Ange, and their editors have the schedule flexibility to watch, prepare, and release reaction videos in a way that works best for everyone's life commitments. This mitigates the risk of disappointing people if they're unable to achieve multiple release days in a week.

While I’m sure people like seeing their favorite shows get 3 or 4 reactions at a time, but the trade off is a long wait between reactions. But by holding the reactions you could release one every couple days as suggested.

The editors can be done with 1 episode and upload it then keep working with the other episode and upload it in a few days time right? That's what i still don't understand.
