I went to rotten taomatoes and voiced my opinion. The pacing is horrible, they cut like 5 important character, they butchered the arlong arc by not giving any growth to any character even tho it's a deeply meaningfull arc where everyone come together as a crew and overcome crushing adversity. The series was bad you're delusionnal and encourage company to not making any effort and keep producing shitty shows sorry I refuse to accept a futur where there is no good content anymore and most of people just turned into brainless blob accepting shittier and shittier story everytime. You’re one of those fun suckers that want a 1:1 adaptation and throw a hissy fit when it’s not a carbon copy. Yes, there are a lot of things they cut, but it’s also 8 episodes and approved by Oda, and is meant to be its own thing. I agree the manga and anime are better, but to write a 1500 word essay under multiple posts about the details that weren’t done well is insanity. Things have to change to fit the live action well. Go to Reddit and voice your opinions there.

Feel smart now? Good for ya. Talking about character growth? Are you for real? I like One Piece but the only growth the characters have had in over 1000 episodes is the Sabaody arc and the Ace’s incident. Other than that every time it seems like they had growth they don’t. The realization that talked about, each straw-hats have the same realization in every single arc. For 8 episodes in live action I think they did cover about 50 anime episodes well adapted. If they did not include your favorite scenes that’s your problem. Just let other ls enjoy whatever they want to enjoy.

It is true that is had to go rewatch the entirety of the original arlong park after how they butchered it in the show. They cute momon and hachi, the villagers reactions to nami is just not as good as how they do it in the original, basicly no member of the crew get any kind of growth even tho this arc is supposed to be the moment where everyone come together as a real crew and gain new strenght and determination in order to fulfill their dreams. Also the fight between arlong and luffy is shit it's over in like 2 minute and there is no emotion to it since we skip luffy breaking nami's prison piece and piece and go directly to the gum gum axe. Some Villagers are not even depelop so that makes the fact their keep their original design useless (my man genzo who wore this spinwheel on his head all his life just in order to make nami smile becasue he couldn't bear to see her cry). Really a shitty show once again netflix hit it out of the ballpark when it comes to bad adaptation.

In the original Usopp is a kind of a coward and liar that play dead to get away, once he's safe he start rehearsing some lies about how he will tell the crew how he fough bravely but lost, while doing that he remember the sheer determination of zoro and sanji, the strong support of luffy and the tears of nami he then decides that he can't be the same coward anymore he get back up and fight the dude and even win. That's a story, in the show usopp just a guy that run then shoot fire at the dude's alcohol and that's it, no story, no gorwth, nothing. That's simply bad writing. I mean i can do the same things with every fkcing characters they have no or close to little growth when this arc is supposed to be the one where every individual character come together and become a true crew. Please by al mean tell me how a story with no emotions and no growth is a good story ??? Plus the fishmen look like power rangers villains, the pacing of the fights are awful and once again nothing really substantial happen in them. When luffy realize the suffering of nami in the show it's thanks to on the nose dialogues and luffy seeing a whole ass chain where in the manga it's much more subtle and heartbreaking thanks to a simple pen drench is nami's dry blood because you understand even has a shield she franticly fraw those maps until she bleed to protect her village. Henceforth the original work make a far better work at characterizing nami because the watcher do not just pity her he also see her strenght and virtue and she fought in her own way to protect the people she cared about. Luffy break arlong park in a few seconds in the show while in the original even tho Arlong he's strangling him he rather destroy's nami's prison instead of trying to free himself. We got this silent dialogue between him and nami as she sees her desk and map fall and break on the floor symbol of the bars and chains or her prisons being destroyed. In the Show well it all happens in a matter of a few seconds with once again no emotions. Plus netflix kept the original design of some characters but never explains it so why do that if you're gonna cut the story of the character anyway. I can do this all day ma dude because this show is BOTH a bad adaptation ann a TRASH SHOW in it's own right. Now i'll be very interested to hear what you have to say about this show, I didn't see a;lot of bad camera work but clearly the writers have failed and the FX departement handled their budget very poorly because we can get great settings but shitty looking vilains. The only way you could like this show is your a child with no knowledge whatsoever of what makes a good story and good show.

I think MHA is the best reaction show out of all of these simply because of a diverse cast and a lot of different and fun characters. A bonus would be Naruto but thats just my nostalgia but to me it has the best emotional parts of any of these shows. MHA *is* likely a show these two would like better but it's more generic and we've seen stuff like DS on the channel already. HxH is gonna be a new anime experience that builds on the shounen stuff they've watched already. and Hxh is frankly a better anime. I'm hoping for more love for it for maybe an eventually anime continuation or reboot for the new arcs. MHA has a lot of love already and is almost certainly gonna be completed and animated with no issue.

I love one piece but it is just too long to do a single ep reaction at a time. HxH is perhaps the closest to FMAB in terms of their strengths. MHA's peaks aren't quite as high as the rest but still very solid and enjoyable to watch. Recently I haven't found an anime that reaches the same depths as naruto, I think you shouldn't sleep on it.

It's not so much a genre thing; I just had a specific problem with HxH because it put *so much* emphasis on exposition and extraneous details (again, imo). I don't need every little thing in a story to be justified and explained down to microscopic granularity. I can suspend disbelief now and then. Especially because all that exposition took up time and space that could have been better spent on character development. There are so, so many characters whose powers take paragraphs to explain but whose motivation is an afterthought. I'm not going to just automatically care about them because they happen to be on screen. Also, I just do not care about power systems that much. No matter how intricate you make them, in practice, they're just going to be executed in the way that best serves the plot. All those extra details are window dressing. They're fine, but only if the underlying foundation is strong. As far as stuff I would consider 'good,' hard to give a definitive list but: The 2003 version of FMA, Attack on Titan, Fruits Basket, Evangelion, Monster, MHA (yes, really), Bocchi, Vinland were all stuff I really enjoyed - and as a personal preference, most horror, even if it's a little corny. I just recently watched Shiki and liked it a lot, even though the first half is a 'Salem's Lot ripoff lol.

HunterXHunter! Yeah!!!! If you are taking on a long series anyway, this for me is the best pick of them all (but that is me). I watched all of them - Naruto is great, I hated its many filler though. One piece, it just became very long it's tiring, but I love chopper! MHA is fun too, but I stopped being engaged mid way. HxH for me is an all time pick, I believe it has better progression and does not drag too long on each of their undertaking. All these could take awhile, so, whichever one you decided on, I just hope you have fun with it. ^^ (Btw, I know the one you will be watching is the reboot. There were actually episodes in the first one that I find very fun, I miss them)

HxH is good, not one of my favourites, but fine enough. I hope, for the next two years or so, you will try to get into all of them. One piece after timeskip is just not good until wano. Dressrosa and whole cake island are so badly paced I had to take a 1-2 month break in each arc. Seeing 2 minutes of progress in the story in a 20m episode is so bad. Good arcs ruined by absolutely horrid pacing. Not to mention the huge amount of needless fanservice. Pre timeskip I would agree that one piece>naruto, but after timeskip has been nothing but disappointment until wano. Manga might be different thanks to pacing not being an issue.

Youve already seen so many great Animes, I hate to say it but im not sure if you will enjoy these too much, especially given their tendency to drag out storylines and fights and on top of that you have numerous proper filler episodes. And youre coming straight from FMAB which has some of the best pacing you will find. Just for reference, a show like Naruto or One Piece would take 200 episodes to tell the same story that FMAB did in 64 episodes. Im not going to participate in this vote but I will say that you would probably like Hunter x Hunter the most. Besides the last arc, its reasonably paced and its a bit less of a generic shounen than the others. I hope one day youll react to Cowboy Bebop, I think that show would be perfect for you two but it seems its not an awfully popular Anime among your audience, even though its considered to one of the GOAT Animes (for very good reason).

well in term of character developement i feel like even tho the main character of mha are profoundly boring the mangaka alwyas find little sparks of genius when it comes to side characters. I mean in the anime you got twice who is like on of the most popular character or endeavour who gets a great character arc compared to shoto who's just whay too boring but also recently in the manga we got a backstory on choji aka tentacole (the guy with weid tentacule arm that can grow eyes mouth etc...) and his developement really is so great with a story that tackle heavily the setting of the quirk world and show the reality of this world compared to the idealized childish version we see through midoriya's lens most of the time. I guess people tend to generalize a little too much mha by calling it a mid shonen even tho it really has some gems in it and the anime still depict great epic and heroic moments with the climax of each arc. I mean the united state of smash was really a badass moment that can reach fan of the genre even if they don't agree with the show.

MHA a HxH would be good choices for long running series, Naruto and One Piece are stupidly long, but what is worse, they are products of a bygone era and didn't age all that well, the pacing of both of these shows is pretty terrible. You could react to like 5 episodes of One piece at a time to get one episode worth of reactions. Price for coming out weekly for years. Also id like to see a slot for older classics, that are unlikely to win due to recency bias. Anime became immensely popular in the last couple of years so a lot of people never bothered to catch up, but shows like Code Geass, Psycho Pass or Parasyte the maxim are definitely worth a watch.

HxH is most likely going to win but I believe you guys will enjoy My Hero Academia as an experience overall. A lot of other commenters have also said the same thing. HxH is quite an experience in itself, but it can be very easy to lose interest with, especially on a reactors channel. You guys will be spending a lot of time editing your videos and cutting up some boring filler episodes (not to say HxH is a bad anime, it just isn't as suitable for a reactors channel). I would recommend watching it together in your own time. Which is why MHA on the other hand is much much more popular on reaction channels compared to all your other poll options. You'll also bring in a lot of fans to your reaction channel. The character development allows for you guys to discuss a whole lot more as well. You guys could always start both and see which ones you like more and record it separately. Then choose the more favourable one, I just have a feeling it is very likely you guys will drop HxH as a reaction channel. Especially because HxH is never ever going to finish (other commenters have talked about this as well). You'll just be left with a big cliff hanger.

Love y'all and this community, but as many have/will say: Naruto and One Piece are STUPIDLY LONG. Like... RIDICULOUSLY. One Piece if you dropped 3 episodes PER DAY you still wouldn't catch up in a year (you would in a year and a month though lol) Add on movies, ova's etc... OOF Naruto is about half the length, so 3 episodes per week nets us 720 episodes, skip filler and you're closer to 500-600? Approximately 3.7 years for you to finish it. It's alongside One Piece also have more common copyright issues, both Blind Wave and Rice and Ginger faced issues with Naruto copyright. Hunter x Hunter has copyright around the music, but the show itself should be safe after episode 70 (roughly), still has minor issues, but hopefully those can be worked around. My Hero Academia has little to no copyright issues from what I've seen and is ongoing. I think it or H x H suit your tastes/channel and format much better. :)

Maybe I can put it a different way. I got the impression that HxH was filled with a lot of details the author needed to know, but that we as the audience didn't. Of course stories need some kind of internal logic. What they don't need is to spell it out in excruciating detail. If I know more about a character's power than I do that character, that is a problem to me. If the action onscreen is so unclear we need to freeze frame with 30 seconds of narration to explain it, that is a problem to me. It's not like I even hated it, I was just kind of bored through a lot of it, but to sum it up: Killua - good Meruem and Komugi - good Everything else - meh

If it can help some others too let me put it out there, it actually does exist. Its called a Kai version meaning multiple episodes put together in a row without recaps, openings, endings and most importantly everything who is not in the manga is cut out (fillers etc…).

Judging by the poll this is probably not a very popular opinion, but HxH is, unfortunately, pretty overrated. OP, Naruto, HxH are legendary classics, succeeding Dragon Ball. MHA is like a newcomer pretty close to inheriting this Shonen legacy. OP and Naruto, as old as they are, kinda out-dated style and slow-paced. HxH is great but I doubt we will be able to see this series wrap up during this lifetime. All of these shounen shows are great, but there is only 1 show I didn't fall off of and that's HxH. Great from start to finish. Has a lot of episodes but nowhere near as long as One Piece or Naruto. The starting arc is definitely the weakest, but it's world building so I don't think it's a bad arc, just a little childish(?) and has censored violence. As for One Piece, I really want to get back into it, but I stopped somewhere around ep 500 and I find it impossible to get back into given the little time that I have. Naruto was pretty good, but I started to get burnt out near the end. MHA started out great imo, but had a lot of low points in the later seasons. TL;DR: HxH is under 150 eps and a banger of a show! Regardless of what wins, they're all great reaction shows.

I see lots of people complaining about One Piece because of its recaps, flashbacks, and filler. It makes me wonder if they'd suddenly change their vote to OP if someone were to edit out the issues being referred to. Filler arcs can be skipped, recaps can be skipped, excessive flashbacks can be edited out, 3 minute staring contests can be reduced, etc. It makes me wonder if such a fan project exists. (For the record, I completely agree with most of the complaints. The anime's pacing did this series a disservice).

it's just that naruto and one piece are too long and the mangas are better since the animes are filled to the brim with trashy filler episodes. HxH is not too long has a lot of diverse arc and actually do well pretty well on every reaction channel it has been on.

Nah, unfortunately no window yet. They usually do that, but season 5 started March 2021, and season. 6 was October 2022, so who knows! We did get a 4th movie announcement though. You’re probably right, Haikyuu will likely last until May for them, but Mob 100 could be over by December. Maybe they’ll start MHA in January 😭

Yes I would suggest them or any other reaction channel not to watch any of these shows, and other shows that run 100+ episodes. People who discover a reaction channel now can go back in their catalogue of reactions and re-watch all those 12-24 episodes shows within a month or binge them even, but how many people do you think discover a channel and see "oh they are doing One Piece and are on episode 345, are going to go back and re-watch the reactions from episode 1, not many". I truly believe there is little value for a reaction channel to start these long winding shows, this includes favourites such as above and other; Gintama, Jojo's, Monogatari, etc. EDIT: I should say, I suggest not to do reactions, they should watch those shows if they feel inclined too, but reactions are a different thing. All of those shows are great, but we all can become bored and not feel the thing anymore and put it on pause for a while or permanently (I did with One Piece - just too much), but there is a ton of 12 episode shows that are just as great, and if you react to those and you don't like them, at least it's only 12 episodes before you can embark on something else.

I think it's pretty obvious that Hunter x Hunter will win, which (for me) is a shame. That's the only poll option I haven't watched, so I can't join for your reactions. I plan to watch it someday, but I'm in no rush (nor is the author due to his excruciating back pain). There are too many things on my watchlist right now, but maybe I can bump the HxH anime to the top if / when the manga hiatus ends for good. I absolutely love One Piece…but I would never recommend anyone start watching it now unless you had an insane amount of time to binge it. Starting an anime that has had new episodes EVERY WEEK for 20 years with almost no downtime is too much lol. HxH is goated and Naruto is legendary (and since it’s over there’s watch lists to skip superfluous filler).

Yeah I get what you’re saying, the way I see it, we haven’t even got an announcement on when season 7 will happen, so lets say they have at least 1 year before we get some sort of news. That gives them about 6 months to watch whatever they want, and then start MHA, so that they’ll roughly be caught up by the time it starts. There’s like 2 shows on here that’ll be done by then for them to replace it with MHA.

one piece and naruto are shows that are humongous that take commitment when you want to do a reaction format... another problem with op or naruto is that they have I higher filler ratio than other Shonen which is why I would suggest watching shows that have more than 400 episodes to watch privately and out of your own interest.. this way you can watch in your own pace and see if you like it or not and once you caught up to e.g. recent episodes or last season you could do reaction to them or I dunno you make a discussion video after every arc or sth... because I really think that it would be extremely hard to pump out reaction videos especially on a mammoth like OP. that being said, I would like to draw your attention to Gintama as well which is my absolute favorite anime. It is a Shonen as well but unlike other Anime shows it isn't plot driven that's hooks you from episode 1 but focuses on its big cast of characters and is know for it's comedy, word plays, crude jokes and variety of parodies. it's an episodic Anime and because of the comedy and no overarching plot (at least at the beginning of the show) makes gintama an acquired taste and it's not everyone's cup of tea. also it's not Anime beginner friendly because of all the references so knowing at least classics or the most main stream Animes (or at least core elements and synopsises) and need to know a bit Japanese knowledge. However I strongly believe that once you got enough Anime experience, you both would would enjoy the characters and the humor a lot. just imagining their reaction to all the dbz references makes me chuckle. it's definitely anime to have in the back of your mind. another great show I can HIGHLY recommend is Link Click. it's a Chinese Anime that is currently airing it's second season and has like 10-12 eps. it's about two guys who can jump into pictures and live and influence the events during the next 12 hours after the photo was taken. it's an interesting concept and the animation is not like from your typical Japanese animation.

Callum; long winding shows like the ones in the poll and especially stuff like One Piece is not good for react channels, it just isn't. Even if the reactor claims it does not take a spot away, it does, it's a commitment to at least a year of constant uploads of the same show, if not more. Time spent that could go towards, as noirxq said more shows and more exposure to new audiences. I would honestly prefer they watch low rated 12 episode shows than embark on those epic long running shows. I like all the shows listed above, but I've no interest in re-watching them, similarly I love Monogatari, but I would never suggest a react channel to do it, it's just too damn long and people who have no interest in said shows are stuck with it for year(s).

I love One Piece and I would love to see it featured on the channel some time, the only problem imo is the pacing. A solution would be to watch One Pace instead (One Pace is a version were fans edited out repetitive and filler scenes, but it's done really professionally. The music and everything is edited seemingless.). The only question is, if you can watch that on youtube, since it is not the original content :P

I honestly dropped OP once Whole Cake started because as amazing as it was, the pacing is abysmal, and it might be too overwhelming for them for a first long series on the channel. Whereas at least Naruto the pacing is better once you skip the filler, and HxH/ MHA’s pacing far exceeds both. OP doesn’t have much filler but that’s where it suffers, cause instead of having whole episodes/ arcs you can skip entirely, things are sometimes dragged out within the episode to the point where you can’t really skip it unfortunately

I genuinely don't think One Piece or Naruto should ever be polled for any reaction channel (key word being polled). They are so long (assuming we include the second series for Naruto, and they dont skip arcs), that them winning can drive people away for a long time while knowing that it's taking up a slot. I feel like any channel that is REALLY willing to do one of those behemoths just needs to do it as an extra instead of a replacement to avoid people thinking they have lost a potential reaction for the long duration. Especially considering the general rabidness of anime fans. Both are fantastic series, I just don't think they are that great for reactions in general apart from key moments. Maybe I'm just crazy though.

Honestly One Piece is the better option in all of these, yes the number of episodes might be a little scary, but once you're hooked, it doesn't even matter. Even if it doesn't win, you guys said that another one of these might get added along the way, and I would highly suggest picking One Piece as the one that comes next.
