fun facts about the dong family's names that get lost in translation the Dong brothers- Dong-il, Dong-i, and Dong-sam are basically named dong-1, dong-2, dong-3 (il, i, sam mean 1,2, and 3) Geu-ra-mi has a pretty unique name, given that three syllable names are uncommon in korea. in korea "donggeurami" is the word for circle... so with her surname her full name ends up being Dong Geu-ra-mi. her full name literally spells out circle lol also the subtitles translate the dog's name as "Sync," but in the show they actually call him "Bang-shin-ki," which is another little joke they threw in. there's a really famous kpop group from the early 2000s called "Dong Bang Shin Ki," so when you add the family's last name Dong to the dog's name, it spells out the name of the band lmaooo
