I think Yuki's conversation was fine. He hadn't made up his mind yet by that point and he admitted as much. His faith in his belief was wavering and Yuki pointed out that that's because he hasn't committed to either cause. It was what happened subsequently that pushed him over the edge specifically Haibara's death and him witnessing the two kids' mistreatment at that backwater village. Maybe you wanted Yuki to talk him out of it, but if you think about it seriously, this isn't something you can be talked out of, is it? It's not like a different person with different words will do much good for him. He needed to see the light and warmth in humans at that time and not only was there no one to give it to him, all he could see was that same light and warmth being snuffed out in Haibara and the kids.

good thought

Dario

you are mid L.C.

Dario

I do want to point out that in the same conversation with Yuki, she said "cursed spirits aren't born from sorcerer's, of course that exudes the case where the jujutsu sorcerer turns themselves into a curse after death" so my theory from that is that it's exactly what Geto did after he died in JJK0 to get to the Geto that we saw in season 1. Idk if that's true or not but it's my best guess, there's a few holes in there too but this was my best guess at the moment.

SemiSeriousNerd

what a good episode before the storm coming the next 3 weeks

Zana

The only one who won in that situation was Toji's handler as he was the only one left alive to spend the bounty. Toji bet his life on something completely meaningless.

CornCobBob

wow so there being another star plasma vessel just meant that riko died for nothing...

ChrisBrah-4

chill ❤️

le

You just said the sentence Nanami quit because Haibara died ???

le

Since you're such fans of the OP, if y'all are looking for content during the hiatus, The First Take released the single-take performance of the season 2 opening, Where Our Blue Is by Tatsuya Kitani complete with English translations of the lyrics. I think you'll enjoy the performance and seeing how the lyrics apply to this arc. It's pretty beautiful

Flippnote

Yeah, she was thinking that Getou was thinking more in hypotheticals, and wasn't really rationalizing it. When presented with Getou's perspective on non-sorcerers she made the observation that in order to continue forward with either decision he would have to steel himself for it because it was that nutty,

CornCobBob

YES! I was questioning the same. It could be that she luckily survived a lethal attack, because Okkotsu said that she was hurt more than the others. Or it could be that Geto let her live so that Okkotsu comes at him angry and unleashes Rika, which Geto wanted to absorb.

Aizensalami

he called maki a monkey but when they fought he didnt finish her off? Why didnt he? i was questioning that part after i saw this episode.

vojeeisgaming

what about maki?

vojeeisgaming

Btw, Megumi and Tsumiki aren't blood related. After Megumi's mum died (which is why Toji went back to being an assassin), I think he at some point started dating Tsumiki's mum (a child she already had) and they ran away together, which is how the two kids were left on their own. Both were trash parents. Obviously the blood relation doesn't matter because Megumi and Tsumiki still see each other as siblings/family, but it's important to know that that's also a reason why they couldn't go to the Zen'in family. The Zen'in family loves strong sorcerers, and Tsumiki as a non-sorcerer and as a woman who also isn't family, would have been treated worse than Maki and Mai.

poisonivybag

Maybe in between this jjk break y’all can react to some dragon ball game cutscenes I know xenoverse has pretty good ones because of the timelines being mixed but dbz kakarot had the best imo

SPOOKY CHEEEZ

I dont think Yuki's the same as Geto, I think their objective is the same, but she was always willing to go through those two paths she explained, either training everyone to control their cursed energy, or what she was trying to do with Toji, study those who establish a heavenly pact and achieve 0 cursed energy. Geto was the one t come up with the third option and she basically said she didnt have the guts, + she didnt know where Geto was mentally, so I dont think she was trying to convert him to what he is now. At the end of the day, Geto was the one to ultimately decide genocide was the answer. So I dont think Yuki is to blame hahah. Tho I completely understand Geto, I dont think genocide is the answer lol

Lau

100 % agree with you

Lau

love that you guys are thinking about Geto in jjk 0 with a new perspective cause this arc really does change things. any new ideas on what Gojo said to Geto before killing him in the movie?

Carrie

Yes. He used the phrase "bunzai de" which indicates belittling the thing you're talking about. So he clearly was looking down at cursed spirits.

Aizensalami

Well at least Geto is sticking to what Haibara said. Give all to something you can actually do..

Decaf

I'd like to touch upon Gojo's character a bit. he's quite a tragic character. despite being the strongest, he couldn't even protect his best friend. that's why he said to the principal: "it's not enough that I'm the strongest". I believe that's how he went from hating kids to feeling so protective of his students, and encouraging them to be strong, "strong enough to keep up with him", like he told Megumi. I thought that was a nice touch.

Martina

I mean it's very realistic. it happens in real life too often. you don't notice the signs until it's too late.

Martina

I was watching the episode when it was raining outside so I didn't even notice they used the clapping so much! thanks for pointing it out.

Martina

jjk 0 is mid

L.C.

NAnami Quit because haibara died and Rejoined because of bread girl, Haibara never affected him that way

MWS

Super unpopular opinion here but my MVP of the episode was kinda Haibar for being vibrant and bright he made Geto smile in his depression and Nanami continue to do something he had no care for. To then having such a horrific ending it furthered the solidification of Geto’s demise and changed Nanami’s outlook completely. I know we only got such little time with him, but he almost felt like the personification of Nanami and Geto losing their youth and innocence.

le

I mean both of them went through the same trauma and Gojo even went through basically death. He probably saw how he was expected to and could bounce back. Also, he’s a literal teenager who didn’t even get a check in mental health wise, same as Geto doing missions alone except with more pressure as he has higher expectations on him. I really don’t think it’s fair to blame Gojo on this when he was a kid going through arguably more. It’s on those running it and Gojo after learning constantly checks in on his students too and Nanami and has a hatred for the higher ups. Really failing to see how Gojo can even come into the argument since he was the reason Geto wasn’t immediately killed as well

le

Guys I would be SO down to watch you rewatch jjk 0 again after knowing everything - I think watching you guys now view it knowing everything would be soo interesting and also since jjk is delayed until the 31st! But only if you want to tbh

le

He said “that’s quite a thing for a cursed spirit to say” which was in response to Hanami saying he wouldn’t abandon Jogo

MWS

Shibuya's coming...

Mario Piña

FYI, Yuki didn't approach Getou to cheer him up or give him a pep talk. She's more of a researcher/experimental theorist. She was there to talk shop with both Gojo and Getou and get their opinion on her theories. She most likely wasn't considering what Getou was feeling or that her talks might prompt him to go full radical.

CornCobBob

Actually, we could see Geto's motivation in Season 1 & in the movie. For example, when Hanami went to save Jougo's head, Geto said something like "you damn cursed spirit" about Hanami, which shows that he hates curses, even though he was using them. But in the movie, when Gojo came to him at the end, Geto said "is my family fine"? and by family he meant the sorcerers who were working with him (the two girls and the rest of the crew), which shows that he cares about them. He even intentionally didn't kill Panda & Toge because they were good sorcerers. This episode complements these scenes very well.

Aizensalami

next 2 eps will be a recap for season 1 and movie 0, so if you guys need a refresher b4 the next arc you should check it out since season 1 was a while back.

AllB

Hard to hear someone out when you are in the middle of a packed street, standing that far apart while people are going in and out of that KFC nearby. 😂

Amrith

and when you listen to the ED its from Getos :(

RoZiiii

If you ever listen to the full version of the OP you should look for one with english subs so you can be even more depressed knowing its from gojos perspective 😂

Night Sterling

If you like the OP that much please react to it on The First Take {with the lyrics}. They dropped it like 2 hours ago. Here is the link https://youtu.be/i0K40f-6mLs

Mariam

I dont think therapists were a big thing back in those days.

Night Sterling

MVP is Megumi for being a cutie patootie

LuciusArtoriusCastus

When Geto is told that Tengen stabilized, it makes Rikos death 2x more pointless. Not only had she decided she didn’t wanna merge (so there was no reason to kill her), but now it also turns out that Tengen had another way to be stabilized. Poor Riko. Another great detail is that in Gojos flashback in 0 when him and Geto were talking in the crowd, everything was dark and everyone else was in the shadows, kind of signifying how dark, or sad, Gojo felt in that moment losing his bsf, where as in this episode, we see the reality of the moment from Getos perspective, where everyone is bright with funky background music because he’s finally found his purpose in life. Also wth Yuki 😭

LuciusArtoriusCastus

Honestly Geto after this arc is like in my top 3 characters in the show, so well written. Its also sad that Geto was left alone in his depressive mental state without anyone checking on him.

RoZiiii

Jujutsu High couldve really invested in a therapist

RoZiiii

Honestly the Flashback made me dislike Gojo/Jujutsu High. They saw that Geto had problems and struggled. Until he finally snapped they acted surprised how that could happen. They´re all guilty on Getos downfall. Gojo didnt even try to hear Geto out, the guy that saved him from doing the same thing.

Execuse

Hopefully! But it’ll be hard to part ways. This has to be our favourite OP.

Carlie & Ange

Yep, we're losing the op. It's a shame because I loved it too, but the next one, "SPECIALZ," will be performed by King GNU, who made the op and ending of JJK 0, so it will surely be great as well.
