FMAB Ep 40 REACTION!

Much needed episode!!

FMAB Ep 40 REACTION!

Comments

Hope you one day watch Berserk or Neon Genesis Evangelion. FMA borrowed heavily from the two.

… lmao what

Carlie & Ange

FMA lore. I don't recall them covering the details in the anime, since it wasn't super important to the overall story how it was achieved, and even the manga only included a scant few more details as it's mostly from Father/Hohenheim's recollections, and they don't really know how it was done in detail either beyond it being to steal knowledge from the gate itself to further expand Xerxes knowledge of alchemy, it used 23's blood as an anchor, and it was apparently the culmination of a massive undertaking to achieve it that wasn't feasible to repeat.

Is this mythological lore or FMAB lore?

That means that Ed and Al are half Xerxian. They are the last of the ancient people.

Basically, while experimenting with the Gate, Xerxes tried to steal knowledge from the gate so they didn't have to keep making sacrifices to get knowledge. Using Slave 23's blood as an anchor, they managed to pull in and trap part of the physical manifestation of the gate in a flask, which separated from the Gate, developed it's own mind and sentience while also having a massive amount of knowledge innately suffused into itself from the tiny chunk of the All it represents, and became the Dwarf of the Flask. (we don't know the exact details of how this was achieved, but it was apparently so unreliable and/or costly they never wanted to do it again, which is why Dwarf mocks their attempts to threaten him, since he knows they'll never actually risk harming him and have to try making it work again). Which they then used to further expand their understanding of alchemy from the knowledge it has available, essentially creating an Augur they could ask questions of without having to open the Gate and deal with Truth every time. That roughly catches you up to where the flash-back begins.

hilariously, the real life alchemist's name is even longer. Phillippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim. Also known as Paracelsus.

The episode that opens the flood gates of theories.

Also, I don't think Father and Mr. Ho actually share anything regarding intelligence besides capacity. If anything, Father inherited some of Ho's intelligence when he was made with his blood. But clearly, Father has ALWAYS had his own knowledge/mind/way of thinking about things. But I doubt they truly understand each other, only what they perceive and their physical bodies.

I came to say this as well. I think somewhere it's mentioned that they had locks of gold, so they were both blonde. It's also why Hohenheim is a good healer and could have healed Ed and Al's mom. He literally invented Alkahestry.

AttackRunRepeat

If you remember how they talked about the sages that brought alchemy to the west and the east... the sages were actually Hohenheim and Father. Even the way alchemy is used in each country is in contrast to the characters.
