2023-07-15 07:42:26 +0000 UTCI have been wating for Ep40 ever since you started this anime, so glad we are finally here! They haven't explained about the homunculus in the flask any further. But I am pretty sure he was an unexpected product from an alchemy experiment. I watch FMAB with subtitles in different language, and the homunculus referred himself as the source of knowledge that the Xerxes didn't possess, so my theory is they created him without fully understanding what they had created. And did you guys realise everyone in Xerxes had blonde hair and golden eyes just like Ed and Al's?

So it’s been established these are father’s sins and pride wouldn’t just exist separately. I think the shadow thing is throwing people off but that’s really more of a context clue about father rather than pride.

2023-07-14 21:36:43 +0000 UTCHohenheim's plan is one of the few instances in the series where it takes an agonizing amount of time before it's explained, so you'll have to be patient with that one Great reactions! like others have already mentioned, 40 is great and we have been waiting for this one. I think at this point most of the basic lore/background has now been explained, from now it'll be another stretch like 19 - 27, nonstop action and plot progression, can't wait!

That person used alchemy to create a Dwarf in the Flask (which is an actual concept in IRL ancient Alchemy). The Dwarf in the Flask has a lot of knowledge that even it's creators don't have. Hence, why he was created, possibly at the behest of the King, to find a way to immortality. This show hides things in plain sight, but it is easy to miss.
