2023-07-11 11:50:25 +0000 UTCI think it's not important enough for it to warrant space early on in the show. that's why they replaced it cause they wanted to blaze through the early parts of the manga. I think they've made the best out of that backstory as they could have. It was a funny and unique bit (funnier than the usual shouty humor) that still gave us some insight into who he was without stopping momentum in any significant way (since other characters were trying to persuade may to talk about eastern alchemy in the background anyways so it flowed into that part of the scene nicely).
