The english version of that film has the same band RADWIMPS re-recording all their voiced tracks in english and they sound awesome

Also you guys should react to the live version they did in their stadium tour they know how to put on a show.

2023-07-02 21:38:55 +0000 UTCyeah I'm quite impressed by her pronunciation. putting aside the comparison of the slight awkward rhymes compared between the Japanese and english version like Angie said, there's also a lot of wordplay in the Japanese lyrics that's kinda lost in translation for the English version especially for the last line of the song. the words "I love you" is a lot more rarer in Japanese culture and used in extremely special occasions. also, there's the wordplay between Ai's name and the Japanese phrase for "I love you". but still a really solid performance nonetheless as an official English version.
