Alchemy of Souls

I know im a little late to the party but i'd love you both to check out Signal. :) although i voted for attoney woo on your YT poll. lol

BUSINESS PROPOSAL

Dex

Wasn’t the tide turned the other way in the end? I did not follow closely on the scandal, but I remember twitter was crazy over some plot twist or something, and the internet seemed to forgive the male lead.

Pongphol Tangcherdchar

Does it have to be? It's in the same vein and they react to anime anyway. I feel like either "Naked Director" (this one is based on a true story of a famous Japanese porn-director from the 90's and has a lot to do with the Yakuza underworld.. not for the feint of heart) or the new show "Sanctuary" would be more great J-Drama picks.

The Great Santini

Not K-Drama but the new J-Drama on Netflix about Sumo wrestling has been AWESOME so far. I never thought I'd be interested in a show about Sumo but after watching the first 3 episodes it's really really engaging. If you're looking for a live-action show to react to that still has that Japanese flavor (and is produced very high-tier Hollywood style as opposed to a lot of other K/J-Dramas) then I'd recommend it. It's called: "Sanctuary"

The Great Santini

Vincenzo

Taliyah Harris

#2 isn't a kdrama.

Carbon

Goblin: Very beautifully done and the OSTs are all soooo good.. 🥰

Ness

1. Crash Landing On You (Rom-com) 2. Alice In Borderland (Thriller) 3. Vincenzo

DR

Mr. Sunshine

Ang Suga

After what happened with the male lead it’s hard to recommend Hometown Cha Cha Cha

Dooly

Marriage proposal

Black Knight

Yessssssssssssssssss

Black Knight

Or even Crashing landing, all in netflix

Sarahi Luna

Marriage proposal!!!! Or Little Women!!

Sarahi Luna

Forgot to mention these in my first comment, but Business Proposal and It's Okay to Not Be Okay are also really good!

nick foon

Itaewon class is also amazing!

val

^its a crime drama with comedy and a tiny bit of romance

val

Vincenzo!!!!

val

Voting for Mr. Queen or Alchemy of Souls

Carbon

Vagabond would be nice if you like action/political stuffs. Hometown Cha Cha Cha for a wholesome romcom, had me teared up with happiness every fucking episode. Itaewon Class is fun, adapted from a web comic, has some drama and serious tone, cringey at times, but nice. Vincenzo is extremely cringey and full of loose units, but it's light for your brain. Start-Up is nice as well, comedic, serious at times, reflects on various interesting topics in this changing Asian society.

Pongphol Tangcherdchar

Have you watch secretary kim? It is a really funny romcom

James Jaya

2. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

Caitline Ramcie Sunga

1. Alice in Borderland (Japanese Show on Netflix)

Caitline Ramcie Sunga

I recommend 'my mister', whom Paulo Coelho praised highly. It really warms my heart and makes me think about good adults.

yooufoto

They already reacted to squid game.

Derek Ferguson

Squid game /s

Greg Gibbs

Mr. Queen is my all time favorite (it's funny, quirky, has some action scenes, is an interesting premise and all around was an enjoyable watch), but Alchemy of Souls and Run On are also really good. I believe all of these are on Netflix too.

FafHana

The signal and Stranger (aka secret forest)are two series i throughly enjoyed

Decaf

I would suggest either Alchemy of souls or Crash Landing on you

Preetam Ozarde

Hotel del Luna

halfeldian

Guardian: The Lonely and Great God really great show

Frieda Chow

Alice in borderland as well! Japanese drama also good! Slightly like squid game

hauyau

I might be a bit late, but "Signal" is one of the best ones out there. Here is the wikipedia link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_(South_Korean_TV_series) . The pacing is great and you don't require much knowledge about korean culture to get into and follow along. Would be an amazing reaction series. I'm surprised to not see anyone recommend it. It might not have been popular outside korea. I recommend this one to anyone reading this comment.

Boys over Flower 9. Hormones (not K-drama but T-Drama) Thrillers 1. My name 2. Sweet Home 3. Squid game 4. Healer 5. Train to Busan (YOU CANT MISS THIS)

abc

Alice in borderland!! Absolutely amazing, similar to squid game!

Natalie Jones

Hey guys I think it depends on what kind of show you are after. For historical I’d suggest Haechi, for fantasy, alchemy of souls, for comedy Vincenzo and if you fancy more of a crime thriller my name is really good

Alexander Hawkins

I recommend Vincenzo, the show is an absolute blast with all the details. Judging from my point of view 🤔, I think Ange is going to enjoy this show a lot due to the fact that the main character is a goat.

Johnny Loi

Alice in Borderland is Japanese but I highly recommend. It’s a slight step up from squid game.

Derek Ferguson

omg I love Alchemy of Souls. the only reason I didn't suggest it is because s2 was a bit of a letdown.

Martina

Westworld first season is a masterpiece but it really goes downhill after that

Martina

Alice in Borderland

AverageVP

- Extraordinary Attorney Woo for sure! Its one of my favorite K-dramas. There's drama, romance, courtroom scenes, and the main character, Woo Young-Woo, is the cutest and funniest character ever, you would absolutely love her. Her actress, Park Eun-Bin, is the perfect choice for the role. Her and the show overall have been highly praised for their portrayal of someone with autism and their daily life, the ups and the downs. - My Name has a similar plot to The Glory in the sense of the revenge plot. The main characters actress, Han So-Hee, trained for months to be able to do her own stunts for the show. There's a ton of action and fight scenes but also lots of blood and murder. - Alice in Borderland is great too! Although it is a Japanese show, not Korean. It's a twist on Alice in Wonderland. The main character is Arisu, which is how Alice is pronounced in Japanese. Every character has characteristics of someone from Alice in Wonderland (Alice, Mad Hatter, Cheshire cat, etc). Lots of people have compared it to Squid Games but I think the only real similarity is the game aspect. - Duty After School is similar to All Of Us Are Dead in regards to the classroom/school environment but no zombies! Because instead of zombies, you have these crazy little alien things. There are no specific main characters, instead it focuses on a group of seniors from the same classroom as they progress through their military training. They're in military training because they're being trained on how to kill the alien thingies. The actors are amazing, their character development is wonderful, and I cried a lot watching it. Out of these, my top choice for you guys is Extraordinary Attorney Woo, it has it's cute and light-hearted moments, which is what you need after something heavy like The Glory lol

sandy

Twenty five twenty one 🙏

JP

Itaewon Class. I think the writing was done well. Very motivational and captivating.

Solo Chey

I think Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a good change of pace from the very serious vibe of The Glory, it's an educating but light hearted series with great acting!

Mesa

I recommend " it's okay not to be okay" for its fairytale vibes, mental health awareness and representation of autism. There is also mystery and the acting is amazing. For lighter shows with a lot of funny moments I suggest Vincenzo, it's about a korean- Italian who is involved in organized crime and I also recommend Hotel del Luna because it has both comedy and drama. I hope one of these makes it on the poll.

Thals S.

Reply 1988 or Alice in borderland for sure Right up your alley

Алта

I like Flower of Evil, W, and Extraordinary you

Natalie Thompson

Flower of evil and Hotel del luna are my favourites

Connor

I want to recommend a show to you guys although it’s not a K-drama so feel free to disregard my comment, but I think you guys would really enjoy Westworld. It is one of the best shows out there for theory speculation and the plot is always deliciously unpredictable. I also think reacting to it would do well on YouTube, it originally aired on HBO and garnered a pretty big following before it’s final season released.

BoDee Angus

Alice in border land

TomNook

THE GOOD BAD MOTHER!!!!!! It's the latest drama. The Glory's male lead is on the show. The content is a mixture of comedy, revenge, and healing. It's probably the latest drama and it's a drama that has gained a lot of popularity and attention, so it'll be perfect to post on YouTube now. (I used a translator because I'm Korean! Sorry!)

mk han

its ok not to be ok, attorney woo, flower of evil, mouse

CheshiereCatt

There’s a lot of good kdramas but i think the most important thing is to choose the right genre to the right mode so I’m writing the suggestions as genres ! *I didn’t explain the ones other people mentioned. If you want crime-action : 1- Taxi driver would be a good choice , it’s about (mostly) a real case with fictional end ! It’s like a group of people helping the victims in ways against the law but the drama take the stories from real cases . 2- move to heaven . 3- Juvenile Justice : A tough judge balances her aversion to minor offenders with firm beliefs on justice and punishment ( I guess they made it since the Korean law for minors is so fuc*ed up ) 4- D.P : A young private's assignment to capture army deserters reveals the painful reality endured by enlistees during their compulsory calls of duty. If you want fun dramas : 1- prison playbook : a baseball player ends up in prison under false charges. It’s like showing the prison life but in a comedic way 2- hospital playlist : the life of group of doctors/best friends and their great friendship, seems like common story but the drama is famous for the fun characters. If you want really interesting storylines 1 - historical drama “Under the Queen's Umbrella” it’s about a queen who try to mange/train her careless sons to be the next king and how they’ll have to face all the competitors . 2- mr.sunshine 3- historical drama “ Mr. Queen” It’s about a chef in this world suddenly finds himself in a queen body in the past ( like souls change) it has a lot of comedy 4- It's Okay to Not Be Okay : an antisocial ( almost a psycho ) children's book author and an employee in a psychiatric hospital. If you want an emotional drama 1- The Good Bad Mother : imo knowing the story may ruin it for you but yeah u can just google it 2- our blues : about a group of people and friendship who lives in jeju island , the drama shows us the story and the hardships of every one of them and their great relationship with each other 3- The Light in Your Eyes : a girl accidentally ends up turning into 78 year old woman .

Rawaby 1204

move to heaven was absolutely soooo good i literally cried EACH EPISODE

jermani

It’s okay to not be okay would be awesome to see you guys react to!

Nathaniel

Twenty Five Twenty One

King Abu

The Uncanny Counter ! The actress who played Kang Hyeon Nam in the Glory is one of the leads !!

indigo

My mister, Weak Hero are my favorite especially My mister is top tear

soneun29

The Producers

Juan Padilla

'Mr Sunshine' is my pick - it's the most epic, heartfelt and beautifully shot historical drama set in the 1800s. The scriptwriter is the one who wrote 'The Glory'. There's action, there's romance and such compelling characters that through watching this drama, you'll also learn a lot more about Korean culture, its people and feel every range of emotion you can think of. Very few reactors have ever reacted to this drama and sure, there are many currently trendy ones, but this one is a masterpiece which will forever be one of the most impactful Korean dramas of all time. Here are 2 trailers for it to peak your interest: https://youtu.be/rPJSo4fhtRU and https://youtu.be/UVBjEjQDbsg There's good reason why this is one of the highest rated kdramas in television history and has also swept many awards.

Flora

It’s okay not to be okay and Extraordinary Attorney Woo are great ones

Jaber

Sweet Home or Alice in Wonderland (Japanese) all are Netflix Shows

Black Knight

Tried to pick 3 very different shows :) 1. Move to Heaven (2021): a beautiful series about mortality, the processing of grief, the celebration of life, and the stories we as people leave behind when we pass. It follows a trauma cleaning company whose job it is to clean the rooms of the deceased, uncovering the stories that have been left behind as they do so (there’s a bit more to it than this, it’s a tough show to sum up succinctly). Personally, I view it as a must watch if only because of how beautifully the show touches on a variety of subjects such as autism, mental health, lgbtq+ and more. It’s a Netflix show and super short at only 10 episodes but make sure to bring tissues if you end up watching this one! 2. Alchemy of Souls (2022): a lighthearted historical-fantasy-romance about a powerful sorceress who ends up trapped in a weak, powerless body through use of a forbidden spell which allows souls to switch bodies. As she tries to regain her powers, she ends up becoming mentor to an equally powerless nobleman. I really liked the chemistry between the main leads. I also feel it’d be a nice change to watch a show with more humour considering how dark The Glory is. It has 30 episodes split between two seasons of 20 & 10 episodes respectively, watchable on Netflix. 3. The Devil Judge (2021): a dystopian legal-thriller set in a South Korea which broadcasts criminal trials through a courtroom live show. Kim Gaon, an associate judge on the live court show, ends up embroiled in mystery and intrigue after meeting head judge, celebrity and titular ‘devil judge’ Kang Yohan. My favourite kdrama. It’s exciting, full of intrigue (both political and otherwise) and has a bit of a revenge bent to it similar to The Glory. Another show where the chemistry between the two leads is phenomenal. 16 episodes and can be watched on Viki.

Sussuru

The way we both suggested Crash Landing on You at the exact same time. Haha

Sarcaamstic

I think you'd love Extraordinary Attorney Woo which is the story of a woman who becomes the first autistic attorney in South Korea. The show explores how autism is both a weakness and an incredible strength for our main character as she deals with her firm, her cases, her family issues and a new found interest for romance. I also would love to see your reaction to It's Okay to not be Okay which is truly a masterpiece ! It's the story of two (and really 3) people who find solace in each other after they have to face trauma and wounds of the past. The main character works in a psychiatric ward while he also looks after his older autistic brother. He meets a popular writer of children's books that his brother loves. However, she behaves in a peculiar way . (I don't want to say too much) Others have also mentioned Vincenzo. It's a dark-comedy. So, while it can be super funny and silly it can also become SUPER DUPER DARK. The duality is what makes this story so freaking gripping. I was hooked right away and on the edge of my seat most of time. Vincenzo is a korean-italian lawyer who worked for the Italian Mafia. Now that he's back in Korea, he has to deal with a huge conglomerate which always managed to escape the law up until now. I haven't seen anyone mention the absolute classic that is Crash Landing on you which is one of the highest rated k dramas ever. It is more focused on romance than the others but I think you would absolutely love it (I've seen how hardcore you can get when you ship two characters (Yor x Loid, Ishigami x Miko *cough* *cough*). The story revolves around a South Korean heiress of a big conglomerate who accidentally ends up in North Korea where she meets a captain of the North Korean Army. I know you'd LOVE the supporting cast !

Sarcaamstic

I've seen 90+ Korean dramas (I know... lol). Here are some suggestions for those starting out with the genre, in no particular order: 1. Crash Landing on You. One of the highest viewed and rated Korean dramas. Love story between a North Korean soldier and a South Korean heiress. It's a romance drama with an enticing plot, great character development, and a mix of lightheartedness, comedy, suspense, political undertones. Honestly it's the whole package. 2. SKY Castle. Leans on the serious > lighthearted. Like AOT > Spy Family lol. An intricate reflection of the harmful aspects of Korean culture in regards to academics, social standing, and wealth. As a Korean myself, this drama really led me to think a lot about what is right v. wrong and why certain things are the way they are. You guys are great a theory-crafting so something tells me you'd really enjoy this one. 3. Arthdal Chronicles. A fictional historical drama. I've seen many historical dramas and this one is the best by far. A ton of A-list celebrities + high budget drama. Reminds me a lot of Game of Thrones. Really detailed, lore-driven storyline that actually isn't too difficult to follow and doesn't get convoluted. Amazing sets and scenes, characters, and lore. So happy I subscribed to you guys! I love Korean dramas and anime so you guys are basically like the perfect channel

Jae

Because this is my first life is a unique and fun drama. You won't regret watching it. It has a lot of different perspectives on life and how to live a fulfilling life.

Iris Cruz

Stranger!!! Amazing, amazing show

❤️

My Name! Great action drama. I think you guys would love it

Thilde

Are talking about a different kdrama called Glory because I think they already reacted to this. There on ep 15.

Joey Sabishii

My suggestions would be: 1) It's OK not to be OK: the male lead works as a nurse in mental hospital and the female lead is a children book author with dark undertones to her books.. The story revolves around mental health and trauma.. The story felt despairing but warm at the same time.. It really has an interesting storytelling and I think people will really enjoy this.. 2) Vincenzo: the male lead is a lawyer with connection to the mafia and the female lead is also a lawyer in Korea.. This drama has comedy, action, and emotional aspects to it.. It is a very entertaining drama with interesting moral code and plots.. 3) Hotel Del Luna: the male lead is a hotel manager while the female lead is the owner of Hotel Del Luna.. This hotel is not a hotel for the living so it has a lot of mystical themes to it.. This story has a really nice romance and comedy.. The OSTs for this drama are all fantastic and superb.. Just the OSTs are already a win for me.. Hehe.. 4) The Red Sleeve: The male lead is a crown prince and the female lead is a palace maid.. This is a romance historical drama inspired by real history and monarchy in Korea.. I actually really love3 this drama because of all the emotions in this drama and it really feels like I'm watching the king that I got to know previously in history comes to life.. This drama is very successful in Korea and swept a lot of awards.. I think this is a very good way to learn some of the cultural aspect and history of Korea.. 5) What's wrong with secretary Kim: the male lead is a company executive and the female lead is the male lead's secretary.. It is a drama filled with romance, comedy and mystery.. This is a lighthearted and beautiful drama..

Ness

Stranger is one of the highest rated and one of the best written k drama with very high potential for discussions and speculations. Its also produced by Netflix. Its somewhat different from what you have seen so far but still really good. If you are going for viewership and similar show as Glory I would recommend “My name” which is also a super popular show by Netflix. If you are looking for a good show with immense popularity and uniqueness I would recommend “Alice in borderland” which is a Japanese show but also produced by Netflix and was on Netflix top 10 for quite some time. Its original book is one of the books inspired “Squid Game” and show itself is considered by many as better than Squid game itself with its uniqueness .

Matsumoto Erkin

Descendants of the sun is really good. I like this kdrama because the male lead is in the military and the romance since you guys enjoy that. Another one called Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. There's also romance in this and it's a fantasy. It was very popular when it came out. Another one called Itaewon Class about a person trying to start a restaurant with a lot of drama. Also popular when it came out, a lot of reactors reacted to this I think.

Joey Sabishii

And they watched this before their channel was born unfortunately 😕

MasterOfPuppets

Couldn't have said it better, so I didn't.😉 Agree in all points. Ngl when I watched at some of the key scences I thought : "Wow, Carlie and Ange would love this...😉

MasterOfPuppets

Itaewon Class is a good one

Z

This!👍

MasterOfPuppets

Just Between Lovers (It's also called Rain or Shine on Netflix) is my absolute favorites, it's a romance at heart but also deals with ptsd, guilt, trauma, relationships (not just romantic ones), and recovery- the premise of the show is based on a real life event that occured in South Korea in the 2000s. My other favorite kdrama is Children of Nobody but that's a pretty heavy show that probably wouldn't be the best for reactions as it deals with some real heavy and triggering themes.

Pamand

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is definitely one of the best kdramas I've watched its cute and wholesome not to mention unique.

CyberWolf300

Extraordinary Attorney Woo is among the best kdramas of last season with a phenomenal performance by Park Eun-Bin. It would be a travesty to ignore this one.

Dooly

They already did Kingdom

Romang

I've lowkey been fantasizing about you guys watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo ever since I started watching it!!!!! It's so good, when I first binged it I immediately thought about all the reactors I knew who would enjoy it, including y'all. It's super cute and funny, but also has a great amount of drama and the romance is super sweet. It's also super insightful and has great lessons. it'd be a good change from The Glory since it's not as heavy, but it still deals with heavy topics. It's got a great tonal balance with great comedy and romance aspects as well. And like I've said under the comments in ep 14, since it's also a netflix drama there are some familiar faces from the glory that show up briefly and it'd be fun to see you guys pick them out hehe

Romang

My Name and Vincenzo are both real good

Ray

It has crazy good plot twists and you could talk about theories all day with this!

❤️

Extraordinary Attorney Woo!😍 See also the comments under episode 14. 😉Actors and characters are just ADORABLE 🧡🧡. Nice little laughs, a touching story and emotions. You won't regret it. Promise 🤞

MasterOfPuppets

My Name and Weak Hero Class 1.

Anthony 임종철

Beyond Evil. Not many reactions to this but it’s the best mystery drama I’ve ever seen and I think it would be just up your alley!

❤️

Autumn in My Heart, Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Boys Over Flower, Heaven, Temptation of Wife, The UNTAMED

Lilly Le

Revenge Drama 1. Flower of Evil 2. My Name or if you want to watch something cute/romantic, I highly recommend my comfort kdrama: Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo [It's what I watch when I'm having a spectacularly crappy week. I *always* feel good after :) ] Something Japanese but badass: Alice in Borderland

Belinda

you could try Vincenzo its really good if you havent watched it yet

Irfaan Ahmed

2521 is an amazing and heartwarming show, I think you’d both love it!! Edit: it’s a story that follows a young girl that’s been affected by Korea’s financial crisis in the 90’s, hampering her dream of being a top fencer. In order to keep her dream alive, she tries to transfer to the same school as her fencing idol, whom she admired and looked up to greatly. The whole show is very real and human, and follows the stories of young adolescents who get hit with adult world problems; and having to balance keeping their youthful innocence while also learning to overcome problems that are entirely out of their control. Like I said above, if you’re looking for a touching coming of age story then this is the show for you :)

Enrico Gratzer

Six flying dragons. The best historical K drama

Gxr7

Reply 1988 and Extraordinary Attorney Woo! 😄

nick foon

Does it have to be a K-Drama or are J-Drama's also allowed?

blargerer

It's an old one but Signal is one I always remember, based on the Hwaseong serial murders

Cats4Eva

Top 3 in order Vincenzo: this would be a great kdrama for reactions, as it's funny, dramatic, great characters and cast, and amazing story with lots of ups and downs. Crash Landing on You: This is a great choice for its unique idea and unexpected events, also quite funny. My mister: This is actually my favorite, but I don't know if it will make for a good reaction content as it's all about the drama and the characters' development, so it feels a bit slow, but an incredible show nonetheless

Aziz

Reply 1988 !!! The goat KDrama

blitzman08

Sky Castle! Such a great show that displays many controversial aspects of Korean society. It's about the life of different upper-class families and the pressure their kids are put under because of Koreas harsh and competitive education.

nedda

2. Flower of Evil. This one is more of a thriller but it also has romance. It has many plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It also deals with serious topics like mental health, bullying, marriage, family etc.

Martina

It's ok to not be okay, it's an awesome drama that deals with mental health childhood trauma and healing. The characters are so different from what was normally seen in the romance genre in kdramas before and I would love to see your opinions on it and how it deals with the subjects shown in the show.

Tealhiid

Hotel del Luna

hauyau

1. Extraordinary Attorney Woo. it's wholesome, it's unique, it's educating, it has a nice slow burn romance but it doesn't focus only on the romance. I'm sure you'll like it, it's my favorite K-drama.

Martina

It's not a k-drama, but you should react to Lucifer, I'm sure you'll love it

Juaney Castanedo

if you guys haven't watched my name is a good one it has action and a good revenge story its very well paced too !

ITAEWON CLASS. It was the first K Drama that sucked me in and I ended up watching alone. The development of the main character and the side ones as well I enjoyed. Please check it out!
