@True C0re just because your comment got deleted I'm still going to call you out. We don't allow antagonizing community members, be it me or any other member. If you do not want to read something, you shut it and don't read it. If you don't want to watch something, you shut it and don't watch it. No one is forcing you to do anything you don't want except to be a decent respectful human being, but the fact that you'd see this as being forced on you, says a lot. People like long posts and short posts. Some like quick memes and some like lore trivia or lore etc. Let people enjoy or not enjoy what they want, and don't go antagonizing other members for posting their thoughts. Many people use the posts to vent out their thoughts or feel immersed or be part of a community, not to have their posts be treated like a essay or exam to be judged by those who can simply move on. I speak for myself here, purely my opinion, but I want our communities to feel safe in sharing their opinions. And if you want to move your reddit mentality here, it's not happening. We respect each other here. I will be keeping an eye on you.

2023-06-11 07:14:14 +0000 UTC@HOODIE ZDOT. DBZ/DBS has decent voice acting, compared to other animes. I wouldn't hate on all DUBS, but i do have a specific gripe with some dubs and it's that they'll change the voices too much from the original series or even sometimes unintentionally sabotage a character's "hidden character" or "primary motives/drives" when they are just dubbing mindlessly without knowing what instructions the sub voice actors were given in realtime to fit what the writer has in mind. Then you have all the censoring that comes with dub as well which can also distract and confuse.. I for example watched Yugioh the first series and pokemon and digimon in dubbed english, but i always had moments where something didnt make sense due to sensored guns or episodes taken out alotgether or plot points changed... then you have moments where the character has insane gravitas in the sub (like in attack on titan's specific titan scream in season 4 declaration of war for example, EVERYONE knows what im talking about here... ), the dub just unnnecessarily made the WORST voice acting decision possible and turned the most catatstrophic gut wrenching scream that should send shivers down ur spine into a 5 year old crying about not being able to buy their fruit loops... In digimon, for example, teh dub version in arabic had the "digivolution" be a "call a partner to tag in", like agumon would tag in greymon for example, instead of it digivolving, and it was because it was aired on a muslim arabic channel, and they didn't want "Godhood" being undermined by evolution concepts... but this change made it very hard to udnerstand why the digimon never just "worked together" across the evolution chain, and in season 2 when all digivolutions showed up, we were like "i dont get it, what's the cool part here? why didnt they do this all the time" And it took me a literally 10 years to figure out what i was missing because i was watching a dub where the localization choices affected the anime itself... So for me, i'll always go for subs bceause it's the language that was originally designed because you also have writing/language barriers or "double entendres" that are sometimes lost in translation and voice acting. And finally, one of my gripes with anything, not just anime, it's that dubs sometimes doesnt do lip synching right and it's distracting and frustrating. Hence, I STRONGLY believe that subs IN GENERAL > dubs, BUT there are some dubs that hold their own and do right by the anime, and i will not deny that from people... but it's not even a contest here for the anime fanatics, not the anime casuals.

2023-06-04 10:12:15 +0000 UTCI grew up on the English dub from Toonami, so that was my initial preference, because I like to let my ears do the heavy lifting so my eyes can pick up what the characters are doing in anime. However, when new episodes of DB Super aired, they were in Japanese, with English subtitles and so my first watch of Super was Japanese dub. The English dub is excellent due to the voice actors, however, when it comes to the openings, I find the Japanese dub to be superior, especially when it comes to integrating them into the episodes. Love the reactions, keep 'em coming! The last half of the tournament is NUTS!
