Just realized that the nightmare sequence was the exact manifestation of the scene from S1 Ep7 when Thorfinn took out that commander during that Seige in france.

2023-05-16 23:54:55 +0000 UTCSomething worth noting is that Einar never actually laid hands on Thorfinn in the manga, he stood over him and clenched his fists but before he was able to even kneel down he was stopped by Thorfinn's nightmare. Personally I am not sure why the anime made the subtle changes to Einar in the anime, he seems much more angry than his manga self, but I think it's interesting to consider why the changes were made

2023-05-06 21:15:40 +0000 UTCCan’t blame Einar for reacting the way he did, but the fact that Thorfinn is so clearly not that guy anymore (he’s all empty now) is what gave Einar the chance to see that hating him is a waste of time. Instead he chose to be angry that Thorfinn was willing to throw his own life away. I honestly think that if Thorfinn was still the same as he was in season 1, Einar might have actually killed him here.

2023-05-06 19:30:22 +0000 UTCI think to understand the cricket symbolism, you need to look at the other scenes with animals in this episode and think about what they're doing in common. like, the dung beetle was rolling dung which it does for it's babies, there was a hedgehog carrying it's child, and the crickets were chirping to find a partner or something.

2023-05-06 12:36:46 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! Ya I was like Ange obsessed not only with the crickets but the insects/animal they showed. Like the beetle and hedgehog looking animal as well. This show is a soooo good. GOATland Saga IMO. I think snake has that "IT" factor like askeladd had. He probably did not feel threatened by Fox cutting him up. But the look snake had and the intention to kill reminded him of Askeladd. Hence why he moved.

I have the exact same oppinion like you. THIS SHOW just have the best written characters and dialoges of all animes (mangas) i've watched (read) and there are endless many I've watched in my life.
