The women in this series are all so strong/independent, or grow to be super strong/independent, Ange is gonna have a hard time picking his favorite in the next waifu tier list - but Izumi's backstory has always been so sad. Her line about the miracle of life hits harder on a second watch with the knowledge of what she's been through One is all and all is one was my favorite episode in the original anime/manga - they condensed some parts in this version but you still get the main gist of everything. I do love the fact that the brothers had to be more attuned with nature and the real flow of life first before they could become great alchemists

2023-05-07 17:37:20 +0000 UTCA side story about Izumi: When she was young she went to see a pair of elderly twin brothers, one was an alchemy master and one was a martial art master, and she went to them asking for alchemy training, but because of the brothers' old age, they didn't hear well and misheard that she wanted martial art training so they trained her for martial art. She completed the training and became great at it, right after that she found out it was all a mistake. She ended up beating the shit out of the brothers. That's how she got so good at fighting, isn't that hilarious lol

2023-05-06 12:05:43 +0000 UTCNot really a big spoiler but yeah I would put him in the league with Vander, for multiple reasons; both good and bad. So spot on. Only difference is Vander has to talk to his kids, Sig's bond doesn't require that at all. His facial expressions convey a ton of meaning.

2023-05-06 01:23:24 +0000 UTCJust a fun fact, you guys actually saw Izumi and Sig on an earlier episode before in the Central Train station when Winry came to visit Ed for his automail repair. They were there passing by hehe.

2023-05-06 00:52:45 +0000 UTCVander reminded me of Izumi’s husband, Sig hahaha. And this is a decent theory that I refuse to answer 😉

2023-05-06 00:35:00 +0000 UTCCarlie, did you mention Vander because he really reminds you of Izumi, their teacher, or because you saw where Ange was going and wanted to remind him that you've got husbandos too? 🤣🤣

2023-05-05 18:58:07 +0000 UTCThat reaction was wholesome you guys, that interaction with that fox and the hare. Just plain adorable 😂. If only Ed and Al had seen The Lion king when they were kids they would put this together on day 2. Teacher (Izumi Curtis) is such a great character, one of my favs but that's the problem with most characters on this show, they are either insta-favs or you end up liking them more as the episodes progress. Not gonna lie, gluttony is one of my favs too. 😂 (Psst Ange, you are mostly on the right track. Good for you!)

2023-05-05 18:32:04 +0000 UTCI just watched FMAB for the first time last year. It really is the best anime. I'm enjoying watching it again with you two.
