They foreshadow the Daru thing long before the revelation, making it clear that he was supposed to be at the time travel forum, and that the only reason he isn't there is because Okarin called him back for the party, Suzuha then finds her dad isn't at the place he was supposed to be. It's great how it's in plain sight the whole time, so you can kick yourself for missing it when the reveal comes.

2024-06-01 16:24:52 +0000 UTCyeah idk why theyre so hung up on Daru just being a weird pervert and not just a teenager making lewd jokes all the time (like many of us do, i mean even Shirogane has said perverted stuff before in Kaguya-sama and they love him, as have Carlie and Ange both themselves in videos, that doesnt make them horrible people for doing so). hes not an actual pervert by any means and has never once done anything to suggest so either. just itches me a bit how they have kinda written him off as a disgusting side character and its affected the viewing experience and weight of occurrences around him and the whole Suzuha thing. other than that loving the reactions/discussions this show is incredible with how interlooped everything is and there is still more to come.

Before Suzu's divergence was reversed, Mayuri's max timestamp for her death was 20:25, 13th Aug 2010. Now the attack on her life happened on 19:37, 14th Aug 2010. Daru did not ask to have a date with Faris because he never repaired the time machine in the current timeline in the first place. Suzu left because Okarin undid her divergence before the storm hit the pod.

The first clue where you actually realize that Daru is her dad is when both Suzu and Daru were heading to the same time travelers convention but Suzu couldn't find Daru there (the Barrel Titor name drop happens now) because Okarin texted Daru that Ferris was going to be at the lab and Daru cancelled his visit and came running back to the lab instead of running into Suzu at the convention. Carlie, you are right. Why stop at 1%? We should shoot for over 9000.

2023-05-08 14:24:29 +0000 UTCI don't think there's any reason to be weirded out by the perverted jokes Daru was making BEFORE knowing that Suzuha was his daughter... he just thought she was a cute girl around his age. At least AFTER the reveal he genuinely started feeling responsible for her. I feel like yall are clutching some pearls a bit too tightly lol. On another note: Suzu didn't "Just happen to have amnesia" when she went back... she literally said the time-travel got screwed up because the time-machine was damaged from the storm...

I think the divergent line being 1 allow you to make a significant change in the world, not necessarily that the future will be safe if you're not trying to do that. In this case, that would be Mayuri being safe, as it is Okabe's current goal. If that helps with the future dystopia, we will see. Maybe those two are incompatible.

2023-05-01 03:47:19 +0000 UTCIf you wanna know the truth about Suzu's mom, the answer is in Steins;Gate 0. Which is a sequel which is a prequel which is a sequel. The seeming multiplicity of different possible ships is because the visual novel is built sort of like a dating sim with multiple different endings, which of course, the anime could not adapt them all. However, there IS a true ending. And that's all I can say. :3 ly guys

Man, I love this show. I'm going to need to switch over to Kaguya to liven up my weekend. Can't wait for Vinland S2 this week 😊

2023-04-30 19:08:37 +0000 UTCGreat two episodes. I agree that Daru’s lines ruined some moments especially when they were embracing and they could’ve used more restraint in the writing there. But overall his overtly perverted nature was done on purpose to show he could change or find someone despite being the way he is. In most animes his archtype character would purely be comic relief or they throw a bone at the end of the story but don’t do anything substantial in the middle. They gave some emotional resonance here in the middle of the story so it was slightly more unique.
