Now we all know what Askeladd is a slave to. The reaction on Thorfinn's face when he looked at Canute very much parallels when Canute looked at Thorfinn when they first met and Thorfinn had this condescending look and the show entirely flipped it around in the end. This season was a genuine masterpiece and it was great watching this show along with your insightful reactions.

2023-05-12 14:14:25 +0000 UTCI always read the bird in episode 24 as being his chance at freedom and it flying away representing him losing that chance at freedom, because the second he decided to step away from Lief's boat he was no longer going to get to be free (at least not for a while, we will see what the future holds for him), especially given the next arc.

He is largely credited with being the first European explorer to set foot on North America, and founded a village named Vinland in the upper east coast of North America, near what is now Newfoundland. So yeah I dont think hes lying in his stories lol

2023-04-24 00:11:29 +0000 UTCNow we've hit this episode, after the little discussion some episodes ago, I sure we can all agree Thorfinn and Askeladd did care for each other, deep down and in a twisted way but yup. A very Jinx-Silco like relationship. I too think that Thorfinn dropping the blade was definitive proof. He's spent his whole life going after Askeladd, always with a blade pointing at him as his only concern about him. Now he's dead, he points a blade at him once again and then drops it but doesn't look away from him. He just cares for him. Of course there are more things to read here, like his complete loss of purpose getting your life's goal stolen by someone else and the desperation that comes from that but I think that scene mainly symbolized that. What a great episode and season overall.
