Sometimes even over yourself. No matter how unfair it is. That is the literal definition of discrimination.

2023-05-05 22:58:01 +0000 UTCThe priest's definition of love felt more Buddhist than Christian to me? Felt a bit strange, but still a great episode.

2023-04-06 22:44:44 +0000 UTCWhat I got from the love and warrior discussion this episode was that true love according to Canute and the priest was loving everyone without being biased towards only one person or group of people. That humans are incapable of that kind of love and that only inanimate things or death are indiscriminate. On the warrior perspective, Thors saw the value of all life and decided not to take a life even when forced into battle and even trying to save the slave. This is why they all see him as a true warrior even though they don't know why yet because their whole way of living is war. both Thors and Canute seem to see things the same way even though it's called different things (Love and being a true warrior)

2023-04-05 10:55:13 +0000 UTCThe fact that you said 'obv my mom gets priority' is discrimination. The love as most of us know is indeed discrimination. That's basically why buddhist, and well, Jedi, teachings discourage the love that we know which they call attachment. With that said, I'm not chastising you or anyone who disagrees with the priest. In fact, I don't really care to achieve the level of love that he says is true. I just don't think he's wrong. And for Canute who wants to be King, maybe that's the best disposition to have. But for me as a normal person, I'd just stick to the 'love' that I know, even if it is discrimination.

2023-04-05 09:45:09 +0000 UTCHow can he be "wrong" about something that is inherently subjective? Also there’s not a lot to disagree on I believe as he wasn’t denying that Ragnar doesn’t care about Canute, he’s just saying that his idea of "love" is transcending the wall between "friends and enemies". The whole "we have no enemies" trope and why exactly the preist lit up hearing the two brothers talk about Thors character and words

2023-04-05 00:35:59 +0000 UTCYes absolutely, the unexpectedness of Canutes epic scene made it that much more impactful

2023-04-05 00:27:31 +0000 UTCi'm trying my best to save both of you but obv my mom gets priority. it's not discrimination because my intention isn't to let you drown it's simply to ensure my mom's safety. and love by definition isn't discrimination

2023-04-05 00:17:35 +0000 UTCIf me, a random stranger, is drowning along with your mom, and you can only save one of us, who would you save?

2023-04-04 20:35:04 +0000 UTCRemember after Askeladd killed Ragnar, he asked Bjorn why he serves him, and Bjorn said 'because I want to', and Askeladd said that he's the same, 'I choose my own lord too. My lord must be the type of man that makes me want to serve him'

2023-04-04 20:29:57 +0000 UTCBest part of this episode is they were hyping the fight between the Thors for quite some time and when we finally got it, Canute stole most of their screen time and I'm far from mad about it.

2023-04-04 17:41:50 +0000 UTCeven if the priest calls what we think is love "discrimination" he is not denying the beauty of such a feeling. He is merely pointing out the fact that for that kind of "love" we can commit terrible things such as murder. Thus can we really talk about love ? I don't have the perfect answer but in a sense i think the priest is right. When he says that love is death. It is because we can't in our life attain such perfet love. O

2023-04-04 12:24:35 +0000 UTCWhen Canute was talking about the snow, sky, what I got from it is; from my knowledge of the Bible, God created everything, everything had a purpose when he made it. God’s creation is love, obedient, it doesn’t change because he made it that way. All were made to worship and glorify him. Now we are made in God’s image, he made us, but during the beginning of time when Adam and Eve were created, Eve was tempted and ate from the forbidden tree. she also persuaded Adam and he also ate from it. Now let me tell you this; the devil in the form of a serpent if I remember correctly was the one who tempted Eve. That was the first sin. God banished the serpent, Adam, and Eve. The first disobedience .. Now I’ll just say it again, everything God created is obedient, had purpose, meaning, love because he made it and it hasn’t changed, but us humans we were the first to be disobedient so now we are basically cursed of sin. But we have a savior that God sent down to earth to die for our sins but rose from the grave his name’s Jesus Christ and he died so that we could be saved from God’s wrath. He did that because he loves us so much. The thing he hates is sin, disobedience, or anything wicked or evil. All genuine true born again Christians believe this. Read the book of genesis and the book of John in the Bible and you’ll know. Now that’s all I’m gonna say since I’ve already said a lot lol.

2023-04-04 10:48:02 +0000 UTCOhhh right, we interpreted it a little different. We saw him question his beliefs but didn’t want to believe that man couldnt be saved. So he wanted to finally take a proactive approach and do something about it.

2023-04-04 09:56:51 +0000 UTCCanute was questioning God and having doubts, And he basically turned away from his beliefs; when he said“ he would make his own paradise on earth he basically wanted to not have anything to do with God anymore. And they also portrayed it as if what he was doing was the absolute correct thing to do, which wasn’t in my opinion as a Christian. Maybe it was portrayed more to show Canute’s change and his determination. Do you remember the episode when the priest, Canute and Ragnar were praying after the massacre in the village, the priest also questioned God and started to have doubts and Canute got extremely upset. The bible says in the book of Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." There’s a deeper meaning to this scripture that’s being said, you’ll have to read the bible.. Anyways so yeah that’s why I didn’t agree.
Joey Sabishii
2023-04-04 09:44:18 +0000 UTCYeah Canute has Floch's VA. Thorfinn's just got more competion for his main character spot. From here on every episode is peak.

2023-04-04 09:24:35 +0000 UTCWe were more confused with the whole “the snow is love” stuff. We get all the rest of it. We may have even mentioned some of this in the discussion. There were just some interesting takes by some of those characters in that scene

2023-04-04 08:18:41 +0000 UTCI recommend you guys read the Bible. The book of Genesis and the book of John. You would understand it more with what the priest meant about discrimination. Because the priest and Canute are Christians. And if you know anything about Christianity, Everyone is a sinner and also love doesn’t discriminate. I’m also a Christian a follower of Jesus Christ. So we believe in the word of God. Which is the gospel/bible. Jesus thought us to love one another and also our enemies. In Matthew 5:43-48 in the Bible says “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. ”, I just wanted to shed some light to u guys hopefully u understood what the priest was saying and how Canute was feeling. I definitely don’t agree with what Canute said, I wish that was written differently.

2023-04-04 07:38:05 +0000 UTCThey’ve been facing a lot of copyright pushback so it’s been difficult to put them out. A previous post mentions that they’re hoping to have Ep 4 out sometime this week.
