2023-03-29 18:45:01 +0000 UTCSo here are some context explaining Roy Mustang's power, it was in the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime and in the manga, but they skipped the explanation in FMAB, I guess they feel it is too repeating. So rest assure, this is NOT a spoiler, it is just some extra context. So Roy's gloves are made of a special kind of fabric that can create sparks when you apply friction with the fabric itself, and Roy's alchemy is mainly transmuting the air components around him, like he controls the flammability of his surrounding, so when he snaps his fingers, the sparks turn into flame towards wherever he wants, that's why when his gloves get wet he can't do shit, and that's why you can see his subordinate brought him a new pair in this ep. It is important to know Roy doesn't actually create fire out of nowhere, as you will know later on it violates the law of equivalent exchange in alchemy, he is a master alchemist of flammable gas, and his gloves are his main weapon.
