2023-03-23 11:57:14 +0000 UTCA possible explanation for why Chika felt creepy about Ishigami's comment is that in Japanese language, the word '匂い'(nioi) which means good odor(but usually from food, flower, etc.), has the same pronunciation as the word '臭い', which refers to bad odor. Ishigami of course meant the harmless one but Chika took the opposite and actually thought that her hair is smelly(or has strong smell). To avoid offending people, the word '香り'(kaori) is probably a good choice for pleasant smell.

Also, in all of my past relationships, I never noticed it when my exs changed nail color, they usually had to tell me that they did. I mean women change nail color all the time so sometimes I'm like "did she change nail color or was it the same as before"? Also, if there's one flaw in this anime, is that it took 6 episodes before introducing best boi.

2023-03-20 18:47:05 +0000 UTCNot an expert in Japanese culture, but from what I've observed in anime, getting to first-name basis seems so much more of a big deal for Japanese people than for the rest of the world. That's why it's common for them to say the person's surname or title instead unless they're super close and I think it also depends on their personalies. Like Chika calls Kaguya by her first name, but Kaguya calls Chika by her surname.
