2023-03-12 06:57:24 +0000 UTCI agree that Saitama IS iconic. Very few characters ever 'feel' the way that Saitama does when he's on screen and ready for action. Goku is a great example, one of my big reasons I prefer DBZ oppose to DBS is the way they handled goku being absent in a lot of dbz so that when he would show up it always felt epic. When I think of iconic characters in animation for Western media I think of Superman, Batman and Spiderman (arguably Iron Man aswell since the rise of the MCU even if that is live action) and for Anime I think of Iconic as Goku and Saitama (Vegeta as well but not quite in the same way). Saitama hits thits that rare nerve of being SO powerful but also someone to aspire to be like on a very human level. I've intentionally always stayed away from the OPM mangas because I've always believed that more seasons will get made (T.V/Film is my favourite medium for story telling) and I'm hella excited for season 3.
