In defense of prince eric (lol), I don’t think he’s ever struggled as much as Saitama. Saitama was getting beat up and had to struggle while he was weaker. It’s implied that Suiyru was so talented he rarely struggled and that’s why he’s as arrogant as he is. He didn’t even train for two years or something before this tournament. And yeah not surprised about finding Saitama to be a more iconic. He’s certainly more unique since he’s a deliberate subversion of a shounen character. And I like Tanjiro as a character but he is more typically shounen. The more shounens you watch the more you’ll find similar layouts to the main protagonists. In the long run a character like Saitama may stick out more, the more animes you watch.
