I would consider this show a good introduction to the slice of life + comedy genres, where you can find lots of typical anime & Japanese tropes/culture all in one show (e.g., bento, school culture, commute, etc.). Comedy anime generally throw out jokes left and right at fast speeds, so if you guys are able to keep up with it, other anime will become a cinch. This really tests your speed reading proficiency😂 This wouldn't be a comment from me without some fun-fact about voice actors. Shirogane, the MC, is voiced by the same guy who voices Saitama in OPM.

There is a great series on youtube called "you are not immune to kaguya dub" and it showcases the narrator and the rest of the casts best moments in english.
