Thorfinn heard about Vinland from Leif. But there was that scene when the slave was dying and Thors told him about Vinland and Thorfinn was overhearing it. I think that was the reason he told that slave girl about Vinland.

2023-03-03 16:37:43 +0000 UTCOh and if you were curious, Vinland was originally written in 2005 and AoT was written in 2009! Even if AoT got that line from Vinland, I see that as a massive W, because it's such an interesting concept/ideology to explore.

That's where the anime was initially released, but the first season was also released on Crunchyroll recently, which I believe has the same subtitles as Prime Video. Not sure about which sites will have the anime in your region though.
