@chika but why did Wit Studio (or Production IG) """give""" it away? Do you know? Terrible decision as well. It's a pity because (again, in my opinion), the quality really dropped when Mappa agreed to take SNK. The worst part is that I think Mappa was reallyyyy good with Chainsaw Man and JJK, really, even the CGI was beautifully done, I had absolutely 0 complaint, so I don't understand what's going on with SNK and Vinland Saga, the drawings are so... meh. That's such a big mystery for me. Would it be because of the deadlines? Since they have deadlines, they have to hurry and unfortunately, the quality can't be as good as usual? If it is the deadlines, that means, since they also had one for March 3rd, it's going to be... Well, you know... :/

2023-02-23 15:09:29 +0000 UTCYea like others have said, no studios wanted to take AOT except Mappa, and with the decision from the upper department they were forced to meet deadlines. Honestly whoever agreed to call it the final season made a mistake lol. But given the situation they’re in, I’d say Mappa is really trying their best to keep the animation to look as good as they can (i.e good blend of CGI with hand drawn for the rumbling, etc)

I stand with Mappa on this one then, I think that it would've been better to release the whole thing all at once... I mean, if you are a manga reader, it doesn't really make a difference, but for us, anime only people, it just got to the point where I'm not even excited about SNK anymore because of all this... I mean, yay, let's watch the last-but-one part of the last part of the last part of SNK... So fun! -_- Terrible, absolutely terrible production. They are probably doing that because of some SNK video game or some blu-ray release. I'm just... speechless. I should've read the manga back in 2016 when I discovered the show instead of spending 7 years of my life waiting, and waiting, and waiting, while avoiding spoilers.

2023-02-22 14:45:27 +0000 UTCIt was definitely not Mappa's decision cause they put out a statement saying they were planning on releasing the entire thing all at once. But they were given a strict deadline of March 3rd and they negotiated to release one part at that date and the rest later in 2023. It was most likely Kodansha's (the production company) decision cause they were responsible for the initial deadline for season 4 part 1 that it had to be released before the manga ended to boost manga sales :/ But why March 3rd was such a strict deadline I have no idea

I'm just disappointed considering the fact that we'll have to wait for a finale that will probably disappoint us in terms of visuals (yes, I'm one of these people who think that Mappa is amazing when it comes to JJK and Chainsaw Man, but absolutely terrible when it comes to SNK and Vinland Saga, sorry...).
