Patreon Overhaul announcement!

Just making a quick post to let y’all know that we have some big changes coming to our Patreon in 2023 that we’re super excited about. There’ll be a lot exciting things coming up for us in the near future and one of the first will be an overhaul to our Patreon. This will include new tiers/offerings!
We’re looking to implement these changes in February/March. One of the extremely exciting changes coming to Patreon will be the introduction of a new tier which will feature Patreon exclusive reactions!
Right now the only exclusive reactions are movies in our Golden Jellie tier. We are exploring the idea of reacting to some smaller series that a lot of you have been recommending that may not have the biggest relevance on Youtube right now! Nor, do they have the room to fit in our Youtube schedule.
Some of these shows include:
-Vinland Saga
-86
-Steins Gate
And many more!
They also do NOT have to be anime exclusive. These are just some ideas that we are exploring. If you have some recommendations, feel free to leave them down below.
Again, an official announcement will drop in February/March, where we will likely hold a poll for the first Patreon exclusive series reaction!

I personally think watching what we've been given was extremely fulfilling. Whether they finish animating it or not. I think what we already have is well worth it 👌

I think it would work well on Youtube. And shows like Fullmetal Alchemist like I've seen mention in the comments are definitely popular.

Watch Your Lie in April if you want to cry, and Parasyte has awesome action and some deep questions about morality and humanity. I haven't watched Mob Psycho yet but I think I'll have to with everyone here recommending it!

The other 3 belonging to this list, that I haven't seen yet, makes me want to check it out, personally. I would also throw Mob Pyscho into the ring. Its only 3 seasons and its perfect for its runtime.

2022-12-31 07:06:59 +0000 UTCholy moly this is lit. i do think at some point when you've watched some more of the popular series that everyone has been clamoring for (VINLAND SAGA WOOO), it's worth taking a bite into some longer anime again, maybe an older one. not sure if that would be better for you guys on patreon or youtube, although of course i hope it would be worth it to put on youtube too. my vote in this maybe-distant future would be hunter x hunter since it's way shorter than any of the big three but could still give you that classic anime feel. and i like the story the best by far of the similar longer-show options, just gotta power through that intro arc ;)

But we’re working on a comprehensive set of tiers that will please everyone at any price point!

It has roots in role-playing game, but you don't need to know anything at all about it to understand or enjoy it. You can think of it like Arcane and League of Legends in what foreknowledge you need (meaning none at all). I think it is precisely your style and S2 starts in the end of January.

2022-12-31 02:33:44 +0000 UTCDepends on what you mean by small: Castlevania is fairly short, but longer than Steins;Gate, but maybe you don't mind if you're doing Vinland Saga which will end up longer. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is fantastic, but it's even longer. Mob Psycho is a good length. (has a lot of relevance on Youtube right now though) Code Geass is great, but also fairly long (shorter than FMA:B though). Gurren Lagann is incredible and around Steins'Gate in length. It has some of that old school "fanservice" though. One Punch Man is fairly short too, but the studio changes in the second season with a noticable dip in animation quality. Still has a lot of humor and heart, but the action suffered. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K is fairly short (it lists a ton of episodes, but that's deceptive as they're very short and grouped together in 20 minute chunks) and hilarious. The Haunting of Hill House is great if you're into horror with heart and also fairly short. The Boys is great and fairly short.

I recall someone (might have been you) saying that Carlie & Ange aren't interested in Death Note, but when I inquired as to why, I don't think anyone replied. Perhaps there was an explanation before I joined their Patreon? I enjoyed Death Note when I was younger, but I'm pretty ambivalent to the series now. Just curious as to why it's an immediate "No" whenever the request gets made.

I mean you're following the redemption story of a bullied antisocial shut-in who gets a second chance in life. MT has to show the lowest lows of the main character so that every progress in his character development is even more impactful.

Outright incredible 3 I and many others would love to see you two's reactions to as theyre 100% worth and fit with the sort of taste I feel you guys love as well. I'm all for the 86 train first as usual (it and Steins;Gate are both in my top 3 behind AoT) and Vinland is in my top 8 with season 2 about to start and would probably win the poll with the popularity but still hoping for 86! All are amazing can't wait guys!

As is, the most expensive tier is only a reaction to one movie a month on top of all the regular bonuses from previous tiers, as far as I know. That's just a suggestion though, not a demand of course. (If that was already the plan, please disregard this lmao)

Quick suggestion for something "different" a Chinese Donghua (aka Chinese animated show) called "Link Click". Great story which some interesting twists. Link Click's first season is just 12 eps and season 2 has been announced. It is a hidden gem worth your time.

But like another comment or suggested, I’d also love to see more Korean shows in that tier maybe, especially since they probably won’t beat out the anime suggestions and I know some can be tricky w/ copyright— so I think it’d be easier to just keep those as a Patreon exclusive. Some shows I’d recommend for this tier (or YT) would be: -Code Geass -Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood -Assassination Classroom -Mob Psycho 100 -Dr. Stone -My Hero Academia -The Fate Series -Hotel Del Luna -Alice in Borderland (haven’t watched it yet, but it’s been all the hype with the new season coming out)

The aim is 7-9 videos for youtube (which Patreon will always see first) and then the Patreon exclusive series will be 2-3 episodes a week 🙂 As for the tiers, we’re not entirely sure yet. But there’ll be plenty of tiers to choose from!

I guess they aren't doing the numbers on YouTube, but every reaction discord/patreon I'm in is constantly clamoring for them. Guess it's a good reminder that these more insulated communities on discord/patreon aren't necessarily reflective of the true majority of viewers. My only concern with the additional tier is the content schedule. It would ostensibly slow down the content for the current tiers when you add an entire extra show (or more). I do remember you putting out an ad for an editor though, which would speed up your process immensely. Would this tier be above Golden Jelly (and therefore more expensive)? Or would Golden Jelly still remain the top end, with this exclusive tier falling between?
