After watching this twice, I just have to say. Daemon is right. That council is a bunch of vultures, and the King is weak for not seeing it. Daemon is the most interesting character on the series by far.

But I have been fooled so many times by GRRM. I'm not sure about anything. π Btw this is a malus for the show as well. In GoT no one was prepared for what was to come regarding characters (except the readers of course). Now everyone is expecting something crazy about every character. Raises the pressure for the production a lot.

2022-08-27 07:13:31 +0000 UTCStill a good idea Bryonna.π I mentioned the same. It was a really good first episode imo. For me HotD will be a completely new experience compared to GoT. I had read all the "GoT books" (that where out at that time) years ago when the show started. So, I was prepared how George treats his main characters and I also new the story of course. That took away some of the fun (instead I had fun watching the rest of my family and friends watching the Red Wedding for exampleπ) but it was still a great show for me of course. For HotD I can experience now to get introduced to new characters almost without any knowledge. Love that. The one thing I didn't like in episode 1 was the scene with the knights hacking eachother into pieces at the tournament. This seemed to forced for me. "See? We are as cruel as GoT. That's what you can expect! βοΈ". π€·ββοΈ The birth scene being one of the most intense scenes I watched for a long time. π Already changed my opinion on one character in the first episode : Really liked Otto at first (love Rhys Ifans), but stepped on the brake when he sent his daughter to comfort the king... ππ This also changed my mind regarding Daemon a little... A lot of great characters so far lets see what comes next. π I suppose there will be many discussions about Daemon. Imo he is very cruel and narcissistic, but I doubt he is out for the throne though. Really think he is loyal to his brother and niece at least. There is a lot of Ottos play in it.. Nethertheless, no one can tell me he slaughtered "only criminals" with the goldcloaks. It was clear to see that they snatched everyone they could get a hand on. Reaction highlight? Ange calling Nymeria "Aryas DOG"! ππ€£ I am glad YT comments didn't roast him for this.
