Attack on Titan 4x23 REACTION!

Comments

@Ivan You always seem to nitpick and spin the narrative. Eldia started all of this first as was shown in ymirs memories. Eren wasnt made a monster by marley, eren never had his own free will either. he was made a monster by Ymir who forced eren to do everything he did. How else would eren get to see the future prior to having the attack titans abilities? whoops just shattered your reality again

Cloudburst

Except not at all. WW2 Germany started "liquidizing" any person they deemed unfit to live. Their mindset was one that was set on the extermination of anyone that does not benefit the continuation of the human race. They believed in eugenics. It wasn't anything that the specific race or people had done to them. Marley at least has an understandable reason. The Eldian race actually did horrible things for thousands of years. Remember, Marley is actually the only place in the rest of the world that lets their Eldians live somewhat everyday lives. In other places, they are severely mistreated or even killed.

Kailey Coffel

Marley is pretty much a WW2 Germany, but if the Jews decided to nuke an entire planet and used what Germany did to them as a justification, it still wouldn't make them the good guys.

Sydonis

I used to be yeagerist but with time I'm not at all. I still believe we can't blame people to do whatever it takes to save their own people BUT I also believe we should all keep our humanity and go in an internal battle to chose to not be a monster. Is it really great to be alive if the price is to sell our souls ? is "to fight monsters you have to become one" a good quote/ moral ? I don't think so. It's true but not the ONLY way to fight monsters

Luna lanes

Also manga reader here. This hurts my heart man.

Ivan Haji

I expect Marley to realise they were wrong in starting the war, trying to wipe out a entire race, innocent men, women, & children for crimes they did not commit. Forcing Eren to become a monster, to defend his home. Simple. And to realise that when you play stupid games, you win stupid rewards.

Ivan Haji

Reminds me of that ferry boat scene in "The Dark Knight".

Stefan

"What do they expect Eren to do?" If you believe that mindset then what did you expect Marley to do? They both justify their atrocities with "if we just wait they'll come and kill us all". Both of them have strong reasons to believe it too. If Eren is justified so is Marley. But they're both not.

Rewatch floch’s speech about why Erwin should be saved in episode 6 of season 3 part 2. That’s why Eren chose Floch.

THE RETURN OF THE FEMALES TITANS BLOOD

Matrx Zeno

true

Mr Joker

Our poor boy Falco stays getting manipulated :( loll

Q

By "attacking" I mean calling him out for his actions.

Ivan Haji

We're not attacking Eren, we're just not defending him. His actions are perfectly in line with his personality, which we love cause it makes for a great story

Yasiru Jayasinghe

Just realised I'm the biggest Yeagerist in this comments section

Ivan Haji

So then admit you don't, simple. And I never said it was the best option. I said, Erens main priority is his friends. Unless you have a way out for him that you know will work, don't blame or attack him.

Ivan Haji

A guaranteed solution, isn't always the best solution.

Gabriel Barott

Japee87@ I agree with you 110%. I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing children died so I could live. But equally, If I was an Eldian living in Paradis, had my father, siblings, and family living there, I would support Eren. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. My point is, Eren literally has no other way. And even in the show, everyone is quick to call him out, yet cant give him a alternative solution that is actually guaranteed to work.

Ivan Haji

Nothing I said is an assumption. It's pure logic. If Titans go into a nation just for a walk, and aren't actively attacking, they will get shot down. Plain and simple. The Titans didn't attack Paradis, because why would Eren want to kill his own people? Plain & simple.

Ivan Haji

Does it not occur to anyone that doing something horrible for the sake of your friends is not actually a noble thing? Does Eren ever think about how his friends would feel about him making such a rash decision? Say he succeeds and everyone is wiped out. What kind of lives would his friends really live with the knowledge that their best friend committed mass genocide. I would not want that for myself if offered. No one should imo

Jaypee87

I think Sunset is one of the most underrated episodes in the whole show, I see a lot of people don't think much of it. But it has so many character moments that we didn't get for a long time, and the directing and music in this episode was top tier, like the sequence starting with Mr. Leonhart going against the guards, transitioning to Shadis' moment with the trainees, to Armin's conversation with Mikasa, all with the music building up and peaking when Armin starts to snap at Mikasa was all done beautifully. Lowkey one of my favorite sequences in the whole show

Yasiru Jayasinghe

I think Armin brings a lot to the table. He's clutch in pivotal moments. He's not a strategist like Erwin, sure, but he can adapt to situations on the fly. He is also the heart of the Scouts imo, and his guidance and moral stance on things could never be questioned. You can always count on him to do the right thing the right way, and he, like Erwin before him, is willing to give his life if it comes to it. I think Armin saying what he did was him feeling so helpless at the moment, which anyone would feel in times like those. Don't think it means the writer was a actually trying to choose a side. If we've learned anything it's that Isayama doesn't want us to choose sides, but to come together.

Jaypee87

Okay now you're just making assumptions based on things that don't happen in the show. Let's just agree to disagree

Yasiru Jayasinghe

And once again, the Titans physically cannot walk through those lands without completely destroying it. The reason they didn't flatten the Island was because they weren't attacking it. Do you remember how the Colossal attacks? It does with steam. Why would Eren make them release all that steam in Paradis? And he can't make them stop releasing it in enemy territory because they would literally get shot down.

Ivan Haji

Again, attacking the military bases was their counter to the rapidly advancing technology, which we know is 100% possible if 10s of millions of Colossals were able to squeeze through Paradise without absolutely burning the island, even more so possible if only Shiganshina's titans were released.

Yasiru Jayasinghe

One of my favorite eps in the whole show

Adam salhi (starwarsguy)

I’m just hyped for traitor

Adam salhi (starwarsguy)

Of course it was his choice, he chose his friends over his humanity. Once again with the 50 year plan that does not guarantee Paradis future, unlike the rumbling. And the 50 year plan that doesn't take into consideration the rapidly advancing technology, where in a few years, the rumbling won't pose a threat thanks to aircraft, and other things.

Ivan Haji

As a non Mikasa simp, this is actually a good start for Mikasa’s character growth. She never thinks for herself, only follows Eren or sometimes Armin around. Her only motivation was Eren for how many years. Now that the trio are separated, it’s her chance to finally grow.

laras

Armin already said that in Season 3 mate lol

laras

I love the reveal that Floch has been Erens henchman this entire time. I know what eren and them are doing is wrong, but thanks to the fact it's all fictional I'm more than happy siding with the yeagerists.

TrixieTurner

I feel so bad for Falco, I wanna hug him soooo much since the first time he appeared. He’s such a pure little babyyy 😭😭😭 so sweet and polite. He’d be the perfect son eveyone wants

Carolina

Releasing 10s of millions of Colossals was his choice though. He could've just released Shiganshina's walls, like Armin said. And his 10s of millions left Paradis from the interior without completely obliterating everyone there so you cannot make a case for their precision when the story shows otherwise. He clearly had no intention of just destroying the military.

Yasiru Jayasinghe

They already mentioned they will react to all opening and ending songs by the end of this season

laras

I think Armin is the best choice for peaceful time. He is a good peace ambassador, a good ruler. They were just unlucky behind the basement was more war time

Luna lanes

I feel like we can't definitively say that the situation would be improved if Erwin was still alive. Different, sure, but what is currently happening in AoT is wayyyy outside the scope of what Erwin probably anticipated (what anyone anticipated, really). I'd like to think though, that if Erwin were present, he would have come up with a better plan to save the Eldians.

Gabriel Barott

A fellow manga reader here 🤚🤚 :P My question was just a reaction to what Ange said about stopping everything if a loved one told him to do so 👀.

Sammie

Carlie made a really good point about Gabi and Connie! At least for Kaya, Gabi is almost the closest thing to Sasha for her. I never thought about the fact that the same could eventually be said for Connie too, and would be really really great ^-^ I'm a Connie ride or die, so I just want that boy to be happy

Gabriel Barott

you guys can now react to the opening

Degenerick

100%. I truly think if Erwin lived, things would be a lot different. But Eren loves Armin too much, second probably only to Mikasa.

Ivan Haji

Yeagerists to the end!!!

Ivan Haji

Ange, the colossal Titan we know isn't precise like the others, as Armin himself pointed out. It's mere presence causes everything surrounding it to burn. Now imagine 10s of Millions. It is literally impossible for Eren & his Titans to go into a nation, and simply destroy only the military bases, the entire nation will burn. Ishiyama has made it so Eren literally has no other choice but to choose between his friends, or his humanity.

Ivan Haji

We finally see the Female Titan's blood again. Bring back the joke peeps! 😂

The Plot Armored Titan

There's an answer for that in the manga, but I'll shut my mouth for now.

The Plot Armored Titan

Don’t forget that eren has seen glimpses of the future so he may know some things that might happen

Sean Carroll

Armin telling the fandom that Erwin was the right choice finally puts that debate to bed. I love armin but he definitely was the wrong choice

Sean Carroll

Ange be spitting facts again🙇🙇 But imagine if Mikasa gave him a kiss, told him to stop and he did, what do you think would happen to Paradis and the rest of the world? 🤔

Sammie

Isayama is famous for saying that once he finished the manga he would enjoy sitting in his hot tub filled with the tears of all of his fans. The guy is seriously messed up but I love it haha

Sean Carroll

Did you catch Annie saying Armin in her flashback?
