Attack on Titan 4x20 REACTION!

Good news is that it's double upload time!

....Bad news is that episode 21 has copyright dramas. Of course. As we're planning to do a triple upload. Sorry everyone! Hoping to have a fix by tomorrow. Hopefully less than 24 hours.

Attack on Titan 4x20 REACTION!

Comments

Hi guys, I don't think the show was trying to confuse you about good and wrong, if anything it just forces you to not judge every person right away, and just cause everyone does fu**ed up things in this show, it doesn't mean they are justified Angelo XD, it just means that everyone has a motive behind their actions, and I don't think most people tought of Eren as the villain of the story at this point, it just made us more curious about what his plan was on solving this global problem

Tibbers

I think the reason why Kruger and Grisha were doing what Eren needed them to do is because they are fighting to save Eldia, and Eren was showing them that he would! And that was their way of saving their people. I don’t think they did it bc they HAD to obey eren!! Also about the future memories and all, they don’t see the future, but future memories, so they would see only what Eren chooses to show them and it would be from Eren’s POV, that’s why the two times Grisha saw Zeke, was when Eren was standing behind him facing at Zeke. Perhaps there is another Attack titan after Eren, but he/she is choosing not to show anything to him! Haha

Victor Castro

So I don’t think he sees his future memories, but the memories of future attack titans! That’s how I always understood it!

Victor Castro

please Angelo why do you keeps hiding your face dude i want to see your face reaction!😉😊

Akram Almalahi

He can see where zeke is but not eren. he doesn’t comment on Erens appearance because he’s receiving the memories in real time of eren and zeke in the paths and all the memories sent to him are going to be from Erens pov. Imagine he is living the moment from two camera angles simultaneously and he can also remember Erens thoughts/feelings and they are partially imprinting onto grisha

Joshua Miller

This is it, the comment I was looking for and the one I hope they find. I didn’t really understand all of it until my second watch but it really adds a lot of value and it’s amazing how meticulously planned the writing is

Joshua Miller

Posted on YT, but sometimes it gets burried. A couple of fun facts: (1) Ymir (Historia's friend) was betrayed by her people in the same way the Founder Ymir was by hers. (2) So the organism Ymir came in contact with was modeled after a Hallucigenia a spinal-like cambrian animal that resembles a worm, as articulated from fossils found. Give it a Google search, pretty nuts. (3) The moment you realize that REAL original catalyst for everything that eventually transpires in this show was the person that let the pig out of its sty lol.

iJonShuffle

Peak performance from Grisha’s VA

Pure

Wait so, Grisha was the first Attack Titan to eat the founding titan. But he couldn't change the future yet because something was missing? But Eren went into the past with Zekes power in Ymirs realm. So zeke got used and Eren changed the future. Still #TeamEren

Nathan S.

So at that point in the episode, we didn’t know that they were “physically there” and then it started to become clear that Grisha could actually feel/see the presence of Zeke and Eren.

Carlie & Ange

Yep we came to this conclusion in the discussion! Thanks for clarifying 😊

Carlie & Ange

P.s. I do know Eren and Nobunaga situation is a bit different. But it's the concept of a "bad guy"

Alijah Edwards

U have to be a realist to still rock with Eren. Just like Oda Nobunaga, he unified Japan which resulted in peace among the people for centuries and ended Japan's warring state period. But he picked up the villain title when he had to ruthlessly kill his enemies and conquer states to take their land to ultimately fulfill his dream of an unified Japan.

Alijah Edwards

Team Angie and Eren

Alijah Edwards

I don't think thats right, eren can't see the future of his own memories. The attack titan see's the memories of people before and after themself. The reason he could influence grishers actions is because he be seeing him when he is in the founsing titan realm. In essence grisha is reacting to eren seeing him. This is why grisha can see zeke but not eren, he can however hear eren talking to him because that would be a memory of eren talking. I am almost certain i understand this correctly. i think eren laughed at sashas death because she said 'meat' and it shows that eren still has humanity and believes that ending this will stop his other friends dying.

Trent_88

I think you guys mis understand. Eren does not control anyone he only influences. He knew the exact words to say to influence his dad to kill the founder queen and her family. And he only left the dad alive for the historia stroy line.

Reginald Leandre

Best episode of tv I've ever seen, it can't get better than this

Mauro

I have always loved Eren's character, but have disliked him as a protagonist since the season 1 finale. When he said he would destroy the entire world I thought he was a bit...tainted. When he said he was going to eat Annie, and he was convulsing. Those moments have really stuck in my mind. I know Annie killed his friends, but she didn't have attitude of sheer malevolence about her when she did it. He always had this weird sinister smile. We always thought that he had lost control...now though...maybe that's just who he is when someone tries to steal his friends freedom.

Samuel Wallace

Grisha's VA is on a whole different level

Mobin Shah

Yes, he was asking Connie what the words was because those words were the confirmation that what was happening couldn’t be changed and that everything goes as he saw. He saw Sasha’s last moment and he wanted to be sure

Carolina

I always cry when I watch Grisha hugging Zeke and he asks for forgiveness… I feel so bad for Zeke! But I lost Eren when Sasha died

Carolina

This episode was when eren became my favorite character, he went from feral rage gremlin to a grim machine that does its work, marching forward no matter what.

TrixieTurner

The girl staring at the scarf was the girl who mikasa saved that joined the scouts, she was staring at it cause shes basically mikasa's mikasa and saw the scarf as mikasas iconic thing.

TrixieTurner

You guys didnt realized maybe, but Grisha actually was staring at Eren when he was leaving their house while holding the keys of the basement

Vahik

One of my fav episodes! thx u guys r the best

Jer emy

Mystic said it perfectly here 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾Eren is one of the best anime characters of all time… there is said it

Siba Zitumane

To be honest this was the episode that made me love Eren as a character more than any other episode. One of my favourite episodes of the show. It shows Eren has matured through all these experiences but his beliefs will always stay true

Siba Zitumane

Instead of “hold the door”, this one was “hold the knife”

GB3

Eren lingering on that memory of him giving Mikasa his scarf 🥲 “Who do you think the enemy is?” Future Eren looking at Erwin like 👀 does he know it’s me?

Jean-Luc Baca

WOW. This may be my favorite reaction of all time, you guys are so invested I love reactors that get SO into it!!!

Riley

This is why Eren laughed at Sasha's death. He already saw it when he kissed Historia's hands and tried to stop that happening as best he can. When she died it reminded him that he is still powerless to stop the ones he loves dying (even after mastering titan powers).

Ellis Le'Gall

Anyone else gonna talk about how Eren was distracted by young Mikasa in that scene?

Ivan Haji

Eren just doing it all for his people, certainly not a villain. #yeagerist

Hertog

Ange is based

Jonathon Elkins

I haven't turned my back on Eren, even though killing is terrible. Everyone has killed.

Beyonder

I don't think Eren's expressions are the show's way to portray him as a vilain Ange, some people do perceive him as the vilain. But I believe they are expressions of his strong will / deep hatred against people who try to steal his freedom. as he says. "If someone is willing to take my freedom, I won't hesitate to take theirs.". And is this really worse than killing so many people in the Attack on Liberio ? That was more shocking to me than this.

Grey Cat

Yea guess we'll have to wait on the Full reaction lol

M.N.

I think it’s important to remember that once Grisha learns that Carla was killed he wants Eren to get revenge and agrees with his plan after he had already told Zeke to stop him

Jackson Cabe

A lot of people aren't realizing the difference lol.

M.N.

I remember that too lol. I chuckled

M.N.

Yeah I remember that I was laughing so hard when he said that, "Can he see the future or something" xD

Grey Cat

nah Ymir is.

john ross

And when Eren was whispering in Grisha ears , that was basically live streaming between future n past Live in the moment eren’s memory of saying each word is sent to past grisha’s memory So he’s able to interact in real time As seen with zeke at the end too When Eren is also standing being grisha making sure he sees zeke

Armani

@Carle and Angie Notice every time Grisha sees and calles Zeke Eren is facing towards zeke as well Meaning grisha is seeing thru Eren POV . So he can’t see Eren himself

Armani

Grisha is the most tragic character of all time...

Mojira

So I was wrong, it was actually the reaction to episode 1! It was a pretty throwaway prediction, but you suggested that Eren can see the future through memories/dreams (13.45ish mark). I remembered it because saw your reaction right after I watched this episode.

Weey

So much for Zeke's plan to brainwash Eren. Look who got brainwashed in the end. And Grisha's voice actor just nailed it in these episodes. Zeke wanted to pursue his "Euthanization plan" because of Grisha abandoning him. If he was denied a childhood, he probably felt the humane thing to do is make sure no other Eldian goes through the same turmoil that he did. @Ange, your "shredding the evidence" segment will have to continue on till the end of Episode 22. You will know when you get to the end of it. I am with you, I too love Eren as a character but I turned my back on Eren quite a while ago, probably when Sasha got killed. Tbh, when I saw Gabi blow his head clear off for the first time, I genuinely cheered because I knew Eren was heading down a path that he could not come back from. @Carle, You are right about why Grisha changed on Paradis Island but never forget, he also he also got married to Carla. That Blonde Girl that Mikasa was talking to is the same girl she saved in Episode 6 of Season 1, I believe.

Amrith

Ik there people already explaining eren’s ability to manipulate grisha in the comments above, but I’ll drop a Reddit link that gives u a detailed explanation on the theory: https://www.reddit.com/r/ShingekiNoKyojin/comments/d1q0v9/manga_spoilers_the_complete_guide_to_chapter_121/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Ibinhio

I'm not a jaegerist but I also can't turn my back on Eren. I can't blame Carlie for feeling the way she does about him either. Man this show is complicated lol.

Monii

Yep, that's how I read it as well!

Monii

What?!!! Did i actually….? What did I say? 😂

Carlie & Ange

I don't think he necessary saw her death but that she wasn't present in the future and hence why he traumatic laugh when he asked Connie about her last words when she stole meat to share with everyone, confirming his theory. But I could be wrong too.

Cation

bruh Ange after this episode the support for Eren grew.

john ross

"King Fritz is not looking too crazy right now" HAHAHAHAHAHAB

Mr Joker

i am an eren apologist but NOT a yaegerist 💅

Coco

Nah Ange, this was the part of the series, where I realised Erens actions are cruel and evil but for a somewhat kind of noble reason( like saving Armin and Mikasa and his people) in my opinion, so he kind of lost me in terms of supporting him with his plans fully, but he got elevated to my absolute FAVOURITE character in the series, solely because he's so complex, well written, full of black air force energy, gets me hyped whenever he's on screen wondering what he ll do next. But thats just me, because I genuinely prefer and have a liking to the more villainous characters that have a lot of depth and you can sympathize with on their trauma and backstory. So i think it's perfectly fine for you to still love Eren as your favourite character, but just not support or condone all his actions.

ONLY IN OHIO

To clarify with what kind of „timetravel“ we have to deal here: For this Event to happen there need to be 3 conditions to fulfilled. Eren having the Attack Titan, Access to the Founding Titan and Zeke brining Eren to the Memories. When Eren kissed Historias hand he saw him and Zeke through Grishas Memories because this was determined to happen. So when Eren entered the Memories he was kinda Streamsharing his View to Grisha all the time. So Grisha actually don’t see Zeke from his Eyes but himself in the Third Person View through Erens eyes. Hope this helps

Walden

I think another reason why grisha changed is because he saw what forcing his ideals on his children resulted in. He lost his wife and everyone close to him in a horrofic way all because he wasnt a real father to zeke.

Torben Brüggemann

I know we've said it many times, but this is truly where AoT ascends to a different dimension. We thought we had it all right but we were wrong. The things you guys saw (the past with Eren as a child all the way to the slaughter of Reiss family) was not manipulated through Eren. With the help of Founding titan (accessing the Paths) and having Shredded made it troublesome. They replayed everything that happened, meaning that all those thing Eren made his father do would not be possible if Zeke didn't bring Eren to the paths. And every time Grisha saw glimpses of Zeke and Eren was from Erens point of view, meaning it was like a camera lens from Erens eyes. Hence why Grisha could only see Zeke when Eren was looking at Zeke (Point of view). Because Eren is the future inheritor, and he can send memories back to the past users. All those reveals was mind blowing. Isayama is so scarily good. This kind of confirms that Eren manipulates everything way back before he was born, because that is what his Attack Titan power does, see glimpses of the future. While the rest of the titans could only see the past users. Important scene to note is when we saw Eren kiss Historias hand, now you guys know why he looked so freaked out in season 3 finale, he knew everything would happen accordingly and he probably been trying to change the narrative, but it wont work. Just like Zeke said: The past can't be changed. The Attack Titan characteristic is all from Eren in the future. And last but not least: Give all the god damn awards to Grishas voice actor, this is what makes it hundred million times better than dub. Edit: 16:20 to give you a hint Ange, think of it as a timeline of shredded titans. Past users we dont know of ---> Kruger --->Grisha ---> Eren (The last/latest inheritor). Could mean many things but I want you guys to theorize on that bit because it could mean anything. Amazing reaction guys!

Cation

this show has insane rewatch value

Skellyp

To answer your question Ange: Absolutely nothing will make me turn my back on Eren. Ive watched the whole show, Ive read the manga I saw how the story ends (and how it will end for you in 2023) and I still say that Eren is one of the best protagonists/antagonists that Ive ever seen. Definitely my favorite character of the entire show with Erwin a close second. So yeah dont feel bad for sticking up for him please.

Victoria💄

someone can correct me if im wrong, but thats how i read everything 😊

Coco

btw i think when Eren laughed after Sasha died, its because he already saw sasha's death in his "future memories". it was like confirmation that the future is set in stone and hes stuck on this path

Coco

Ange called the attack titan's ability I think in episode 2's discussion! I've had to wait 80 episodes to finally get to say this.

Weey

As for change of Grishas personality. Raising Eren properly and becoming a family man, instead of treating his son as a tool might have melowed him out.

Sydonis

I can't believe you guys missed/cut out your reaction to the scene where Grisha says "When I come back I'll show you the basement" But finding out he's talking to Future Eren and not little Eren

Gray

"No matter what Era it has found itself in, the Attack Titan has fought for freedom". Now we know why.

Ivan Haji

AAAH today wasn't my day but these triple uploads saved it 😭 THANK YOU GUYS!

Sammie

Didn’t watch yet, but grisha’s voice actor is just on another level. It’s like he was pissed that he only had a few lines in the series so he went all freaking out with the lines he had.

Clown

I believe Zeke was looking at Eren like that because of what Grisha told him about what he saw happens in the future

Musab imran

LETSGOOOOOO

laras

You're the best 👌

William Francom

Reaction to Eren speaking to grisha. PRICELESS!

Vyn

OMG can't wait for the full lengths ones

RepliCant

Frozenbozo
