We have to read the original manga. If “meat” (niku) is written with kanji, then she is meaning meat… but if it’s hiragana or katakana, I think this theory could be right.

I mean, there have been plenty of examples of countries that act as the aggressor in wars (we're living in such a time as we speak), but the answer to the threats posed isn't to eradicate the entire country and it's civilians. Cripple their military, impose sanctions, use treaties to reinforce future acts of aggression. There are a number of responses one can have other than nuking each other into oblivion (the parallel here being the Rumbling). Even if you thought the Rumbling we're justified, you haven't solved the quintessential problem of how humans can resolve their differences. Factions will arise, people will find something other than "Eldian vs. Marleyan" to go to war with one another. Our own world is living and historical proof of that

I can Never NOT love Eren. Eren is my fav character all time. I think i may have not explained my feelings yesterday properly regarding Gabi. What i meant to say is i cannot hate Gabi as she is merely a child brainwashed by Marley and her actions were celebrated and she thought she was in the right. That doesnt mean i have to hate Eren for it but also Eren isnt exactly innocent in this either as Mikasa said earlier "Youve killed innocent and children". i saw this fact on many pages before. it seems to be legit afaik. especially with what was hinted at.

the issue with that, thought (and btw i am just playing island devil's advocate lol) . the issue with this is that according to marley, the eldians did some massive horrors and then basically went on a retreat on an island and just chilled under a death thread. as far as they know, their marlyan hero Helos and the Tyburs pushed the king to an island and the king was gonna snap back at them eventually with the rumbling right? so their fight was not really just a random act of violence against the people of paradis, in their mind, they were on a ticking time bomb. Think of it like how Bane in batman just took an entire under siege and called in a threat to kaboom if someone enters or leaves... but u know the bomb is gonna kaboom anyway eventually... you'd still say " i might as well risk this quiet time and attack on my own timeline vs theirs". so while what the marlyans did to paradis is their first strike from our perspective, they're seeing it as an inevitable tactical advantage to prevent a bigger rumblings threats... in fact im sure most of the marlyans dont know that the eldians in the island lost their memory. to die evnetually... maybe if they had that information that would have changed or accelerated their plans to attack stronger early on before eren got to pick up skills... we dont know. it's a "what if" situation... if anything, it's the tyburs that had this knowledge from before and they chose to keep that information until after eren became a threat to them... if the world knew that the eldian war ended not because of a marlyan hero but because of an eldian wanting to start peace to fix the mistakes of his predecessors... maybe the world would not have been this segregated for the eldians in and out of paradis and the non-eldians. bottom line is. there's no right or wrong here. There is only "what is happening now" and people are adapting on either sides, whether by reacting or escalating or proactively getting ahead of a bigger threat.

Just to clarify my point of view about who is to blame. Paradise Island was living without harming anyone. Marley were the aggressors. Imagine with me if Marley had not attacked Paradise , no one would have died and everyone lived in peace and the memories of Paradise Island were erased, so I am with Eren I will give him the absolute right to do what he does.😌

The Japanese Says "Paradise" as "Paradeez" so technically "Paradeez" is the correct one, but "Paradise" is also fine since they mean the same thing just being pronounced different in Japan

This anime shows real maturity because you get to see both sides but it gets even deeper than that. Show really keeps you on edge and makes you switch sides constantly. This season was a real roller coaster of emotions for me and I had to watch some episodes twice to really grasp some of the meaning behind their intentions. It's good you get to edit the episodes since you get a 2nd look fresh and maybe pick up on some things you wouldn't otherwise from your first viewing experience.

And I’m also glad you spent some moment trying to understand the different ways the characters deal with the situation, especially Armin venting to Annie (and great that you highlighted the connection there). I’d also like to note how in this episode it is clear not just the fact that Armin feels helpless in his understanding (or lack thereof) of Eren, but how all the members of the main trio are dealing with isolation, from others but also from one another (which is way more concerning). Other than that, Pieck rules and I’m glad you took a liking to her. Looking forward to your next reactions, and your future puns… because we can recover from 4x8. Maybe.

I know it’s sad but if you watch it again she does say niku. Other people noticed this previously but I’m not sure if the author himself has confirmed exactly what she meant so I guess it’s up to interpretation.

Haven’t watched the reaction yet, but comments on this season so far have been brutal. I hope people just enjoy the show for what it is and be civil about it. From what I understood the show is trying to convey a message that there is no right side. Both sides did bad things. You can love characters from both sides. You can love “evil” characters. I hope you guys don’t get pressured into picking a side and enjoy it for what it is.
