Damn, I remember when I first saw Sasha spare Gabi's life and I said out loud "That's gonna come back to bite her in the ass". I didn't expect it to be that bad tho!! O_O I was expecting someone else to die and Sasha having to deal with the guilt or something like that.

Being on Eren sides doesnt mean you hate Gabi and vice versa, its not a sides thing. This is why Eren & Reiner stand out so much. Now AOT is a short anime compared to others, so that makes sense. There simply is not enough screen time.

Had very little screen time throughout the anime, but had such a huge impact on the other characters AND the ongoing plot of the anime. He was a kind human, who instead of talking down to Jean in S1, he encouraged him and helped point Jean in the direction of the person we know him as today. Character development doesn't have to only be a multi-layered protagonist/antagonist that we've followed for multiple seasons. It can be as simple as a character in a show/movie/story making a good or bad decision.

In that same light, their thoughts and feelings on these characters could very well change over time, depending on how the anime develops. We will just have to wait and see, and there is no reason to become rude or disrespectful to one another. With how understanding, fair and compassionate Carlie & Ange typically are when it comes to a lot of the different perspectives/philosophies within this anime, there's no doubt that they will be able to continue that pattern.

Gabi has displayed similar characteristics to Eren but all we’ve really seen her do is try to throw away all her potential by running blindly into the scouts all to kill the person that spared her. Which happened to be the potato queen herself. We by no means hate Gabi, but this might help clarify our stance! Im sure with more time, we’ll love Gabi!

Zeke comes from a different lineage of royal blood not tied to Paradis. For the same reason King Fritz ancestors would not have been bound by the vow either.

The absolute amount of devastation and lack of knowledge of the enemy's plan on Marley’s side is a reflection of Shiganshina. It’s even more tragic when you realize that this attack was in LIBERIO. The home of the Eldians in Marley. Meaning that it was mostly just Eldian blood being spilled in both attacks. They truly are just tools of war and meat shields in the eyes of Marley.

She saved Samuel from falling during the Colossal Titan attack. S2. She saved Armin from being obliterated by the Colossal Titan's explosion and falling unto Eren and Armored Titan. Mikasa and Hange suffered quite badly because of that. She also saved that little girl from her village. She was also the person entrusted by Erwin and Hange to relay messages during the battle. S3P1. She saved Mikasa from getting shot by Dimo Reeves in the warehouse. She also saved Armin from being killed by Eren and Historia's kidnappers. Here in S4, she singlehandedly took down Carlo, the artillery unit in Cart Titan. She did nothing? She is a clutch queen with a bubbly personality.

While he definitely can improve his minor character writing, he fooled me so badly as both a few characters (Reiner, Eren, Gabi) and the plot itself had such a circular development

But like you said, she has an uncanny ability for people to get so attached to her. Aside from the obvious (explicit) things we see from her like her humor and pure/straightforward nature, that theory would be my guess of why so many people get strongly attached to her!

2022-07-04 17:30:59 +0000 UTCI think many people appreciate her as she was the glue that continuously brought the Scouts back to their humanity and sensitivity to life with her comic relief/simple human quirk of loving food. Over the years the Scouts had to watch so many comrades die, kill titans who they eventually learned were humans, and even kill other people in S3. We are mainly told the story from the scouts point of view so we go through a similar experience of trauma. For Berthold and especially Reiner, their haven for all the stress and trauma was in pretending to be a soldier. For many of the scouts (and many of us), it was Sasha, even if it was on just a subconscious level.

While clues were sprinkled in (ex: Floch not caring about collateral damage and focusing on the victory while Jean scolded him to keep collateral damage to a minimum and was focused on the 6 dead soldiers instead of the victory), I think most of us were just completely too emotionally shocked from Sasha’s death and Zeke’s betrayal of Marley Marley to think about more immediately.
