After all this time I felt that post credit scene from S3E12 was just foreshadowing the upcoming episode content (which was the case). But now I am as obsessed about theories as you guys are. Never did I ever imagine it might have a deeper meaning than that. Now I have to go back and review every post-credit scene.

A wall separated them. some people wished levi chose Armin, others wished he chose Armin which brings about a division (a wall) in the audience

The whole scene with Levi remembering how excited Armin was to see the sea and the 'Everyone's a slave to something' was there for a reason - it's why Levi ultimately chose to save Armin over Erwin.

2022-06-11 23:00:22 +0000 UTCMy interpretation is: Before they head out to the mission Erwin actually tells Levi to use the serum any way he wants. He choose Armin because of what Kenny taught him. Kenny showed Levi that everyone has some goal or dream they are living for that drives them forward. Levi realized that Erwins dream is so close to his reach that he will achieve it and then have nothing left to fight for. The story tells us multiple times that Erwin isnt really fighting for humanity, he is fighting to get to the basement, humanity is essentially just lucky that their survival aligns with Erwins goal. Levi asked Erwin what he will do after he reaches the basement and Erwin said he doesnt know. That is why Levi picked Armin. He is worried that Erwin will no longer have a dream that carries humanities fate along with it. Whereas Armins dream of seeing the sea and everything beyond it is a massive ambition that will hopefully allow Armin the drive he needs to continue the fight.

Armin on the other hand is very valueable for thinking outside the box and defying the logic most people in this world goes by and that is a very good talent aswell.

Now sure, if we didn’t watch it, we would’ve been more surprised, but there still was a bit of dialogue hinting at the syringe getting used throughout these few episodes. So we’re not sure how much of a difference the credit scene actually would have made

Or do you think it was a better experience to know about that scene? Because I know why you watched it, and made sense at the time. but you definitely were formulating a lot of theories directly related to that scene such as the dilemma of armin vs erwin, which you probably would not have seen coming if you weren't teased with it So I'm curious basically if you stand by that decision or regret it, just so we know if we should recommend it to other youtubers when the time comes.

He knows that Erwin's entire goal in life was to get to the basement, which they were about to do. Would Erwin still be a great leader after his goal is accomplished? Levi knows that Erwin's life hinged on this because of their conversation about him being selfish in ep 11 or 12.
