I'm think Grisha gave Eren the key first and let him wear it, then Grisha turned Eren into a titan and let him eat him. Grisha did all of this the same day after wall Maria fell and people got evacuated. So when Eren woke up, it was in the shelter with Mikasa and Armin after they got evacuated, Eren didn't remember how he got the key because he got turned into a titan and lost some of his memories. Go back to Season 1 Episode 2 when Eren was having nightmares(seeing some memories when he got the titan power) and woke up with the key.

I dont think you guys understood Keith's character that well, so ill explain. 1. He wasnt jealous of Eren, he broke his gear because he wanted to protect him from the potential death he might have by fighitng titans in order to repay Carla for how he last spoke to her, also he may have known that she wouldnt want Eren fighting titans. 2. He always felt like a nobody but always had big dreams of being the person to save humanity inside the walls from titans. He was obsessed with being a hero and being seen as someone special for saving the world so when he realised he had failed he became depressed because his life dreams had been shattered. 3. As mentioned he had huge dreams and determination to reach those dreams, he had distain for people that were content with living inside the walls without any care of exploring outside or doing anything with their lives. When Carla told him he should give up that came as an unintentional attack on his very being, she was treating his life goal as if it was something he should just give up on which is why he got angry with her, couple that with the fact she never did anything with her life except be a barmaid and his original love for her, all his emotions just came to the surface. He shouldnt have yelled at her but everything he said was absolutely true. There is a lot of depth to is character but its common for people to mistake what the episode is trying to convey to you about Keith. Personally he is one of my favourite characters.
