Tiers update/Full length reactions!
Added 2022-04-26 18:19:22 +0000 UTCHey everyone! We thought we'd fill you in with some of our near future plans for Patreon. We're looking to add full length reactions for our Attack on Titan videos beginning at the start of May. These will include all episodes beginning with Season 2 and the OVA's. We won't be doing full length reactions for every show that we watch as it gets tricky with our current camera limitations. But for all anime related content, you can expect to see full length reactions.
These WILL NOT include the intro and outro discussions as we keep everything we say in those and it would also take away from our blooper videos that we upload to Patreon. So you'll have to refer to the edited video for those! We recommend this to get the best experience with our reaction anyway.
As for the tiers, we will be doing a little overhaul of them and they will be more specific as to EXACTLY what you can expect to see in each. They will outline exactly which shows are on offer for early access and/or Full length reactions.
As for the full length reactions, there will be a 5-8 second clip of the episode on screen for you to sync up with us and then it'll be almost entirely just our reaction. This is so we do not infringe on any copyright which we take very seriously on the channel.
Let us know what you think about this as we have a few days to finalise these plans before the new month. How do other reaction content creators implement full length reactions? We'd love to hear down below!
Also, in case anyone was wondering, whenever/if you decide to change from a tier, you will get access to it right away, but you'll be charged the difference between what you've already paid for the month and your new membership amount.
Sorry for the long post!

Had the same thoughts as Ross regarding Smashin Cupcakes. Will discord be affected by the tier I choose as well? Just revisited your tiers (haven't been there since I signed in). Does this mean that I do have to become golden jellie to be involved (patreon-only post?). Am I already missing posts??? 😳😯 Concerning the full episode reaction: I suppose you edit your discussion breaks then? So an episode of lets say 28 mins will end up as video of 28 mins (with additional sync time at the start)? Otherwise the pausing and resyncing will be a demanding task. 😅 Nevertheless I appreciate your choice to respect copyrights and that you are putting a lot of work and thoughts in your channel. I will be happy with every way I get my dose of content. Definitly the best addiction I can have... 😆😂

2022-04-28 02:08:43 +0000 UTCwould love for there to be a place to engage with the more creative projects you guys are building along the way too, specifically music stuff. Smashin Cupcakes the discord would be cool to pitch lines of music, lyrics, or songs for inspiration.

2022-04-27 14:19:40 +0000 UTCHIGHLY UNPOPULUR OPINYON I feel like maybe you should switch to english dub just because of the copyright bs. or else like at lot of times we wont know what your reacting to I think

2022-04-27 13:59:45 +0000 UTCI'll echo the concern about sync'd videos. I love when you guys pause and discuss, but that would make it nearly impossible to stay sync'd up. Not to mention it turns the videos from something I can watch in bed or on the couch (or a bubble bath) into something I need to actively start and stop and adjust continually. The other channels I've seen full reactions from either include the entire episode, or cut the episode video from time to time to avoid copyright issues. For example, Lett's React has full episode reactions on YouTube. They cut for discussion breaks, and frequently make edits to change the video feed. If it's a moral stance behind your copyright concern, then yeah, you're pretty much stuck. Probably doesn't help to know that most viewers watching along would likely be streaming the shows illegally already...

2022-04-27 00:42:13 +0000 UTCI am excited for the full length reactions but does anybody know if there is a tool to help in syncing with them I find it very hard to do manually

2022-04-26 22:18:05 +0000 UTCThis might be a bit long, but from my experiences (quite a lot of patreon channels...) as a viewer, I just gave up with full length synced reactions for these reasons: Reactors can't really pause or if they do, it requires quite a bit of editing to allow a time before/after for the sync, sometimes this causes issues understanding a scene properly if you are too taken by the images and miss the subtitles, or something along those lines. Timings are iffy, depends on where you watch the show from, sometimes a reactor watches a show on Funimation with 10-20 seconds of extra fluff in the beginning or vice versa making syncing in a few seconds hard and annoying. Timings can get altered after rendering the video, which makes syncing with a timer really hard to adjust to. And for me the biggest reason; Requires two devices or a computer with two screens, making it impossible to watch from my phone which is where I watch 50% of reactions. I in no mean want to encourage you to do anything that isn't copyright friendly that being quite important to you, however you did ask how other reactors do this and for those I watch doing full length, they upload full length to alternate websites (vimeo, google drive, streamable, etc) and to name a few of them if it could help for reference: RuffSenpai, DapperDarius, A Goodwin TV (DapperDarius actually always does full length first and last episode of any season available for free with a link in youtube, if you want to check out how that works). Will stay subbed regardless, hope you enjoy rest of S2! :)

2022-04-26 22:17:01 +0000 UTCAs Marin said, my only concern with syncing up with timer based reactions is that you won’t be able to pause(at least without making it a bit difficult on the viewer to maintain the sync). I personally enjoy seeing the moments that shock you enough to cause you to pause and discuss immediately, particularly with AoT. Despite losing a little something with that, I’m excited to see what you two decide on and I’ll still be along for the ride!

2022-04-26 22:07:52 +0000 UTCSounds great but It'll be better if you include the episode itself cause y'all pause quite a lot 😂

2022-04-26 18:57:57 +0000 UTCI will definitely be supporting you guys with the full length reactions, as for the full length reactions you guys should obviously not show the the whole show but just the subtitles but transparent if that makes any sense

2022-04-26 18:34:24 +0000 UTCSorry, I'm a bit confused. For AoT, there will be: 1) Full-length reaction videos 2) Edited videos + intro and discussion 3) Bloopers Is this correct?
