Probably mentioned 50 times at this point tbh, I'm sure the youtube comments will be full of it too :) They record ahead, and have moderators I believe. It's ok if they miss some things. It's best to let them discover things at their own pace like we all did imho.

No worries. It didn't really ruin any of your experience. Pretty sure a lot of people out there didn't watch in any order that most AoT fans recommended. The show hasn't made it easier for viewers to know which episode they should be watching first. This issue with viewing orders will only get more confusing with each season. Even you guys were confused with the episode number of season 2 which only has 12 episodes. Season 3 and Season 4 are more confusing.

Ilses notebook needed to be watched before episode 2 because of the Ymir name drop. The titan speaking wasn’t the reason we recommended this after episode 1 because of the beast already speaking. Hearing the titan mention Ymir’s name and then going into episode 2 hearing christa call that girl Ymir is an enormous mindfuck. Watching the episode first and hearing christa mention Ymir’s name before the titan says the name severely lowers the impact trust me. Hopefully you guys caught onto the name drop regardless
