2022-04-08 06:06:54 +0000 UTCclose, actually. he was comparing the concept that if there was a human in the collossal, they never found out who it was because of steam, just disappered. so he's comparing to the idea that the steam then and the steam now might obstruct the human inside the titan to escape in the commotion and that's why he told levi to refuel and be ready for something happening. specifically the visibility part, not the smoke signals per se. but we do find out that the scout-spy was the one that shot fake signals (when the guns were dropped) before swords were pulled, indicating that's where the luring signals came from.

The reason for the Colossal Titan flashback was because Erwin was comparing the - and I cannot apologise enough for saying this 😅 - steam from the Female Titan's carcass to the huge clouds of steam emitted by the Colossal, and how it would interfere with their smoke signals. Keep up the great work, guys! Excited for the next one!
