When a will-they-won't-they is getting dragged out for realistic reasons (i.e. not wanting to ruin the friendship), it's actually satisfying. When it's a bunch of contrived reasons why they won't speak to each other, with a whole bunch of wacky misunderstandings thrown in, it gets tiiiiiring.

Gojo IS an incredibly self-conscious person with little to no social capabilities. Marin is his first real friend. First person he's been close with besides his family.
