Pinned Flower Series

https://livsageasmallwoman.pixieset.com/pinnedflowerseries/

The above link will take you to this series if you would like to view it. If you go to the page, and scroll down, you will see subheadings - Number 1, Number 2, Number 3, and so on. Right now, I've done through Number 4 for the series with plans to add more. Every now and then I'll update the series and will post the link every so often as well.

I realize this differs a bit from everything else posted here, so feel free to take it as blank space if you'd like hahaha - I won't be offended. This is a little personal side project for me, and I'm just keeping track of myself.

I don't choose them for the aroma...more based on availability at this point. I've largely been practicing so far - which explains the very plain, reusable backdrop. I'm going to start expanding on the idea more using different flowers and backdrops/settings though. I do love how you can find different flowers that are structurally so different yet also very similar. I love the different textures they all have - though in that way too they are similar. I love the different symbolism involving flowers. So I'm happy that people do like the project as well :)

I suppose so...It's definitely not a comment on bug collections or anything like that. A dissection of sorts, yes. I didn't have any real strong idea though. Maybe deconstruction, destruction, something torn apart - I'd say it's a sort of concept related to certain words or feelings rather than a very structured idea for me.

I like to think of you creating with flower petals ... desperately perishable - beautiful even after the end ? Do you chose them partly for the aroma ? I am fascinated by flowers graceful geometry - also as a medium for color in our world. Oh yes and their role in food for the body and the soul. ~ lovely day !

So I'm curious, the obvious parallel is pinned bugs or the obligatory frog dissection. Having recently gone throug a recent dissection (porcupine) I saw some obvious parallels but wondered what you 'saw' this as... is it a comment on bug 'collection' or a thought on capturing 'beauty'?
