The song Simon sings isn't one he made up. It's the theme to an actual old sitcom called Cheers.

There are several guest animated episodes in Adventure Time and they all are non canon and let the animator direct the episode. It's really cool the freedom they were provided to do basically whatever they want. David O'Reilly is an incredible animator with some really good and cool animations that are on YouTube.

Actual peak set and Glitch is a Glitch is one of my favorite episodes. PB was so funny lol, from the blicky to her about to turn Ice King into a voyuer.
And no way they made that episode sober, or at least someone had to have done some kind of drugs and was animating what they remember from it. I'll even self report and say the "one second later" thing as well as the lag world startup is relatable. I was so zooted once I thought I saw the Windows XP loading screen.
Thanks for the reactions!

Simon and Marcy is such a great episode.

The Puhoy episode is fascinating since besides the pillow world plot itself a lot of the episode could be seen as a allegory for anxiety and how saying “it’s not there so it wont bother me”, bothers you more
Ps: forgot to mention that episode won adventure time an Emmy

Fun fact: Simon & Marcy was Rebecca Sugar's final episode before she left to create Steven Universe.

I usually skip all the guest animated episodes. Some are better than others, but none of them are really good.

In Puhoy Finn actually got caught up in a temporary connection between universes that we learned about at the end of season 4 so he did go to and live a lifetime in that universe and then gets yeeted back to his when he dies of old age there.

Puhoy definitely hits a lot harder if you have seen the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Inner Light, Where Captain Picard goes through a similar experience but is lucky enough to remember everything that happened to him.. Adult Finn is even voiced by Jonathan Frakes, who played Commander Riker from the show

Finn wasn't playing pretend. He actually lived out a full life in that world.
Which makes it even more screwed up that he couldn't remember anything about it lol.

That adult urge to not worry a child while you well know both of you are up shit creek and you have no idea what to do, so you are just scrambling for anything that might vaguely help because they trust and depend on your ability to fix anything.
Man, that episode will always get me. There is just something about Simons use of the Cheers song to try and keep things steady. Like he is just trying to grab onto whatever he remembers, that might help him deal with a shit situation. Like how he goes hunting desperately for Chicken Soup when Marcie is sick. Because that is what you do when someone is sic.

Simon and Marcy watching that movie is like us watching the Spider Man 3 reaction last night.

Now we see why Simon is Marcy's dad, while Hudson is her Father.
Also iirc the episode was originally meant to be a lot darker. But they changed elements like to the Clambulance and the Soupery to make it a bit less overt.

There’s a subtle thing in Simon & Marcy that I didn’t figure out til I was older. Marcy is an unreliable narrator. Simon was lying about the chicken soup to make Marcy feel better, he was actually looking for medicine. The Soupery was a Pharmacy, and he thought the Clambulance was an Ambulance, but called it a Food Truck.
