My favorite thing about Gomora being the most immediate to pick up on things being wrong with Ego is think about *her* father. Thanos. She's *used* to father figures manipulating and taking advantage of you, being *not* fatherly. Of course she picked up on it first, her senses were probably screaming about Thanos.

Most of the best MCU movies are ones that aren't about the Avengers. Before the MCU the Avengers were a B Team, they weren't all that popular, heck Ironman was mostly a depressed alcoholic, so they didn't have a lot of deep character stuff to pull from to make those movies. The character kinda felt one note until they really hit their stride after learning from these really cool characters that have more to pull from, be it their powers, their more in depth personalities, or their cultures. They stopped being just Action Movies and became Character Pieces that focused more on the characters themselves and saving the day became more of a set piece. I can't wait till you get to the movies after End Game, cause while they don't seem to go over well with the action loving general audience, the amount of character work that goes into every movie is amazing, plus you get to watch the Shows as well and those are amazing.

Before this movie came out, I was somewhat familiar with Ego the Living Planet, mainly from a couple Marvel comics lore videos I saw about him. So when I saw this movie (around when it first came out), and it was revealed that Peter's dad was Ego, NGL I was pretty suspicious of his chill and friendly demeanor, given that Ego was a pretty big bad guy in the comics. I knew there was something shady about him throughout most of the film.

Always forget that Jimmy Urine had so many little cameos in this, actually thought he was only in like one scene, but he pops up in most of the ravager scenes. It’s funny as honestly he really looks like he belongs and fits in. Was always a huge fan of MSI growing up, definitely kind of fringe music, even his solo Album Euringer was pretty interesting, had that Gerard Way feat in it as well. Just a bummer that again you have to separate the art from the artist, as he’s had some shady goings on come to light.

Many consider this better than the first film, and for the most part I think that’s true. I think a lot of the jokes are weaker, especially in the first half, but it makes up for it with the emotion and story.

I might be the only one but to me the Guardians have the best trilogy, Cap being second only because Civil feels more like an Avengers movie. But it is a testament of James Gunn's ability to bring these no name characters to life. He made them household names. He made them have such impactful arcs. The cast is also deserving of the praise. I know folks dislike Chris Pratt now a days but he really breathed new life with Starlord which always had a weird comic history. Hell that can be said for all the guardians.

It's so sad to me that for so much of the later Marvel stuff, they won't let the humour just get the **** out of the way and let the characters emote. The funeral scene is so affecting and I'm so glad that Gunn didn't ruin it with worrying about how the audience would be sad and just let them be sad. Honestly that is some of the best things that Superhero stories can do. They aren't a good vehicle for subtlety a lot of the time (it can be done but is super tricky in the medium) but it's a *great* choice for larger than life emotions. Whether that be joy, laughter, contemplation or sadness.

This is one of my favourites, love father-son stories and sister stories. And the humour from rocket and drax, I just love this movie more every time I see it. And the reaction was great too 😉

Pretty sure Yondu is responsible for not only taking Quill but also responsible for the deaths of all the children of Ego, all the bones seen underneath Ego’s kingdom were children delivered by Yondu to Ego. He didn’t know that Ego killed them but when he found out he couldn’t take Quill to meet the same fate, and that’s how we got Star Lord.

The temperature of cosmic background radiation, which permeates the entire universe, is around -450f or -270c. But, because of the lack of heat transfer, yes, you won't freeze up like that in space.

The Guardians movies will always be my favorites in the MCU, love me a family of adventuring dumbasses like One Piece or the Rising Volteccers from Pokémon Horizons. Note for your editor or whoever is in charge of your MCU Watchlist: I know she's got quite a plethora of movies to go through before Vol.3, but I hope the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be on there immediately before GotG Vol.3. Not only is it a fun time, but it has some semi important info that seems to come out of nowhere if you go straight into it otherwise.
